Drinking from a Bivo - A surprise win!
zhlédnutí 541Před 10 měsíci
When we came up with the idea of Bivo, we knew we had to be able to drink out of it with ease. We had tested other metal bottles out there and the other sports nozzles all chugged as air was pulled into the bottle so the water could come out. Neither Robby nor I liked that experience, and knew we needed to solve that problem first if were really going to make a bottle specifically for riding bi...

Let's talk cleaning. Easy cleaning!

When we first came up with the idea of Bivo, we did a series of focus groups and surveys with cyclists to find their biggest pain points with cycling bottles. Thanks to you early supporters for giving us some great insight! Among the top complaints were taste and cleanability. We know all too well how easy it is to leave a bottle full of sports-drink sitting in your bottle for a few days (uuumm...

    The straw squeegee? I threw it out because I thought it was only a packaging thing. Why not put a label there explaining what it is? I'm sure many people discarded that "string of silicone!" Also, please don't promote a detergent that is hard to get and would be used only for your bottles.

      Hey David, thanks for writing! I am sorry it wasn't more clear what the straw cleaner was meant to for, we appreciate the feedback that we should make this clearer on the packaging. We'd love to send you a new one! If you're interested, please reach out to us at thirsty@drinkbivo.com and we can send you one at no cost. Thanks very much, and if there's ever anything else you need, we are always here to help! -Keaton at Bivo

    Hey, love my bottles, though these paint is so scratch-able that my 2nd set of bottles is coming non-painted. But today while cleaning the bottle, a small black silicon ‘button’ was in the bottom remaining water. I realized a) this button causes the straw to be one-way and b) this button was disgustingly dirty, black that is clear as I painstakingly try to clean without losing down the sink drain. My second bottle I popped out this button and am cleaning both now. But getting them re-seated is the next hurdle that I’m dealing with presently. I had no idea how dirty this part of the lid/straw could get and now it’s one more post-ride cleaning step.

      Hey there thanks for reaching out. We're glad you love your bottles, but we're concerned to hear about the button you're talking about! Would you please reach out to us at thirsty@drinkbivo.com and we can look into this for you to make sure you're 100% happy with your bottles? Thank you, Keaton at Bivo

    The FAQ says to use "mild soap (for example, don't use Dawn)" which confuses me. I googled "is Dawn a mild soap" and got back a bunch of hits that all called Dawn "mild" and some even said "gentle." I don't mean to obsess about Dawn because I actually have a bottle of Palmolive on my counter but since you specifically called out Dawn, please explain how we are to know what is an acceptably mild detergent. (You don't have to repeat the part about being unscented.) Or is there a particular ingredient that I can find on the detergent label and know to avoid?

    Hi Carina - is the lid dishwasher safe?

    • @carinahamel2911
      @carinahamel2911 Před 11 měsíci

      Hi Hottie! The lid is tested as safe in the dishwasher but since it's PP, I like to wash it by hand with a mild dish soap. Hope all is well!
