My thoughts on the Final Part Two Marcus Best Song Got to open the show with a fun uptempo song, and Marcus really gave the final one hell of an opening. He more than sung his first song, he reveled being on stage and performing for the public. Christmas Song As expected, Marcus sung his Christmas number exceptionally well as really showed the Christmas spirit. Winner’s Song Marus sung Damien Rice’s „Cannonball“ with sincere emotion and poignance, as well as vocals in tune. Little Mix Best Song These girls already confident and certain of victory took the stage and sung like they truly wanted to be there and wanted to win. Christmas Song I would expect the girls to take on Mariah Carey’s „All I want for Christmas is you“, but no, they took a more melancholic Christmas song. They sung „Silent Night“ with sheer passion and vocal harmony, really bringing the heart of Christmas to the show. Winner’s Song
The girls made Damien Rice’s „Cannonball“ just as poignant and heartfelt like Marcus. It’s really hard to compare each take, because I think both acts did great covers and sung the song like they meant it. *Who I think should have won* Little Mix
As much as I do love and adore Marcus Collins as a X Factor finalist and person, I have to be objective and honest when I say Little Mix are the right winners. They are commercial and appropriate for today’s market and could make it outside the competition.

*Marcus’ X factor Journey* A hairdress from Liverpool and a singing enthusiast, Marcus gave one outstanding and memorable audition. He has a powerful voice and a fearless as well as enthusiastic mindset on stage. His first audition already put him on a good benchmark for the finals, but he still had bootcamp to prove his worth.
Getting passed bootcamp, Marcus got Gary as a mentor and earned his approval to get an invitation to the live shows. On the first week of the live shows, Marcus really took the stage and gave one of the best performances of that night. It was the night each judge could only take three of their own acts further in the competition. Gary did what he knew was right and took Marcus as one of his three, as he more than earned it.
Every week Marcus delivered and entertained us with his top-tier performances as well as charisma and personality. He always performed with boundless energy and confidence, every chance he got to perform was a privilege and an honor to him. It didn’t take more than three weeks until he was proving to be a star in the making and a potential winner. Marcus was the last act standing in the boys category and for good reasons. *Spoiler Warning* Although he didn’t win, he at least made it as a runner-up and that’s a good achievement and something to leave on a good note with.
Marcus got signed up and got an album out, which reached the top 10 in the charts. He also did work in the West End as he got a role in Hairspray when they did a UK tour. After taking a break from recording, Marcus intends to resume recording and continue to sell music. All I can say is I wish him the best of luck. *Little Mix’s X Factor Journey*
Not a group who applied and auditioned for X factor, but were a group put together by the judges. Rejected soloists from the girls category were assembled and handpicked by the judges who goes with who, and who looks and sounds good together. Although both two manufactured girl groups Faux Pas and Orion, they took two members from each of those groups and formed Rhythmix.
Tulisa got the groups and saw the raw potential in Rhythmix and took them to the live shows with her. On the first live show when each judge had to oust an act out of her four and keep three, Tulisa made the right choice and picked Rhythmix. It wasn’t until week 4 when Rhythmix had to change their name to Little Mix because a charity already had that name. Little Mix would after week 5 become the last group left, and this gave Tulisa ample time and opportunity to market Little Mix to the public and bring out the capability and potential in them. With Tulisa’s full mentoring and support she really turned her girls into what could have been Britain’s next biggest girlband. The girls went on stage every week onwards and sung like winners and a ready made girlgroup already on tour. Little Mix got passed the top 5 and had broken the dreaded girlgroup curse that became a staple in X Factor history. It looked like for the first time not only would a group for the first time win the X Factor but also a girlgroup.
*Spoiler Warning* It happened, it finally happened. X Factor history had been made, a group finally win the X Factor, and no other group was more deserving of that title other than Little Mix. Not only would they be the first group to win X Factor, but debatably the most successful X Factor winners next to Leona Lewis. Little Mix would break charts with their chart topping singles as well as having number one albums, which also went platinum. They would be nominated 151 times for an award and have received 55 awards. This is undoubtedly a record not many X Factor winners have accomplished and ever will. If X Factor were ever to prove those who think those type of shows don’t produce stars, Little Mix is the perfect example. Now that X Factor is no longer on the air, we must remember the one girlgroup who rose to stardom because of a TV talent show, Little Mix.

My thoughts on the Final Part One Marcus First Song What a way to open the final, a very entertaining singer like Marcus taking the stage and really having a ball. Already singing and looking like a winner. Duet Gary takes on the piano while Marcus sings along, as the two have amazing chemistry on stage as well as harmonies. Little Mix First Song Made one hell of an entrance on stage with those motorcycles with an army intro. As for their vocals themselves, they were outstanding with consistency and passion. All four members want to win the competition, and it looks like they could be the first group to win. Duet Tulisa takes on the lead and the girls follow her lead well and sing in impeccable vocal harmony. The transition or twist in the middle was well pulled off, specially the rap number. Amelia First Song It was expected that Amelia would be brave enough to take on a Christina Aguilera song, since both singers have big powerful vocals. All I can say is that Amelia walked her performance. Duet Amelia takes lead as Kelly follows, as the two dance and sing their hearts out on stage to an uptempo song. Their voices coincide very well together, probably making this the best duet of the night. *Who I think should have gone home that night* At this point, I think all three did great and should have won. I wanted to see Amelia face Little Mix in the final round. *Amelia's X Factor Journey* From Amelia's very first audition when she walked on that stage she had the stage presence, image and fortunately the voice of a star. She has very powerful vocals and a fearless alacrity to perform and have fun. It was at this moment Amelia was a young star in the making. She exceled in bootcamp and got to judges' houses and getting Kelly as her mentor. Kelly knew that Amelia was the obvious choice for the finals right after she covered Katy Perry. It was an outrage and travesty that Kelly got rid of her on the first week of the live shows. Yes, her take on Michael Jackson's Billie Jean wasn't perfect and some notes were off, but still she gave a great opening to the live shows. Luckily, an X Factor contestant was asked to leave after violating the rules of the competition, and therefore gave the public to vote back in one of the rejected finalists. Amelia won the vote and was reinstated back in the competition, where she would give another great live performance, which pertained to her rejection and getting the opportunity she was robbed of back. As the final weeks progressed and Amelia only found herself in the bottom two once, but was still determined and confident she could win. She had a conspicuous love for singing for an audience and an insatiable hunger for stardom, which was why I think she would have been a well deserved winner. Although it's a shame Amelia didn't win, it's still gratifying she got third place and she got signed after she left the show. X Factor winner or not, she's still a winner in her own right.

My thoughts on the Semi Final Results *Who I think should have gone home that night* Honestly, all acts were great and deserved to be in the final. If I were to be honest about who performed the weakest that night, it would be Marcus. *Misha's X Factor Journey* It's not every year you will get someone like Misha turn up to audition, a girl that not only has the voice of a diva, but can rap too. Not only does she sound good, but she can perform good on stage and like a star. She has no fear of the stage and is in control. Misha made a name for herself at bootcamp when she had to do a song on stage in front of an audience. After her performance she got a boisterous applause from them, as she was already an obvious choice for the live shows whichever judge gets her. Kelly did what any of us would do, had we had Misha in our category, put her through to the live shows and keep her on the first week. Although Misha sung and performed well every week, there was however her being in the bottom two, despite there being nothing wrong with her performances. If I could give her any name I would call her Misha Bullet-Dodger, because every time she's been in the bottom two she had the least amount of votes, which meant if the judges' decision went to deadlock she would be out. Misha did extraordinary well to get this far in the competition and take fourth place, but it's unfortunate to know she had a traumatic time on the live shows. She was a victim of racism and had been accused of bullying, resulting her developing PTSD. On the bright side, Misha was able to secure herself a record deal and make music, at least leaving the competition having become a star is something she be happy with, and hopefully overcome her trauma of being on the X Factor.

My thoughts on the Semi Final Misha First Song Motown week would guarantee to be another genre Misha sure could tackle and not fail. She sure made an entrance and sung her socks off. Her take on this song didn't sound too much like the original. It's a slower version with a modern style. Second Song An uptempo song for her first song and a ballad for her second song, Misha sure can do both. She sung everything in tune and kept the song emotional like a ballad should be. Even the rap in the middle was good. Amelia First Song Taking a break from the big vocal songs, Amelia takes on Motown and is given a song where all she has to do is keep the vocals consistent and in tune, as ell as make it fun. Amelia was well rehearsed to sing this song and make it so good for live TV. When she had to sing high notes, she sure hit them. Second Song For Amelia's second song, she picks one that allows her to apply big vocals with strong powerful emotion. Although I'm not a fan of Avril Lavigne, I do have to say Amelia did a really good cover. Little Mix First Song If they can handle any genre of music, then Motown should be an easy task for them. Their song is a classic by the Supremes, debatably the biggest girl band ever to have existed. The harmonies were present and vocals top notch. They do what they do every week, go on stage and have fun. Second Song For their second song they sing a Beyonce song, but turn this solo song into a group song and sing in perfect harmony and in tune like they always do. Marcus First Song This should be Marcus' week, he's given Motown, a genre most suited to his style. Already a star in the making and confident he could win the show, he was so relaxed and focused when singing this song. Good job. Second Song Okay, for the first time Marcus did a mediocre performance. The singing wasn't out of tune, but it was lacking one key component and that was emotion. In order to sing that song and do it justice is to sing it with elation or euphoria I must add. Marcus had made it so far in the competition and he can't feel euphoric? Maybe he was nervous.

My thoughts on the Live Shows Week 9 Results *Bottom Two* Janet I have to be honest and as much as I hate to admit this, she was the weakest that night. Misha Not a justified outcome, she sung both songs great. Guess she isn't popular with the public. *Who I think should have been in the bottom two* Janet being in the bottom two was certainly fair, as much as I like her, but who should join her it had to be someone. *Sing Off* Janet Right song she chose for her first sing off, and I have to say much better than her first song. Misha It was absolutely no surprise that she would nail her sing off, and she did with her powerful vocals. *Who I would have sent home* Hard to say, if I were being objective here and basing this on the fact it's a singing competition, Misha would get my vote to stay and Janet would be out. *Spoiler Warning* If I knew the voting statistics and saw Misha had the lowest votes, I would let her go knowing the public just don't give her enough votes to win. *Janet's X Factor Journey* Who can forget little Janet, young lady with an adorable presence coming to audition and winning over the judges and audience with a tingly voice? During bootcamp there was always some doubt that she's not versatile enough and she might struggle with nerves, and be a risk putting through to the live shows, but her stage presence and cute girlie-girl image more than makes up for it. Kelly chose well by putting Janet through to the live shows and giving her songs she was comfortable singing. She was most suited to singing slow songs such as ballads, soft rock and folk music, but uptempo bubblegum pop music was something she was not cut out for. If she were going to last long in X Factor and stand a chance of winning she had to break new barriers with her voice, and that's where the skepticism crept in. It was obvious that when she got this far she was outmatched by more powerful singers, and it was her time to go, taking fifth place with her. While Janet sure did have her golden moments on X Factor as well as suffer hardship, she still continues to sing and make music, as well as have her own website, CZcams channel and fan base. It must also be mentioned that she gigs and tours, making her a star in her own right.

My thoughts on the Live Shows Week 9 Little Mix First Song The girls decide to cover two songs with two different styles and truly explore their art style, and that they are truly not afraid to take risks. In regards to their singing, they sung in tune and worked together in perfect harmony. Second Song A song originally sung by one talented vocalist now sung by four talented vocalists and already potential winners. This was a song that meant to each member of the group and identified with. They made an effort to implement and convey genuine emotion, as well as keep their vocals consistent. Janet First Song Once again Janet decides to swim in the deep end and take on an upbeat pop song. While I admire her for her courageous attempt, I can't say it was one of her finest performances on the live shows. She did hit the notes and I must say really well, but then there were notes that were off, and I'm sure she forgot a few of the lyrics. Second Song For Janet's second song, she picks a song that she loves and she truly applies stronger vocals in this song, and really sings it like she loves it. Not the best song she sung, but it's interesting to see her do something different that works. Misha First Song Misha's first song is a cheesy 80's classic, which I was hoping would give her the chance to be innovative and make the song contemporary. All I can say is well sung and mission accomplished, she really owned the stage with that performance. Second Song This song for Misha can't possibly backfire, she has the voice and experience to sing this song live and make it perfect. How did it turn out? She performed flawlessly. Might have worked with a rap number in the middle, but everything she did was sufficient. Marcus First Song Marcus not only succeeds to deliver and impress, but always have fun on that stage, which is what he did. Now that he's done upbeat jaunty songs, he needs to show what he can do with ballads or other slow songs. Second Song Hearing the name of the song I could picture Marcus singing it, and did he ever. His vocals perfect, his stag presence perfect and emotion perfect. If Marcus should leave the competition on a good note this should be is last song. Amelia First Song Last week was Amelia's first experience of being in the bottom two, but that didn't discourage her, as she came back even stronger this week with her first song. She sung every note perfect with three-dimension and power in her vocals. Second Song For the second song, Amelia decided to risk it all and sing a song that could have been too big for her, but it wasn't. She sung it like Kelly Clarkson, who has powerful vocals like Amelia, and she shone like a star on that stage and sung like one. Kelly Clarkson would be proud.

My thoughts on the Live Shows Week 7 Results *Bottom Two* Craig I will confess it wasn't his best performance on the live shows, but not bad to the extent he should have faced the bottom two. Amelia Again, another act who shouldn't have been in the bottom two. *Who I think should have been in the bottom two* Craig I have to rate the weakest act of that night, but who should have been there with him? Probably Janet, as much as I like her performance and consider it a step up in improvement. *Sing Off* Craig He sung the ballad really well with his beautiful melodic voice as well as avert making it sound like the original. Not to mention he hit that high note on the mark near the end. Amelia She's a little more daring with her first sing off, really trying to showcase her powerful voice. *Who I would have sent home* Craig Although he sung really well, Amelia just had more umph in her sing off. Besides, Amelia is more of a popstar and would sell records on the mainstream market. *Craig's X Factor Journey* Young lad from Liverpool astonishes everyone at his first audition with a big powerful voice, not to forget he surprised his parents who were sitting in the audience. Craig was up against a lot of competition as there were boys who could be potential finalists, but he remained confident and determined to get far. Gary put him through to the finals and kept him on the first week, which I thought was the right thing to do. For the weeks Craig stayed on the live shows, he delivered and slowly but steadily improved, becoming more than just a youth who can sing big beautiful songs, but a real performer who could fit into a market. Craig strived and persevered to get this far and he leaves with the lowest amount of votes having the judges' decision going to deadlock. He can leave with his head held high, knowing this is not the end for him and his career as a singer.

My thoughts on the Live Shows Week 7 Craig Opening the show with a Gladys Knight song, who has a great voice and so does Craig. The way he sings that song he does implement bravery and power in his voice, making this a pretty decent cover and opening to the show. Janet Finally, Janet found a pop song that clicks with her voice. Not only does she sing the right song, but also shows a little improvement in her vocals and is starting to prove a worthy popstar. Amelia So happy Amelia is back on the live shows where she belonged, and this week she once again why she was right to be here. She sung with alacrity and enthusiasm to once again be on the X Factor stage singing. What must also be acknowledged is she can really hit those high notes. Misha A powerful singer like Misha can take on a Whitney Houston song no problem, and how everyone was right about that. She didn't do a rap number in the middle, she just sung with perfect vocals. Little Mix Having tackled various genres, it's the first time they tackled a rock song, and one that sounds like a rock song. By now the girls are hard-boiled veterans and potential winners. Marcus Not one dud and every time Marcus delivers top tier performance after the other, and this week he owned that stage with superior vocals and stage presence, as well as energy.

My thoughts on the Live Shows Week 6 Results *Bottom Two* Kitty Not her best performance I will admit, but by no means bad. Misha This is her second time in the bottom two and I'm starting to get the hint that despite she sings sensationally, the public aren't getting her or she doesn't have a big enough fan base. *Who I think should have been in the bottom two* If I wee being objective, these are the following who I think sung the weakest: Kitty, Janet and Craig. *Sing Off* Kitty For her third time in the bottom two she takes on a ballad and sings it as a ballad and not a quirky cheesy rendition. The way she sung it was beautiful and sentimental, as if this would be her last time on the X Factor live shows. Misha Once again she does a great sing off, with vocals she never could fault and she sung with emotion. *Who I would have sent home* Honestly, it's hard to pick, because both did exceptionally well in the sing off. Both could make a career outside the competition and sell records. If it were up to me, I would send the vote to deadlock. *Kitty's X Factor Journey* From day one since Kitty's first audition, she presented herself as this over-charismatic lady who effervesced with zeal and determination to wow the judges and audience. This would only be the beginning of her attempts to stand out from everyone else as she got through to bootcamp. In order to give the judges and the audience a performance and spectacle they will never forget, Kitty bought herself revealing bathing suit that lights up, really making her shine like the brightest star in the night sky. Louis would get the over 25s and therefore got Kitty, and although he had reservations about her because of her craziness and tenacity, he picked her for the ive shows. On the live shows Kitty got a mixed reaction from the audience and the public who voted. Despite those mixed reactions, she still had fans and enough voters to get so far in the competition. It would have been nice to see more live performances by her, as she had proposed so many ideas for some crazy theatrics or stunts that could have been risky, even risked her safety. This didn't matter to her, she wanted to show how hungry she was for success, and I don't think we've had anyone like this before other than Chico from series 2. Even without winning the show, Kitty still got herself a record deal and made and sold music, so it looks like she did achieved her chance at stardom.

The groups are the weakest of any season so far...they should have sent most of them home and paired some of the individual singers they sent home.

My thoughts on the Live Shows Week 6 *Frankie's X Factor Journey* Following the shocking revelation that Frankie has been eliminated from the competition after he was discovered to be boasting about cocaine use, as well as binge drinking, I will go over his X Factor journey. From the first audition, Frankie made an indelible first impression by having the audacity to show off his naked ass where he had every girl he had a fling with tattooed. His voice wasn't strong compared to everyone else who auditioned and passed to bootcamp, but he did have stage presence and the looks to persevere and progress so far. When Gary picked him for the live shows he knew he didn't have him as a strong singer, but a showman that girls will fawn over. Not the most consistent contestant, but did deliver some really good quality all-rounded entertainment, which is something he deserves acclaim for. Too bad I can't say he went out on a good note when he performed one last time, as it was quite evident he had problems with consistency and focusing, so him leaving the competition was justified and was going to happen anytime soon. These days Frankie still continues to pursue music, but as a member of a band, and he has started a family so good for him I guess. Kitty A song by Queen I can't stand (because it's overplayed), but Kitty should be critiqued how she covered the song. She did make the song original and didn't emulate Freddie Mercury's vocals, which I must give her credit for. Still I wanted to hear her sing the Lady Gaga song she wanted to sing. Craig Over the weeks of being in the live shows, Craig has grown and developed, and isn't a karaoke singer. This should be a song that should really give him charisma and convince his audience that he's a potential pop star. I have to confess, this is not what I would rank his best performance, but I still think he was brave and was trying so I praise him for doing that. Little Mix This week the girls have two songs combined together, one by Queen and the other by Lady Gaga. At a time when the girls should feel vulnerable being the last remaining group in the competition, they knew they really needed to stay focus and pull something out of the bag. All I can say is mission accomplished. They conquered all self-doubt and fear and really went all out and showed how much they wanted to be there and subsequently win the competition. Janet Okay, for someone who is no where near as powerful of a singer like Freddie Mercury sings one of his songs where powerful vocals are mandatory. So, how did Janet pull this one off vocally? She was innovative with the lyrics and how she sung and conveyed them. The end part is what she deserves acclaim for, she hit that high note at the end, a note I never heard from her before. Marcus Like always, Marcus never fails to impress. Once again he impressed me with his take on a Queen song. He turned the song into a swinging brass version, which I find rather appealing and it's entertaining to watch him dance and sing so merrily on stage. Misha The song that Kitty wanted to sing, but Kelly beat her to it and gave the song to Misha. Not much can be said in the way of how she sung this song, other than how she nailed those vocals. Instead of doing a jaunty electronic version of the song, she does a slow version, and she did great. *Who I think should have been brought back* Amelia Ever since Kelly eliminated her I thought it was preposterous for her doing so to a young promising superstar. Amelia may have been robbed during that week, but his week she puts all negative emotion aside and sings her whole heart out. She could not have been given a more appropriate song, which reflects on her mindset, as she knew there was no time for fearing defeat and holding onto grudges, the show must go on.

My thoughts on the Live Shows Week 5 Results *Who I think should have polled the lowest votes* Frankie He performed the weakest, and if anyone who is more deserving to go home in terms of the least in quality, it should be him. *The Risk's X Factor Journey* Rejected contestants from bootcamp who were male and under 25 were formed into two boybands, Nu Vibe and the Risk. The Risk did have two (third change happened on the live shows when one member chose to withdraw after the third week, and replaced with a member of Nu Vibe) change in members before the live show, as a rejected group had one of its members taken out and offered to join the Risk. On the live shows the boys did well with only a few rough edges in their vocals, but did improve right up until this week when their luck would run out and they leave having polled the fewest votes. They can leave proud with what they achieved and hopefully progress as a group or pursue solo careers with experience and exposure behind them. *Bottom Two* Johnny Not the best he ever did, but not what I consider justification to be in the bottom two. Kitty Like Johnny, not her best and deserving to find herself in the bottom two. *Who I think should have been in the bottom two* Frankie His performance was inconsistent and lethargic. Janet Her weakest performance and one of the weakest of that night. Although not her fault, just wrong song choice. *Sing Off* Johnny Not the first time he did a ballad, and I'm happy he got to do a second ballad and sung it beautifully, and with actual strong emotion and passion. Kitty For her second sing off she tries to win over her audience with a slow melancholic song, which she sung beautifully and elegantly. This is probably one of the best performances she ever did on the live shows. *Who I would have sent home* If I had the choice, I would have taken it to deadlock and let the public decide who stays. If not, then I would save Kitty based on ambition and what else she has to give. *Johnny's X Factor Journey* On the day Johnny auditioned for X Factor he was always such a character. He manifested a happy-go-lucky and charming personality, even with a sense of humor. When he started singing no one would have expected he could not only sing in tune, but do so with a unique voice. His voice sounds like he swallowed helium, which adds a comedic effect to his singing. Louis did the right thing by inviting Johnny to sing on the live shows, because there was no one like Johnny with a voice and personality like his. The first two performances weren't perfect, but then he started to improve with good song choices and accumulated experience. It could be often debated that Johnny is a novelty act, but I don't class him as one. A novelty act is someone who sings songs that aren't right, but they are fun and entertaining. Johnny is a serious singer, even though he does quirks and small antics on stage with colorful vibrant set designs and backing dancers. Now that Johnny is out and it's a shame to see him go, I wish him so much luck with his career in music and other entertainment. He would have a good career in the West End, even perform in prestigious clubs in London doing drag if that's what he loves doing best.

My thoughts on the Live Shows Week 5 Johnny The first part Johnny sung well with his unique singing voice, but as for the second part he changed his tone and went to another level of quirkiness. This is not his best live show performance, but still good. Janet This is what I would consider Janet's weakest X Factor performance so far. She fluffed her lyrics and she didn't express much emotion or the amount required to make the song believable. Still I give Janet credit for singing in tune and actually trying. Craig So far Craig has grown and improved as a contestant, and is going in the right direction to achieving top tier performances. This week he was given a great song that suits his voice and he did hit those high notes and kept consistent during the synth pop part of the performance. Craig has proven he can to upbeat songs and dance to them. The Risk It's so far in the competition and the Risk not only have to be consistent, but sensational every week too. This week the vocals and harmonies were present and I liked the rapping the middle. These boys are proving to be strong contenders in the competition and a potential boyband ready to achieve stardom. Marcus Not once has Marcus fouled a live performance or picked the wrong song, he's gone up and up in quality. This week he really rocked and took the dance floor, pulling off a fun, catchy and jaunty performance. Marcus, you did it again. Kitty Now a Madonna is a song that screams a promising performance that will work like a charm for Kitty, and I have to say my expectations were met. She sung the vocals in tune and expressed emotion. It's a shame there weren't a bit more antics or props on stage, but still great vocal performance. Frankie Up until now Frankie has been on track and maintaining consistency as a performer, however, this week was a step backwards. His vocals were flat and he lacked emotion in parts, didn't sing as if he really had the feeling it was going to be a good night. Misha Without a doubt one of the most consistent and powerful singers in the competition, and couldn't believe Misha found herself in the bottom two the previous week. I liked the little intro at the beginning before she sung and then implemented energy during the uptempo part. She really sings and can move like Tina Turner. Little Mix Perfect song for them to sing, as it's contemporary and Rhianna's music suits their style. They can already sing, move and shine like stars and that's what they did that night. By then they already had a fan base that is going to help them progress further in the competition.

My thoughts on the Live Week Shows 4 Results *Bottom Two* Sophie Didn't sing terribly, in fact far from it, she sung really well. It's just she's not yet sold herself as a high-flying contestant or even super star. Misha Just like Sophie, not a bad performance, but can't say it was the best performance she ever did so far on the live shows. *Who I think should have been in the bottom two* If it were my choice, I would have Craig join the bottom two with Sophie. *Sing Off* Sophie Her voice is without question top tier and she sung her song perfectly and displayed a bit more charisma on stage. Misha The start part of her sing off was great and the rest of her song was in tune and emotional, especially when she broke down at the end. *Who I would have sent home* Sophie Both girls sung well in the sing off, but Misha just showed more nuance in her song, and she already had the star quality that Sophie didn't have. *Sophie's X Factor Journey* From the audition stages we never really got much exposure from Sophie's first audition, her audition was shown as part of a montage. Even in bootcamp she didn't get much interviews or even had her name acknowledged by Dermot. Despite all that, every time we heard her sing she sung exceptionally well, and we can sort of understand why Kelly always championed her. Kelly got the girls and took Sophie to the live shows, and for her first live performance, she sung flawlessly. It was a surprise that Kelly kept Sophie and not Amelia, who had more star quality, but in all fairness, Sophie did sing better. Not saying that should have made her more deserving, but at least it'S a logic we can understand from Kelly's point of view. The problem with Sophie is not her voice, but her overall presence and how she stands out compared to Misha and Janet. Misha is the diva/rapper while Janet is the adorable folk singer. Sophie just looked like someone taken out of a choir group, titivated and made to sing on stage. If anything, Sophie was like another Janet, but minus the cutesiness. Now to not make this a rant about not wanting Sophie to get onto the live shows or act like I'm holding a grudge for Kelly not picking Amelia instead of her, Sophie does in fact belong in the music industry. Other than being a backing singer, she could be part of a rock band by being the lead singer, like Shirley Manson from Garbage or Amy Lee from Evanesence. This I think is Sophie's best chance in achieving some level of stardom and gaining more personality and stage presence.

My thoughts on the Live Shows Week 4 The Risk Previous X Factor contestants have tried to take this Michael Jackson monster hit and make it a rendition that actually works both vocally and appropriately. The synthesizers playing in the background was something not yet done on X Factor as part of a live show. The boys with a new member of the group sung well (a little flat in parts) and the harmonies were still there. Johnny This week being Halloween week, Johnny sings a ballad and rather outstandingly if you ask me. His voice was soothing and every note was on the mark. He more than earned the praise from both the audience and Gary Barlow, who originally wasn't his biggest admirer. Sophie So far Sophie has not botched a performance, but still lacks real stage presence or just anything that makes her different than the other girls. This week she showed more improvement, her vocals were great and nuanced, and she manifested more personality on stage. Marcus Amazing cover by Marcus, original and real fervency in the performance. You can tell how much he loves being on stage and performing for a large audience. Misha Hearing Misha was going to sing this pop song made me wonder how she was going to sing it and not ruin it, but to my surprise or not surprise she did sensational well wit her vocals. I must hand it to her for the twist she did in the middle with her own rap number, she really showed character there. Janet Again Janet sings a ballad, and that seems to be all she does. Despite that, she still sung the song fantastically. Okay, not every note was spot on, but it still worked and sounded somewhat original. Although ballads are her specialty, it's time she got out of her comfort zone for a while by singing something uptempo. Frankie Once again, great song choice and he sung it superb. His enthusiasm and ability to give an all-rounded performance is his greatest quality. Not the best singer, but for what he can sing and do on stage he doesn't need to be. Kitty What can I say about Kitty's performance, that spinning wheel she's attached too with sparks flying, an antic I will never forget. In regards to how well she sung, she sung like a star on tour, and she was basking in the moment. Powerful vocals and doggedness resulted in another great performance by Kitty. Little Mix With a change in their band name, as Rhythmix was already taken, they took on Katy Perry song and got the vocals right. Already the girls are acting like sisters and that's what a girl band should be like. Craig So far Craig has shown that he's really good at singing ballads, but this week he dares to try and sing a song that's not a ballad. His attempt in being a little more tense and three-dimensional with his voice is something he deserves respect for, but I do think it slightly affected his vocals. While not a terrible vocal performance, it was something that had to be done and needs to do it more in order to last longer in the competition.

My thoughts on the Live Shows Week 3 Results *Bottom Two* Sami If this weren't a vote and the bottom two is determined by the judging panel who performed the weakest it would not be her. Kitty Also her singing should not have put her in the bottom two, she really broke her back during her performance. *Who I think should have been in the bottom two* No one was truly deserving to face the bottom two, but in all fairness, Frankie sung the weakest, so it would have been fitting for him to be in the bottom two again. *Sing Off* Sami As expected, vocals were flawless and she really went for it and sung, as this could be her last performance on X Factor. Kitty She did what she does best, gives an all-round performance and puts her whole heart into it. If I were to compare her to Sami, Kitty showed more desperation and strong desire to stay. *Who I would have sent home* Sami Even though Sami sung in tune better, Kitty sung like she meant it and she really wanted it. Not just that, but Kitty has the image and more star quality. *Sami's X Factor Journey* Who can forget how she surprised us at her first audition with those big powerful vocals? Not the benchmark for image, but certainly voice without question. Sami walked bootcamp and reached judges' houses getting Louis as her mentor. Originally, Louis turned her down. Because Goldie who had been offered a place on the live shows chose to withdraw, Louis allowed Sami to take her place. Sami did prove to be an ideal replacement, as she sung perfectly for her first live show performance, and Louis made the right decision to pick her for his final three. Then came the public vote, and she found herself in bottom two with Kitty, as they had the least amounts of votes. Louis voted to keep Kitty in and therefore sent Sami home. In all fairness, I felt Louis did the right thing as he could see the passion in Kitty like I did. Nonetheless, Sami was justified to be given the opportunity to sing live on TV and show the public what she can do, and I hope she had her fun on X Factor despite how short lived it was.

My thoughts on the Live Shows Week 3 (part two) Frankie Rock week should not be a problem for Frankie, as rock is the genre his voice coincides with. I have to say he made one hell of an entrance. Although his vocals were far from perfect (even flat in parts), I still think he rocked and he along with Kitty were the ones who truly rocked. The Risk The boys decide to pick a song that I would call more of a soft rock song. What was best about their performance was how it didn't sound too much like the original, it had a synth-pop style, which might deviate from the rock genre but the vocals were still good. Johnny Wow, did Johnny not pick the perfect rock song? The song is considered some to be annoying, but still a classic, and he turned the song into something else. He made this song zany, novelty and most importantly, he rocked this song. Misha Okay, ever since series 5 since Ruth Lorenzo introduced everyone to this song it's been covered in series 6 and 7 and now Misha covers it in series 8. Despite how many times it's been covered, this version was different. Misha has build up with her vocals and really exerts her high notes as she belts them out. My only downside, I felt the emotion was lacking, but still I'm impressed she can rock despite being a RnB and rapper at heart.

My thoughts on the Live Shows Week 3 (part one) Marcus This week is rock week, and Marcus really rocked his song. His voice was tense and he really strutted that stage and gave one hell of a live wild performance. I know his best is yet to come, but this was a chance for him to do something different. Janet This was a very interesting cover performed by Janet, and I loved her slow take on the song. Her voice was smooth and in tune. Might not be what many consider a rock performance, but it was a rock song regardless and I loved her version. Sami I'm impressed even surprised to see Sami take control of her song choice and sing it the way she wants to sing it, and that's what she does here. Her vocals are mind-blowing and she does manifest her spirited demeanor. Little Mix For a group that seem suited to singing RnB and hip hop, it was interesting to see if these girls can rock. Unfortunately, these girls didn't rock like they were suppose to. However, they still sung and performed on stage to a very good standard, so that prevents their performance that week from falling into the bad rating. Sophie This honestly left me doubting that someone like Sophie who hasn't yet shown personality on stage could truly tackle the rock genre. What should have been the answer to getting her to come out of her shell and really express herself on stage was a mixed bag for me. Like Janet her song was slow and could have been a little tense and faster in the middle so you can differentiate between the two. Taking all of that out of account, Sophie still sung in tune, so I'll give her that. Craig Never would I imagine a singer like Craig could sing a rock song and rock at the same time. Out of all the rock songs he could be given, he gets an Oasis song, which I consider more Britpop than rock. Judging by the way it was vocally sung, Craig did have grit and tensity in his voice, so good job on singing a song that sounds like a rock song. Kitty Out of all the finalists singing rock week, Kitty's song I was looking most forward to. I love how she play piano at the beginning, unveiling another musical talent of hers. She had really good build up in the song until she really let the rock beast in her out.

My thoughts on the Live Shows Week 2 Results *Bottom Two* Nu Vibe Not terrible, but not great either, so them being in the bottom two seemed fair. Frankie Not terrible either, but certainly not who I would have considered the most deserving in the bottom two. *Who I think should have been in the bottom two* These two were not appalling, but they weren't what I call the best performances of that night either. *Sing Off* Nu Vibe Really good for a sing off, they had all their vocals in tune and the harmonies were there, so good job overall. Frankie His vocals were very rough round the edges and a bit all over the place, but he did to his credit try to implement emotion into his sing off. *Who I would have sent home* This is a hard one, because while Nu Vibe did sing better, Frankie seems to have more popularity with the audience. In all fairness, if I could, I'd send it to deadlock. If deadlock weren't an option then Nu Vibe I would have sent home. *Nu Vibe's X Factor Journey* For the first time, three manufactured groups consisting of rejected soloists were put through to the live shows, and Nu Vibe was one of them. They didn't have much chance to show what they can potentially do as a group since their X Factor journey on the live shows was short lived. While they sung well together they struggled to get their harmonies right and didn't feel united as a group half the time. Their only two live performances were good, but not good enough to get them votes and last a little longer in the competition.

My thoughts on the Live Shows Week 2 (part two) Marcus The previous week Marcus more than deserved to be kept by Gary, and this week he again did a superb vocal performance. Everything in tune and the emotion was there. Only a matter of time will prove whether he's consistent and a top 5 finalist. Little Mix Safe song choice for the girls, but it's so early in the live shows so a safe song can still be made good. The girls sung well together in harmony as well as make the song current and not replicate the original. Keep picking the right songs and these girls will get far. Misha B The previous week, Misha did a great first live performance and she did great this week too. She really had power in her vocals also really moved and shone on stage. The Risk Their first live show performance was a risk and a risk worth taking, now it's time for them to take another risk again. This week wasn't a risk, it was anything but a risk. They played it safe and it still was a rather decent vocal performance. Sophie Regarding the previous week when she sung every note perfect, and Kelly unexpectedly kept her, and this week she did great. Not as good as the previous week, but still really good. Both well sung and didn't sound like a copy. Kitty From an enthusiastic wild performer like Kitty, I was looking really forward to her performance. This is not a song I like, but I like what she did with it. The Alice in Wonderland setting was mesmerizing and her vocals were in tune. The whole performance in general was lively and vibrant, which I'm hoping gets Kitty the appreciation she deserves and not the unfair reaction she got from the audience when Louis passed her

My thoughts on the Live Shows Week 2 (part one) Nu Vibe After earning a life line by Tulisa in the hopes they will do better the previous week, this week the boys did decent. I kind of like how they made a U2 classic a dance track, despite the vocals could have been so much better. This type of music genre is how I identify Nu Vibe. Sami This song has been performed so many times by X Factor finalists, so it makes me wonder what Sami can do different. Now I have to give her credit, it didn't feel too much like the Whitney Houston version that by now has become so karaoke, which is an achievement. Sami really hit all the notes as well as belted her way through the song, already proving why she deserved to be put through by Louis. Craig Originally sung by Beyonce, a diva with a big voice and Craig turns it into a boys' song. He effused stage presence and sung in tune, so he more than deserved to be put through by Gary. Janet Kelly made the right choice by putting her through, because with the right songs Janet can really deliver. She walked last week and she walked again this week, as she sung beautifully and exquisitely. Frankie I do have to say Frankie being put through by Gary was a risk and although he is not the strongest voice out of the twelve finalists, he is good at singing rock songs. No, not every note was on key, but I felt emotion in his voice, and that I'm impressed by. Johnny Just the type of performance I would expect from Johnny, quirky and novelty, despite not labelling him a novelty act. His squeaky voice and the way he performs on stage with his dancers was compelling and engaging, so overall I liked it.
