Why does omnipod not support Samsung fold phones
How do you get this?
Hi 👋 can you adjust the maximum limit for the Insulin units you put in the pod ? Thanks
I saw my endocrinologist yesterday. I mentioned that I am looking into something better than my Medtronic system that he put me on 3+ years ago. I said possibly the Dexcom with the omnipod might be the way to go. He said the customer service with Omnipod is horrible. He said he told the local rep he isn't inclined to recommend them to any of his patients as a result.
My son has had diabetes since he was 4 this is our second pump we had the t slim and boy we love this he is so happy he is now 17 and his sugars have been so much better as his mom I have been so much more relaxed after all these years he still sneaks snacks but the Dexcom tells on him and the pod fixes it lol we love it thank you 🙏🏻
its so sad when you cant buy it for your mother because she live in another country and they keep asking for proof that Im diabetic and want my insurance 🤦🏻♂️ I can pay for it without insurance without discount I just want the device with a lot of pumps enough for 1 year to send it to my mom I give them my email and my number they call me after 3 days it was useless to wait
How many units does the Omnipod hold
I'm kinda nervous, about the pump. I am on at least 4 shots a day. Long and shot acting insulin. I got my pump yesterday Omnipod 5.
True vs this is a true shame I purchase a Samsung Galaxy s20 to and the omnipod 5 is not compatible with it
Apple best
True,
I got my Omnipod 5 today. It felt like Christmas to me. I’m so excited.💙💙💙
When it best to switch to manual mode. What if you are high glucose?
It’s a good system while fasting, but you will usually find it’s algorithm horribly lacking if you don’t live like a metronome. I find it terrible at giving enough basal and I am constantly having to bolus (not for eating just to catch up on lack of basal)or switching to manual. Omnipod needs to make lots of adjustments available for us to control the algorithm or to scrap the algorithm all together and go to a simpler system of adding insulin when you blood sugar rises and slowing or stopping insulin when blood sugar lowers. You Will find it maddening when in auto it is giving you little or no insulin as your blood sugar rises and even adds insulin at times when below your target insulin!
I have never used a pump after 30years with type 1 and I am now using the Omni 5 it is a true Game changer… my sugar control and levels are fantastic.. The only snag to me is there is no app for iPhone users… Any window of time it will be available…?
Her answer on Medicare coverage was quite a song and dance. I turn 65 in January. I have a broker looking into this. My understanding is that Omnipod is only covered under part D. Inexplicable why it’s not under part B like other pumps. Nonetheless it seems that it would be quite cost prohibitive on Medicare D.
I’m sorry they do not cover it… But any pump will be good until it is covered…
Because the Omni pod is removable and the competition is connected with a tube and is seen as permanent where as Omni pod i seen as temporary.
Is it available in Europe?
In most, but not all countries.
Fantastic video filled with honest info I needed. Thank you.
I can't wait to try the Omnipod 5. I have gone 39 years on strictly MDI. The Omnipod 5 is the only pump that has piqued my interest enough to want to give a pump a try. I've been going through the insurance obstacles at the moment since the start of June ‘22. Needless to say, I'm exhausted but persevering and staying hopeful.
Anyone know what the round and triangle buttons really for? I mean at the bottom of the controller.
Fantastic!!
I thought my body would never be the same again, but you fixed it. My heartiest gratitude to you Dr Igudia for helping me cure my type 2 Diabetes disease successfully
Type 2 diabetes is NOT a disease, it's a metabolic syndrome, you make tons of insulin but can't use it because of lifestyle or metabolic issues. .and, how have you been cured? There is no cure for type 1 or type 2! Type 1 IS a very rare autoimmune horrific DISEASE
Really excited to start the OP5 this coming week. I'm very disappointed with Insulet for only allowing Samsung mobile devices access to the app.
Device is great...customer service (a cross the board) is awful.
Thank you for the information and discussion. I’m seriously considering the Omnipod 5 and pump therapy after almost 40 years living with T1D on daily injections. Started using the Dexcom in 2021.
🙂 ᵖʳᵒᵐᵒˢᵐ
Do you have to go through the training?
Cool
Do you have to carb count To use? I’m getting my new pump tomorrow 👏🏽 😬
Yes
Yes carbs are what you count with any pump. You will also learn that the TYPE OF CARBS respond differently. For instance Chinese and Mexican foods require more insulin spread out differently.
@@kirstenkay1399 ok 👍🏽 I was on an InPen since diagnosed, just curious. Im on the omnipod 5 now and boy it’s a roller coaster 🎢
@@monat8231so no previous pump? I get mine Thursday. Did you go through the training?
@@kirstenkay1399 yeah no previous pump. Only injections via InPen. Yeah went through my insurance and completely training. On my 3rd pump today
Hello all, I don't know if it has been asked but, has anyone had issues getting approval for the OP5 through Community Walgreens and Medicare?
I have medicaid and received it through Walgreens specialty pharmacy in 2 days after my doctor sent over prescription. I live in Virginia
Im Bangladesh My old 14 and tipe 1 dibatice Im poor plz halp me🤤

What an inspiring group! Ride on and kick T1D.
Thanks for all you do!
Fantastic story! Congratulations to Blake and to everyone associated with SDRI. Your efforts and endless dedication are much appreciated.
It is very surprising there is not more interest in the fact that mounting research is demonstrating lower vitamin D levels are related to more severe cases and even death of COVID-19. To understand exactly how vitamin D modified immune system and protects against COVID-19 symptoms and death I suggest the following video. czcams.com/video/cDnokrtWJNo/video.html
Thank you so much for this great information.
Tonya you for providing this information for us all. appreciated immensely!
Thank you so much for sharing this!

I love this series! Great job and super helpful!
This is really helpful!
Love Sansum Diabetes Research Institute!! My son is 18yrs old, diagnosed T1 when he was 9yrs old. We have stayed connected with Sansum since the beginning and have gained so much from participating in lectures and presentations and clinical trials. Clinical trials are a great way to check out the latest tech. The people at Sansum create an atmosphere that is not only safe but incredibly warm, kind and alot of fun to be around!! From the moment you walk in, you feel it, your in a good place.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for your support Lisa. We are lucky to know you and your family!!
I feel so blessed to have found and be an active participant with Sansum Diabetes Research Institute - diagnosed as T1D at the 'young' age of 56 years of age, diabetes came out of no where! No family history, I'm otherwise very healthy (good diet, run and exercise regularly) so I was overwhelmed. I encourage everyone to support and participate in this amazing organization :)
Christy thank you for your support of SDRI!!
