      @kellybench4638 I love my kicker bar. It's definitely premium and easy to install. It's also expandable with an extra pre amp RCA output with signal wire for additional amp control for additional speakers if you want... I can not speak to JBL but I can say I would always choose kicker over JBL. I do see the JBL has lights...kicker does not...but honestly I believe the kicker to be a better choice and very well thought out.

      @webberfan1234 Honestly, it's a very simple addition, but I personally do not think it's needed. This sound bar sounds great and is full range, unlike so many others on the market that sound like tweeters only. Plus, I use my machine on my property for actual heavy work, and its bed is used daily for these chores so I do not know where a person could put a sub that would make the effort worth it. Plus, being an open cab, it probably would not contain very well.

    • @arboyd81
      @arboyd81 Před měsícem

      @311hitwall no mine is a 2200, but it does not matter. There is no difference in spindle design. Call Ferris to verify, but IF you are passing grease out the top seal and not the weeper when greasing the spindles, you definitely have an issue. When a seal is damaged from use or assembly, it will pass grease. Even new good seals can pass grease, but the design is for you to push grease until the weeper weeps fresh grease. I am also telling you... mine had nowhere close to enough grease from the factory....so if you ran 32 hours on no grease, you probably heated the bearing and damaged the top seal. When I say no grease from the factory, I mean it. These spindles use a shitload of grease. I put I'm 30 pumps per spindle every mow nowadays, and that is just really a top off from the @ 100 pumps it takes to fill the spindle on my volume setting.

    My new ISX 800 had Red N' Tacky in one side but not the other. I assume the dealer forgot to finish the job. I found there was quite a bit of pressure in the tube after knocking the cap back on. When I removed the grease zerk to put the bolt back in, a lot of grease squirted out. So, I let it depressurize, removed an extra slug with a small screwdriver for the size of the bolt shank, and screwed the bolt back in. No pressure on the seal. Same in the dealer side.

      Being brand new means very little with these mowers. Nothing was done correctly... and I mean nothing. No connection rod lube. No spindle lube. Bent blades. Water filled casters. Deck out of proper adjustment. Tire air pressure all over the place. These mowers need a very good service day 1. They are not made by machine and have many points where failure in production quality or things just not done right takes place. For this video, which is only one of a few, the casters were full of water, which will cause early bearing failure. Think of a boat trailer... you must repack every season. The casters are just like trailer bearings, especially if you wash your mower often. I guess the idea of a new mower being dialed in and 100% perfect from the dealership is a foreign concept to me. I guess if you are use to craftsman riders or the homedepot special, then this level of attention may just be out of your wheelhouse, as they will mow just not professionally...not trying to offend you, just trying to outline reality.

    My father-in-law I think just bought a 2024 model they looked into this. They were quoted $2100 for the kit and labor 900 for the kit 1200 for the labor when they asked why so much in labor they tried to explain to them it is the way the wires have to be ran. I’m all people doing things themselves. They make no mistake of that, but there is a reason they’re charging you so much labor to try to do this job.

    • @arboyd81
      @arboyd81 Před 2 měsíci

      Ya, I do not doubt that at all. In my opinion, XTC makes the best kits and is spot on! Their kit runs like $340, and then it takes about 8hrs on the ground or probably around half that or less with a lift and helper. It is plug and play, which really makes it simple for a DIY with minimal technical knowledge.

    Hello, I greased my ISX800 until the grease came out of the hole under the deck it was a lot of grease like everyone agrees. After greasing mine though it has vibration when I engage the blades, it wasn’t there before greasing. It goes away after a few minutes I presume after the grease warms up a bit. I’m just wondering what if any damage it’s doing to to the belts and parts involved. Should I try pumping a thinner grease in there if so what would you suggest. Thanks

    • @arboyd81
      @arboyd81 Před 2 měsíci

      No vibration can be caused by greasing the spindles. Make sure your engine is at full throttle before engaging the blades. Also, you may have a blade that is off balance or damaged. That can cause vibration. Especially true, if you sharpened and did not check for the balance of the blade before you reinstalled. Last, you may have a spindle that is failing. You seriously have to grease these before every large job, or if you are a homeowner and have a small yard- say less then 2 acres - you can get like 5 mows before you need to grease. Running the spindles dry will cause damage. I never mow more than 10 acres without greasing.

    • @mikebrown618
      @mikebrown618 Před 2 měsíci

      @@arboyd81 like I said the vibration began immediately after I greased the spindles until the grease squirted out of the vent holes in the spindle housing under the deck. I used the same grease as used on the chassis that is called for by Ferris. I know it’s not a blade or spindle that is bent because it’s a new mower and I haven’t hit anything. If it were a problem in that area it would not stop vibrating after it warmed up. Mine will gradually stop vibrating after some minutes of running the deck. I tried what you said and did try it at full throttle and I thought the belt was going to fly off. I’ve tried it at every throttle position and the only way I can minimize the vibration is to engage the deck at the lowest speed. The only thing I can determine is the grease is too thick for the spindles and causing resistance from the tackiness of it. I’m just wondering what grease I should try on it, or maybe I need to get in touch with Ferris and see if they have dealt with this. Thanks for your reply

    • @arboyd81
      @arboyd81 Před 2 měsíci

      @mikebrown618 Ferris suggests Red and Tacky #2, and it is just not possible for grease to cause blade vibration. You definitely have something out of balance or installed improperly! Have you measured your blades to make sure they have the same height from the ground? Have you taken your blades off and checked for level in the blade by laying them on a flat service or using a long straitedge. You also need to use a nail in the wall to check for balance by hanging the blade and making sure it does not have a heavy spot. It's possible you have a bad spindle. You can check that by taking your belt loose and feeling each blade spin and / or using a small prybar to check for bearing looseness. It's pretty easy to find a balance issue. You just need to check everything! You should be able to engage the blades at full throttle with just normal start-up vibration. I.e. you have to be able to turn the blades on and off while operating at full throttle for everyday use. If you think there is so much vibration that the belt can jump, my guess is you have a bad spindle. They are a manufacturer part for Ferris, so it's possible you have a defective part! Last, if you are fortunate to have a thermal image gun, you can go mow and then check the Temps of each part and look for heat variations from bearing drag. A handheld Lazer thermometer can also work, but they are not very sensitive like a thermal cam.

    • @arboyd81
      @arboyd81 Před 2 měsíci

      @mikebrown618 One more point... these mowers have a warranty, and if you can not find the blanance issue, you absolutely need to take it in for a professional to evaluate. Deck vibration will cause spindles to fail extremely fast. I also wanted to mention that I had a bent blade on mine brand new. I thought it was due to loading it on a trailer or demo/store use at some point before I bought it. Or maybe at the factory it got hung up or hit will moving or loading. It was a difference of about 1/4 in over the run of the blade. Which, I did have vibration, but I was able to see the problem just by spinning the blades by hand until the tips lined up and it was very clear. Those blade are thick, but they can be bent when you consider how heavy the mower is, and if it got hung up on a trailer loading deck, as in, the apex of the trailer ramp. Then, about a year after I had it... I caught a blade on my trailer and bent it about 1/2" while I was unloading. For me, if I don't push my lift pedal all the way down when loading and unloading, I can strike a blade on my trailer deck/ramp apex.

      @angelmunoz501 I also think maybe the pivot won't go flat like other little giants. This means you can't use it like an extension ladder, only A frame.

    What size heat shrink do you use? Thanks!

    • @arboyd81
      @arboyd81 Před 3 měsíci

      After time the heat shrink failed to work as desired. I ended up just taping it with silicone heat tape. Worked way better.

    Why not just put a grease fitting where the plug is?Simple fix

    Anytime I've ran wiring (winch and backup lighting) I've ran it from the front to the back. Easier to have wires go down. I've got a signal kit from another company and it would be a huge PITA to run back to front because the bundle has a large connector on the front end of the loom.

    • @arboyd81
      @arboyd81 Před 3 měsíci

      I hear you, but absolutely not the case with this brand. It would be 10 times worse to attempt to run from the front back.

    • @arboyd81
      @arboyd81 Před 3 měsíci

      Additionally, with this brand, if you ran reverse, you would have a very large bundle of wire that you have to route through tight spots. I.e. the turn signal right/passenger side bundle that is not able to be quickly disconnected. When running from the rear to the front, you only have the main harness, which is much easier to snake and just simply put much easier and makes much more sense. I would say it probably depends on the brand and how they connect to each corner and then integrate into the module.

    Same problem, purchased late 2023. Sent back for warranty of trigger and received same grips back, with a trigger that failed again right away.

      @@arboyd81 I'm almost glad it failed so I could see just how garbage the wood grip design is. The plastic grips have a dovetailed semicircle that secures the grip in the front and limits lateral shifting. This is completely absent from the wood grips, leaving them just cantilevered out from the grip screws and kept from shifting by pressure alone. Their warranty failure was completely ridiculous though.
