    At 7:21 you shut off the A/C, but it may be notable that the A/C compressor runs off of the right engine, which was dead, so A/C already wasn’t working. I don’t know if the A/C system still draws electric power when that compressor isn’t running, but in any event I think you could have turned it off immediately after the engine failure with no penalty.

    • @thatflightsimchannel
      @thatflightsimchannel Před 22 dny

      That is a great point! I do remember reading about the A/C system briefly on the manual, but I don't recall anything about power to the system after the right engine has failed. Excellent point and thanks for bringing it up because during the recording, I was completely oblivious to that lol - Gonzo

      @thatflightsimchannel Před měsícem

      This could be a number of different things, but lets start out with this. Check in your tablet your electronics tab and see if you can refresh /replace/ reload the batteries. We had a similar issue once and we were having a battery over temp caution on the batt temp gauge by the co-pilot side. We then proceeded to "replace" the batteries and everything worked as it should. This aircraft will remember what ever maintenance issue you are having for the next flights, so if its not fixed, it will stay there. For example, you can see how the engine health slowly starts deteriorating as you fly the aircraft more and more. If this doesn't help or change anything, shoot us an email so we can link you to our discord and we can have a more open troubleshooting thread and help you out. Cheers and happy flying!

      Thank you for the kind words. I use TrackIR 5 for the head movement. We can’t recommend it enough and it’s a cheaper option when compared to VR kits.

    Great video! How did you manage to set up a walkaround? Like how do you get the pilot to walk around the aircraft?

    • @thatflightsimchannel
      @thatflightsimchannel Před měsícem

      I created a mission with static F-15Es and loaded up in my own F-15E across the ramp. I then ejected on the ground. When you eject from the Strike Eagle, you can walk the pilot around using your joystick. To rotate the camera you use your rudder pedals/Z-axis on your stick. For the actual “looking” motions you see, it is done with TrackIR 5. Hope this helps 👍🏼

    What's the advice?

    • @thatflightsimchannel
      @thatflightsimchannel Před měsícem

      The key advice here was focusing on the best rate of climb speed, or Vy. For a lot of novice fliers, these speeds may not really matter all that much. However, we intended to highlight that area of the video so simmers alike could start practicing by learning the aircraft's Vspeeds. Thanks for stopping by.

    Dude. The F-15 series STOPPED using "turkey feathers" on the nozzles about when the F-15C began production. The F-15E NEVER had turkey feathers. Turkey feathers were the curved plates covering and streamlining the mechanism of the variable nozzles. The F-16 still uses them. Compare an F-16 nozzle to the F-15E and you'll see the difference. Turkey feathers were also deleted from the B-1B. Also, I'm pretty sure the single-color displays are MFDs (Multi Function Displays) and the full-color displays are MPCDs (Multi Purpose Color Displays).

      @thatflightsimchannel Před měsícem

      Thanks for reply and for correcting me! I was wrongfully still addressing them as turkey feathers but, it makes total sense. And yes, you're absolutely correct with the MFD/MPCD distinction. Sometimes while I record, my brain is trying to stay ahead of the video and I tend to slip up. Instead of going back and recording again, I leave it in there so you guys can roast me.

    Im choosing between turbine and piston duke any recomendations?

    • @Fcreceptor
      @Fcreceptor Před měsícem

      The turbine is pretty fast and climbs like a rocket. A good 3000 FPM or greater. Different engines means different sounds and management. The piston version is really a loud rumble and beautiful engine sound. However, the piston climbs a bit weaker. The grand Duke with winglets and enhancements gives the piston a bit more performance in climb and speed in cruise, with lower approach speed ability. I find the turbine to be easier to manage from a pilot perspective. Close the anti-ice deflectors on or near the ground to prevent FOD and just monitoring temps overall. In icing you would also close the ice deflectors. The piston requires you open the cowl flaps on the ground and in higher temps but close for descent in most cases to avoid shock cooling. I guess in some ways the planes are both similar from a pilot perspective, but the piston is more vulnerable to damage if not managed properly. The turbine is mostly just watching temps and keeping the ice deflectors/inertial separator from letting in ice or debris. I was enjoying the piston yesterday because of the sounds and newness, but when I went back to the turbine I was excited all over again for the fast climb rate. I really think most people should buy the bundle. It’s really a worthy investment. I love them a lot.

      @@marclojak1639 I wouldn’t call the turbine too easy, as the procedures and cockpit panels are different in this aircraft. Like stated above, all three variations are lovely and each present a unique experience wether from start Up to flying performance. Highly recommend going with the bundle 🙏
