Dude I am jealous of this trooper !!! Looks like mine !!! Good tk find this chanel
Cool trooper !! Inspiring !!
Mine is a Xs so has rust around the wheel wells for the trim was
Im in Mt too !
Id like to delete what you did !!! I need tips and stuff ! Did it give it more power ? Id just be happy to clean up the engine bay. A lot of my vacuum stuff is already disconnected and runs pretty much fine
I'm litterally making a video on all that stuff right now! Should be out in a week or 2
Iv got a 88 tan like yours ! I like it. Just had to replace the thermostat by pass hose. What a bitch
dude your production is awesome!
Thanks man!
Pretty sweet!
I loved every second of this video. Makes me want an Issuezu Pooper too ngl
Where did you find headers?
I don't remember all that well it was along time ago, there's lots of cheap headers online for 4ze1s but most of them will probably be listed for a 2.3 isuzu/chevy luv instead of a 2.6, they will still fit
@@colinmcelroy3329 Thanks for the tip. I was searching for 2.6 headers and was told used Calmini or pacesetter were all that was out there. Never thought about searching 2.3 Awesome work BTW
@@colinmcelroy3329 Any mods required to get them to fit; routing the exhaust etc?
Drives it like he has 10 spare engines and calls it an 'IssueZu Trooper', classic stuff
'Promosm'
Any plans for that truck bed?
Love it!
i enjoyed this
Oh, that's a beauty. An '85 golf, only MK2 without power steering. That grill is considered very special/rare. They love them in Europe because they never got them. You could probably get all your money back selling that and the rad support. Love hearing a first start, sounds like you got the fuel primed. Your over heat problem: The small line to the reservoir is plugged. It has a restrictor you can feel, a few inches from the reservoir. Common problem, often mistaken for a head gasket. Cracks between the valves are common and didn't look too bad. You can check for straightness by removing the cam journals and lifters and seeing if the cam teeter-totters. Those were some sloppy pistons but it started and ran good. If it wasn't for the plugged coolant line restrictor...
I found the coolant restrictor second day I had the car, I removed it not knowing what it was 🤣, but it did help, still I think a large amount of air must've been getting to the thermostat and it WOULD NOT open no matter what I tried, I knew about 85 being the only no power steering year cause I've tried to do a manual rack swap out of one and had to search for the right steering shaft spline size for ages. But the special the grill I had no idea about, thanks for letting me know, and I really do wanna keep the diesel but it'll be cheaper to swap in my other 8v motor than getting a new core head and head gasket kit, and it looks like the special bracketing for diesel will bolt right up if u swap over pulleys so I can keep ac without power steering
@@colinmcelroy3329 That '85 injection pump is kinda special too. I've gotten very good smileage with them and they have the "OUT" bolt pedestal that holds the return lines above the lever.
Chain?? 😬
The pooper does not deserve respect😅
Who needs a lift, badass!💪
turbo it😂
My car dies if you dont change the gas every 300 milses or so. No idea where tf it goes.... i keep putting oil in the kittle door on the side of the car and that fixes it for a while😊
The breaks had a gas leak
It was the timing chain bro
Hey man.i bought a Golf C 1.3l tour edition. The car has 3 Doors. Is it true that these cars are getting rare? My car has 71000 km (43k miles)
As far as golf's go in general they're definitely rising in price for clean examples. I really am the wrong person to ask but the c model is the lowest base model of the golf and barely makes any power, but that being said I don't think I've ever actually seen one of the 1.3ls on the road in person so maybe a clean low milage example could be worth some money the right person
Either way wether it's worth money or not, definitely a cool and unique rig with those options
Haha we love our VW s-boxes 😂❤
At least you are proceeding in the right order. High compression 8v, the fix for the fix. Also, nice vid.
What kind of power increase did you get with the cam upgrade?
A very noticeable increase in torque down low, it'll crawl out of 1st in 4 high with no throttle input now, before it took lots
old car is the best and rugged durability.
This made my night. Awesome!
🔥
Slick this morning!
Are you in central Oregon? Sure looks like it. Also, my trooper brakes make the same noise!
Yup I live in bend, and ya loud as hell only in reverse for some reason😂
I lived there for most of my life, and we actually got our trooper when we still lived there. Ours mostly does that noise in reverse as well.
Dope video! Enjoy your troop
You must have a lucky 4ZE1 as mine has trouble starting cold under 20 C (68 F)
Ya factory theyre not great with cold starts, but theres a couple things ive done that might help. The coolant is re routed to not go through the intake, the whole vaccum end egr system is deleted, and the main thing is I have the fuel pump jumped to switched 12 volts cause for some reason they designed the wiring on the troopers so that there is no fuel prime when you turn the key and the fuel pump gets power from only the alternator while cranking, once the engine starts it switches to battery power, so if you have a weak alternator or the electrical diod that sends power to the fuel pump is messed up, It will cause a no start or weak voltage problem
@@colinmcelroy3329Thanks for the reply Colin. Mmmm, I don't believe I have an EGR valve in the first place. In Australia, it looks like the 4zD1 did (with Carb) but not the injected 4ZE1. Mine also runs on LPG and I have the same issue whether I am using petrol (gas) or LPG. I have to spray a little engine starter spray into the intake via the tube running from the PCV valve to start her up on anything but a warm day. It will start after sitting for several hours first go, but not if it is left overnight in cool or cold weather. Mine is a 1995 Holden Rodeo (made by ISUZU).
jesus dude, doing that work in December gave me chills. aside from a 40/70 cruiser I wouldnt waste my money on anything else :) my trooper has never let me down, done hundreds of way the fvck out trips including all the way to southern baja mexico solo. I trust the trooper more then anyone elses car. its saved so many people an has never needed saving. 4ze1 for the win :)
thanks man! yeah my homie made it for me. if your gonna do one, the placement i used is by far the superior placement. fits between the panels fine and has the least amount of exposed snork. @@colinmcelroy3329
This is one of the greatest videos I’ve ever seen
Where did you get you ome suspension parts
4wheelparts.com
Awsome video.. cool clips.. hilarious.!! I'll check in when i get my trooper . I mean pooper.. but it smells like roses!!
I need Trooper parts so badly. Hard to come by down here.
Ya lots of scrapyard hunting🤣
Whatever you do don't buy dnj eng8ne parts their trash
Body looks clean
Dakar rally
More….MORE (*insert Adam Driver meme here*)
I’m scooping a 94 soon, and this video made me regret wanting one so damn badly…that I’m going to personally make it my mission to make SURE I get this fucking thing. Thank you, good sir. I will soon be among the ranks.
Nice build 👌🏽 ❤
Love the sound of that 2.6
Thanks!
What lift you running
No lift in this video, the trooper 2s will fit 33s on stock body and suspension, right now im running an old man emu 1.5 in lift leaf kit with 2 leafs removed from either side and 1 inch shackle extensions, in the front I used to have heavy duty ome tortion bars bit theyre trash and way too stiff(wouldnt reccomend), so I just wound up the tortion keys a tiny bit and trimmed down the bump stops
If you were to get a front lift kit calimini makes a bunch of dope stuff and even a long travel kit that I've heard good things about, they're just overseas so there's a long wait
@@colinmcelroy3329 for sure thanks for the insight dude! I appreciate it. Yeah I just picked up a 91 and love it, been abusing it a little but way less than any other 4wd I have had haha.
Exactly how I would be driving it
Great video, it sounds like it's running great at the end! My gf just picked up an 89 trooper, this vid was inspirational.
Legit bro Troopers are complicated but worthy lol
