I played around with the outer rods specifically to see if I could reduce my in to out swing path. The nice thing is you can point them any way to get the results you are looking for or to help reduce an over-exaggerated swing path. I choose to have an inside to out swing path which brings on a draw and more distance for me but at times like to see a slight bit of a fade if I need it. I've now accomplished that with driver... although I'm not able to get it to work 100% of the time.

Gorgeous course. I typically only play a few holes but will be playing this entire course in the next couple of days. As someone who lives in the U.S., it is nice to be able to play a course that we may not be familiar with. Well built and keep 'em coming!

Thank you. It does seem to work well so I'm happy with that. One less thing to worry about. I'll have to limit my grunting and groaning. I'm happy to have finally figured out that I needed to get an hdmi to displayport adapter to take advantage of the graphics card that I'm using. Prior to that the graphics were really jittery.

It is the Fiberbuilt Flight Deck. Around $70 give or take on Amazon. Some call it a little too forgiving because the ball sorta sits up. I mainly used it because I used to hit off of the mat that you see me standing on. Hitting hundreds of balls off that mat caused pain in my wrists and elbows. The Fiberbuilt Flight Deck helped out in that regard. I know Fiberbuilt also sells a practice station that you can stand on. I had the intention of cutting into a section of my mat to insert the Fiberbuilt Flight Deck. Instead I built a DIY divot action mat and continue to use that instead. But for the price you really can't go wrong with the Fiberbuilt Flight Deck and I've kept it as my backup.

Yes. Works with driver as well. And I've tinkered with my driver in regards to putting lead tape on the bottom to increase swing weight, put in a lighter shaft and even changed out the grip from a 45 gram to 25 gram grip. While I can't say it added 30 yards to my drives, it has helped find a good range where I can maximize club head and ball speed while feeling in control of the golf club.

Very close to 19 feet by 19 feet. The width actually looked to be 19'4". It was initially a carport that the previous owner used to park his RV under. It had siding added and then garage doors on both sides. Has a natural gas heater and I'm guessing at least half a dozen outlets.I really need to add gutters and/or a rain barrel to keep out the water during heavy downpours.

I think I felt like the video was getting too long. I patched a few different days of videos together but I absolutely could use GEM with driver.

@@JerryCappuccino The weird thing for me is I felt the wobble more on the follow through. I had not been good at releasing the club. Meaning the clubface would point to the sky and the toe wouldn't turn over. So just after what would be contact, that is where I felt the wobble. Especially with the longer rod. I imagine it works differently for different golfers. The backswing is also where I needed to make sure I was on track with the ball pointing upwards.

I am still using GEM from time to time. What happens is I tend to roll my wrists in the backswing when I go too far inside and after a number of swings and recognizing this, I put the GEM on. In a matter of 10 swings with GEM, I'm back to good form again. I'm not using GEM consistently but it is good to have. Sad part is I've started rolling my forearms a little too much in the follow through on a very inconsistent basis. Like one in a dozen swings I get a nasty pull. So I should really work more with my GEM. I have not used lagshot. Got to a point I almost felt like I was buying too many gadgets if you can understand. Having said that, I did have my eye on Lagshot. Just haven't purchased. I do have something similar to the Orange Whip... called Rukket Golf Swing Trainer and if my swing goes off or if I feel like I'm losing lag, I can usually tell by feel with that product.

I still have the oval Fiberbuilt Flight Deck and use it from time to time. Have broken off a couple of tees but I have replaced with similar tees purchased on Amazon or eBay. My only dislikes about the Fiberbuilt (I like everything else) is that the ball tends to sit up high on the bristles and I would have liked to have the Fiberbuilt oval built into my mat that I stand on... meaning on the same level. I could have figured out a way to do that I suppose but instead I chose to make a sort DIY divot mat. But yes, I do still use it on occasion, especially if I go out in the backyard and hit a few into a net or hit chips (wife would kill me if I hit off the lawn). 3 holes does seem good to keep the time down but if I don't look at the course beforehand, I might be playing some of the boring or not visually appealing holes as the first 3 of that course. Someone recommended Greywalls on Discord and it looks like it was built well but at least the first 3 holes didn't put the wow factor in me.

You would need a launch monitor that integrates with third party software, more specifically GSPro. GSPro is $250 per year U.S. at the moment. I have a Bushnell Launch Pro as my launch monitor and it requires that you either have a specific yearly subscription for that device to be eligible to work with GSPro or that you've purchased an unlocked version of Bushnell Launch Pro or GC3. Each launch monitor is different in its requirements and whether it will or will not work with GSPro.

I haven't found the secret yet. Some video work does seem to help ever so slightly. I play with a couple of people who have high swing speeds. My 6'2" to 6'4" nephews and their father who hovers about the same height. Nephews hitting 300+ yard drives and it looks like a walk in the park. Pure jealousy here because I stand 5' tall when I stretch. Thanks mom and dad for the genetics. When I was younger I had some good distance thanks to powerlifting. After years of not lifting (I can still do one arm pushups), I've lost plenty of clubhead speed. So about to embark on a 30 day speed test to see if I can gain a few mph for the upcoming season. In Illinois, we are pretty much sidelined from outdoor golf til April and sometimes May.

@@dawnpatrolgolf Agreed, turns out it is less about anyone factor, but more choreographing, a handful of fundamental muscle sets, and associated timing/release issues. Speed training is one way to tackle the lag issue and I plan on spending more time on fundamental drills. They allow me to integrate the basic moves. Good luck on the hunt and enjoy the journey!

I use OBS Studio on my laptop and then my andoid phone (Google Pixel 7 Pro) uses an app called DroidCam OBS which sorta syncs into the laptops OBS Studio with an ip address. So yes, I am using an entire recording session. You will see my good shots and bad. I then use something called Shotcut on the laptop to do any editing. The only editing you'll see with Operation 36 Golf is just cutting off the very start of turning on the OBS Studio software or closing down the software when I'm finished. My laptop is a Lenovo with a 2060 card. I think I have 16GB of memory but don't quote me. It may be 32GB. Still, it does start lagging when I am running too many things. So I need to turn off Chrome, Edge, Discord, and anything else. I also run GSPro on medium or on more demanding graphic courses, it will definitely lag. So... you are my hero. I am currently building a Johnny Cash PC. Meaning one piece at a time. I've bought the case, a 4TB hard drive, the power supply and a cooler. Next purchase will be RAM and that might be this week or the next. Definitely budgeting with a planned finish date of April 1st. I am trying to future proof so I may get 64GB of fast ram and I'm looking at either the 4070ti or the 4080 if I can find a good price. Any recommendations would be appreciated! I haven't attempted Level 10 on Operation 36 Golf. In fact, it has been 3 weeks since I've been in my golf cave because we had family staying with us before and through the holidays. I would have felt guilty (sorry mom... going to the golf cave) so I haven't picked up a club in 3 weeks. My wife was kind enough to get me a 7 wood for Christmas so I'm looking forward to that. I'm sure Level 10 will tax out my lack of distance and consistency, especially with the layoff but if it takes me a dozen tried, eventually I'll succeed.

Now that you mention your configuration it would probably be best if split the HDMI cable from the computer to the projector, running the other port to my secondary laptop to record the video on the projection screen. I suspect it would be asking too much to run a screen recorder on my golf simulator computer (factory speed on Intel Core i9 10920X 3.5GHz Twelve Core 19.25MB and Crucial 64GB Ram DDR4-2666, running SSD drives). Since you're planning to purchase your GPU to 2Q24, you might want to be on the lookout for a 4070ti with 16GB when it becomes available. If you go with a 4080, remember to properly size your PSU and proper cables. Even on the 4070ti running a paltry 300 Watts I found I needed another 2 foot PCIe 8 pin cable. And since the cable on my former 2070 had a daisy chained splitter to the second 8 pin connector on the GPU. Just be sure you FIRMLY secure your cable to avoid intermittent crashes or worse, overheating or a fire. I've only been up and running on my GS Pro for a few weeks and only gone through the first few levels with holiday guests, spending most of my time on the range to my improve lag and speed. It was hard to bite the bullet going from the Garmin R10 launch monitor to a Uneekor Eye Mini along with 2 Uneekor Swing Optic high-speed cameras, but their View software does a fantastic job recording and saving the Face View and Down The Line angles. And the View software connector to GS Pro still runs in the background so on one of my four monitors I can not only see the club path and impact point coming from the Uneekor Eye Mini but also see the video from all my swings in 1x, 1/2x 1/4x speed as well as scrub the playhead to really analyze my swing. Talk about being spoiled! Happy golf trails and New Year.

@@CaliforniaTravelVideos Sounds like you have a very nice setup. I mean very nice! I didn't know much about Eye Mini when doing my research so I pulled the strings on a Bushnell Launch Pro. Coming from the SkyTrak which had just announced SkyTrak+, I had no regrets. Backing up further, I used to have a Rapsodo R-Motion which hooked up to the golf club. Not the greatest of technology but it worked and allowed me to play TGC Original (not TGC2019)... until Rapsodo discontinued supporting the R-Motion. Anywho, I got a great price on the BLP with a Golfer's Journal discount at the time and then a few months later I upgraded and unlocked the unit for club data, basically making it the equivalent of a GC3. Yes. I see where they are coming out with Super versions of the 4070, 4080, etc... I'll have to find a website that shows benchmarks before I make a purchase. I bought a 1000 watt power supply so hopefully will be good with that. be quiet! BN516 Straight Power 12-1000w 80 Plus Platinum. Thank you for your tips above. I'm jealous of the camera views that you have available. I have a camera which I can point to the ball if I have enough light but haven't really had a chance to play with it yet. It needs a lot of light. I'm kinda rural and my friends that I play with on the course are all about 20 miles away or so. So unfortunately (even though they are all righties), they don't come to my house. I wish I could get an indoor league going with my friends but I'm still more than happy to use the golf cave myself. Just dropped off a family member so I'll be able to step foot in the golf cave for the first time in a few weeks.

​@@dawnpatrolgolf Good on ya - seeing all the planning, due diligence and hard work ($$$ too!), I'm sure you'll be making sound choices as we all do tweaking all the GS gear in our man caves. And agreed, especially when capturing lots of frames per second, an abundance of light is our friend. I have a handful of 1K LED panels with barndoors yet only use 2 at 90 degree angles from the screen with all the light scattered everywhere. So I added a Neewer CB200B 210W LED Video Light and the Bowens Mount makes a somewhat effective snoot but I still can drape a curtain partway across one side so it doesn't splash on the screen. Anyway, for $225 it's a real bargain compared the video lights costing over $1,000 and the Neewer even comes with a remote bluetooth that allows changing light intensity and color temperature. As an alternative some folks are fine with the Satco 33W PAR38 3000K High Lumen LED from BulbAmerica.com One alternative to going the Uneekor Swing Optix route and a bit easier on the pocket book might be this option at Carl's and use the Kinovea software: shop.carlofet.com/uneekor/carls-golf-swing-cameras. Of course there's always gotchas like many DLP projectors will cause the video to pick up a strobe flicker in the background if that bothers you on the Down The Line shot (not an issue on the more important Face On view since the camera isn't facing toward the screen. I did build a control box and had it hooked up to work with SkyTrak (when I had that launch monitor) but have not hooked it up to or configured it to work with my Bushnell Launch Pro. It used to make any slight changes (umm err mulligan, etc...) much easier to just push a button that was sitting next to my golf clubs rather than walking over to the laptop.

Full tee box is considered levels 6 thru 10.

Thank you. I had my gas heater fired up but should have started it a half hour before playing. I'm happy to be able to play when it gets this cold outside so I shouldn't complain. I am thoroughly enjoying playing Operation 36 Golf and it is challenging for me. Wish they had something other than what looks to be just distance increases but hey, I need the practice. I'm looking forward to getting through Level 10 (even if it takes a dozen times) and then playing a round or two on some newly built courses.

I do have an idea that I’m going to try the next time I’m out there. I’ve already dragged out a plugin heating pad that I’m going to use to heat the golf balls before and during play. At least something will be warm.

@@davidevans485 It is actually a very good idea. The other thing is you can sorta wrap a large HotHands around a couple of golf balls to initially warm them up. I thought about putting a couple near my gas heater just to make sure they didn't feel like I was hitting a cement ball (when the temps are something like 35 and under when I initially step in my golf cave).

This is part of the GSPro software. I have a Bushnell Launch Pro launch monitor. Others use SkyTrak or Mevo+, etc... I imagine you could play against your friends if you gave each of them a username before playing the game.

Do you mean play against each other in the same sim room? If so, that’s absolutely possible. You can play with as many as 8 players and there are multiple options like stroke play, match play, scramble and alternate shot. You can also play online against other players all over the world with everyone playing in their own sim room. GSpro is awesome!

@@MillerLite6970 I completely agree. And then signing up to Simulator Golf Tour, getting a handicap, and playing against folks from around the world adds another level of play. From time to time I get in on the weekly tournaments and it gets your mindset from a playing for fun to hey... I need to concentrate on getting a good strike.

Sure. It is 8' by 8'. I made the cage myself using pieces of emt purchased either through Home Depot or online (for the elbows). I purchased an 8' x 8' impact screen from Ebay but to be honest, I didn't think the picture was the greatest on the impact screen. So upon recommendation of someone on an online forum, I bought a photographers background screen in white and put that over the top of the impact screen. It made the picture better but the screen that I hit into now is a little wavy. I do tighten it from time to time. The "cage" was purchased when I live in a different house a couple of years ago. So I literally could go out another couple of feet in width, especially if I were to remove the garage door rails on each side. I do hit it over the top of my cage from time to time with my 60 degree wedge. That could probably be rectified if I moved another foot closer to the cage/screen... currently about 8 1/2 feet away.

@@Max-gz2of The height sounds great. If you are connecting to a projector, I would just make sure it is compatible with the height and width. My laptop allowed for a 1080x1080 which works well with the 8 feet x 8 feet. You are definitely right. I'm one to not read directions but I should have before playing Operation 36 Golf. Makes absolute sense that you need to score 36 or under to progress to the next level. The only thing I didn't know with the beta version I downloaded for GSPRO was if it would actually progress to the next level if I were to get a good score. I've gotten up to and passed the 150 yard skill test now and should be doing 200 yards next. I might have to put down a tee (not sure if that would be considered legal or not) to be able to hit one 200 yards.

You are going to need a subscription with BLP. You either work with Foresight to get a BLP unlocked if they are still offering it or purchase a GC3. Otherwise you will need to have a subscription. I believe Basic is still free for the first year and you should be able to see ball flight although you will not have club data. Gold will provide that club data along with courses you can play from Foresight. You can integrate GSPro for play but then again, you will need the gold subscription, GC3 or an unlocked BLP.

I get very close results when hitting the ball or not hitting the ball with driver. I actually heard that some people see less mph when hitting a ball only because the thought process is they are not continuing with their swing after striking the ball. Not sure if that makes sense or not. But after warming up, this 58 year old guy is swinging 87mph to 91mph on average although I have a 95mph (hitting the ball) on my chalkboard. So to answer your question, if I do a dry swing using driver with no ball, I might swing 90mph and then if I place a ball down, I am almost always right about the same exact swing speed. I've been using the HH-Golf Swing Speed Trainer but the increases in speed only happen for me as I'm using the product. In the summer golfing season this year I hadn't continued using it, so I lost about 4-5mph off my swing. Note to self: continue using the product.

Interesting! I'm on the extreme. I can reach about 120 mph with no ball, but only 95 mph with a ball in front of me. With a 7 iron around 100 but max 85 with a ball. Maybe a mental thing 😅

@@ZukhiniZ That is interesting and possibly a mental thing. I would say that if you can wrap your head around it, go to the driving range and plop a ball down on a tee (even if a 7 iron). Make sure you swing through the ball and not at the ball. So have a full follow through ending up on your front foot. Course I'm one to talk because I oftentimes have an abbreviated follow through which I've been told is almost a stoppage of the swing going through impact, which would reduce swing speed. So I would take swings and just let the ball get in the way.

Thank you for your response. I will try it and work on it! I started playing golf last year and started doing some speed training and saw speed gains without a ball. But not with a ball.

For me it was going between 88 mph and 91mph most of the time. Very consistent.

Looking forward to it. LIV Golf puts on a very nice event and I attended last year at Rich Harvest Farms. Yeah, me being old school it is a little weird that music is going on but it makes sense golfers can be comfortable and wear shorts. The shotgun start is nice, so you can find your favorite golfers and plant yourself at maybe the 7th hole or 17th hole. The food choices are very good and it is nice to walk the course because for the most part (besides some collegiate play) it is only open to private members/those who are invited to play.

Except I don't get paid. Honestly. I like the product for getting the club along the right path. For me, it has helped to not roll my wrists on the takeaway. Here we are a month after I initially put up this video and I used GEM just a couple of days ago to get a good "feel" in my golf swing.

LOL. Very much appreciated! It was for the bench press in my weight class and I was considered to be a submaster for the age group. So I think it was 30-39 age group. I'm 58 years old now so it was some time ago. In the month or so since I posted this video, I've cleaned up the golf cave slightly. I'll probably wait til I can trod through the snow on the way to the golf cave before shooting another video.

The same idea is used with the short rod. This time, trying to have the rod facing upwards and not going off side to side (like rolling the wrists). You do feel the extra weight but it is negligible, especially as compared to the long rod. For myself, I almost feel like I need to record my swing to make sure I am doing the moves properly. I say that especially as it applies to the short rod. So attempting to keep the rod pointing up both in the backswing and then in the follow through. With the short rod only, you can keep the rod in place as you hit balls. I think above all else, it helps me to keep the clubface as neutral as possible coming through the hitting zone. Whereas if I rolled my wrists or even did the exact opposite, I may have issues in centering the clubface as I'm hitting the ball.

Thanks for your reply on the short rod. As the rod goes through impact and to follow through. It is also rotating from 12 AM to 6 PM on clock face. Seems almost impossible to not get some wobble occurring through M pack. Is that correct. Otherwise great insight for me. Thanks, John.

For me, I've come from using SkyTrak and they asked that you get the bottom of the unit at the same level of the hitting surface. So I've continued on that same line of thought with the Bushnell Launch Pro and according to Bushnell... "If you are using a hitting mat, make sure the Launch Pro is raised to the same level as the hitting surface." So I just have my BLP sitting on two pieces of wood at the moment. Oh, unlike SkyTrak where you pretty much needed a shank case, that isn't required with BLP... although I do see a couple of offerings for a case with BLP.

Thank you. I am a 16 handicap which sometimes teeters towards 18. I am 58 years old. Had a stroke of brilliance a few years ago where I shot a -1 on a 9 hole course with seven par 3's and two par 4's. Maybe 8 or so years ago I had a lesson where I was literally told I need to do something about my out to in swing path, hitting slices, and losing lag right from starting my downswing. Not sure how or when but at some point I started hitting draws and hooks. So the goal is to straighten out my path and straighten out my shots. This product and having a better grip will hopefully get me there.

I removed the ferrule prior to using the shaft/clubhead extractor but that was part of the plan. Bought a bunch of ferrules from Amazon for future use. I've now used this product a few times. If it is a one off, sometimes you can just grab some thick gloves, heat the hosel of the club and after a minute or two you should be able to remove the clubhead. I've done that in the past. How did you remove ferrule prior to heating clubhead?

@@tcruz86 I'm sorry. I should have clarified. I heated up the ferrule with a butane torch and then just used a utility knife to remove. It only takes like 20 seconds and then that ferrule was thrown out. I have a number of different size ferrules, some with a single stripe, double stripe, black, and other colors so replacing it was not an issue. In the past I've also used a heat gun to remove the ferrule but it takes a little longer.

Good luck to you as well. My golf game is far from perfect. As I'm getting older I'm just trying to get what I've lost.... ie swing speed and accuracy. I thoroughly enjoy having my golf cave at home so I'm making the most of it as time allows. I have a couple of friends who have retired early and play in golf leagues or with others during the week (while I'm working) so it seems like I play less on the actual golf courses lately. But yeah, I enjoy using different golf aids and figure if it helps me or can help another, I'll talk about it. The PRGR works great in keeping track of my clubhead speed without using a ball and is the only device I have for doing that. Years ago I had (actually I still have) the Rapsodo R-Motion. The problem became that Rapsodo stopped supporting the device and I couldn't use it with updated software. I no longer have the SkyTrak. I sold that but did purchase a Bushnell Launch Pro just a couple months ago when I got a great deal on it.

@@breeze787 The Bushnell has been treating me well. The first thing I noticed right off the bat thanks to having club data was that my in to out swing path has to be dealt with. I never really had any issues with the SkyTrak I owned. Absolutely loved it with the exception of short pitches with my 60 degree wedge. So the Bushnell Launch Pro is perhaps taking it up a notch. And I will get a video out on the BLP. Need to do that and someone asked about doing a walk thru with my Golf Cave.

My golf cave is 19' x 19' and 8 1/2 feet high. The height works fine for me because I am about 5 feet tall on a good day. It was a carport and the previous owner who is an Instagram influencer with powerlifting (he would rather be called Alpha) had it sided, put an entry door and garage door on the front and then a garage door on the back as well. He ran natural gas and electric to the golf cave. He had it cemented over and put OSB on the walls and ceiling. Quite warm in the summer. He did have a ceiling fan but I had to remove it because otherwise I would strike it with a swing.

I finally put a dot on a few clubs yesterday to get clubhead data out of BLP. I still need to decipher what it means. I agree that the subscription to BLP can be expensive. I am 90% sure I will stay at the Basic Plan unless they somehow incorporate GSPro into a different plan.

Actually, I have nothing to do with the company. Simply trying to find better ways to build and repair golf clubs in my golf cave for myself and buddies.

Caleb, I removed a clubhead from a graphite shaft with my 8 iron recently. It was just being very careful to heat up the hosel in increments of maybe 30 seconds (going around the club nearly the entire time). The first couple of attempts at removal failed. I didn't want to strain the shaft so I was being extra careful. So I just heated up the hosel a little more and on the 3rd attempt the clubhead was removed. I honestly was a little apprehensive and didn't want to cause any damage to the shaft. I'm also trying to not scorch the hosel by keeping the heat in place for too long at any one time.

Compared to 30 years ago, just about all driver heads are huge. I think it is an optical illusion with being close to the camera. The driver head is a Cobra Radspeed XB. I think the driver head survived. Need to check on the adapter as well.

For me it is very consistent, especially without a ball. Not just saying that. When I get warmed up. I will consistently have speeds within a few mph of each other on driver swing after driver swing. I think the key is to make sure you have the device setup about 3 1/2 to 5 feet inline with and behind where the ball would be. When I swing, the device is also setup about the same height as where the ball would be as well. So maybe a couple inches off the ground.

Same here. I use a swing speed trainer from HH-Golf but If you put forth the effort with a driver (using a ball or not), the PRGR is a great device at a nice price that can let you know how your speed training is going. Heck, in past years I would lose 10-12 yards over the winter and have to get back in golf shape. Just having this is a reminder to keep my driver speed up.

Yes. You can take the PRGR to the range or use outside with a net. About the only prerequisite is that you have about 3 1/2 feet to 5 feet behind you to place the unit. This launch monitor is small so you can practically put it in your pocket (or golf bag) for travel.
