There are 206 bones in the human body. This gentleman estimated some 200 fractures of those bones. It is actually a miracle if his body was found intact and not fragmentized.

Weather conditions were good for that Flight. There was no ‘Blizzard’ or ‘Snowstorm’. They had good visibility with only light, blowing snow flurries. Even the photos of the crash site from when the sun came up that Morning shows a very light dusting of snow on the aircraft wreckage. Iowa in 1959 would be very similar to flying over water. Not much, if any visual references to the ground NW of Mason City in 1959. Pilot simply climbed, held a brief altitude and likely began filling his flight plan, which he oddly enough didn’t do before departure. That was likely the beginning sequence to the crash, as he took his eyes off his Instruments, (He had a good amount of time in N3794N, and with the Sperry Gyro/Attitude Indicator) but began a very shallow descending right bank, that increased in rate of descent and bank until he realized in the last seconds, either from looking at his Six Pack or one of the passengers saying something and that was that. Artist Mark Karvon painted the scene of N3794N taking off from Mason City at approximately 01:00AM, 02/03/1959, depicting the correct weather and even what N3794N looked like with the help of an expert/historian on the crash and of that Bonanza. I always wondered what it looked like before the crash as no discernible photographs of it exist before the accident. Only what it looked like in that cold field February 3, 1959. The painting is a very poignant piece. And shows the correct weather conditions, what the Bonanza looked like as it rotated off Runway 17 and 5 minutes later into History.

That's as close to seeing a human enter heaven as you'll ever see on earth.

The crash site photographs seem to indicate all but the pilot were ejected. Buddy Holly and Richie Valens' bodies are seen face down in the snow outside the aircraft.

Very interesting I've seen different videos on the exhumation but have recently learned that the son supposedly sold the old casket on E-bay but it ended up being sold to a museum, I mean who sells an old used casket? that's just wrong.

His loser son had him dug up just to swap to a free coffin so he could sell the old one. There was no medical reason to dig him up. Sick bastard just wanted to see a dead body and make some money.

Every one seemed so subdued. Even when they were outside they seemed so quiet. I guess the smell of burnt earth was weighing on everyone. Thank God everyone is safe.

Not really quite "free free", but yeah, probably even better for them than truly free, given where they are now after so long in captivity. With things a little easier than the "hunt for food or die" of true freedom. Four squares and lots of room to be free enough. Still got walls though, but hey, food is cool.

His father was still basically a young kid still.. frozen in time. back in a really good time in our history. When music made more sense, when people were nicer and respected each other. all them guy's were practically kids! especially Richie AND Buddy. But what an Ominous feeling that had to be, not only looking down at your dad you've never met and still so young, and probably around the time his son was actually being conceived! I mean.. that's just mind blowing!? But he's looking down at a time before all this other music began.. It would almost feel like you were in 1959 again. but only for that short time. Looking at a legend.. BEFORE he was a legend. death made them all the legends they are today. Edit: Don't get me wrong, they would've been legends even if they never crashed or died.. not what I mean. but death makes these early celebs instant legends. just like a thousand other ones we know. SRV, Jim Morrison, Patsy Cline, John Denver, Randy Rhoads..etc. Death.

The Big Bopper is my favorite of those 3 singers. He isn't a one hit wonder and could have surely had more hits if he lived longer. They died too soon.
