The video feed didn't start to fade until about 1 mile away, I was using the range extenders for this flight. The farthest point was 1.08 miles. Yes, I had line of sight at all times and as you can see there was mostly just prairie grass down below.

Ha ha ha! I'm a Vance Godson and spent a few years in the flooding in the 60s. Good when it floods across the river in the Winter during duck season. Love the old camp.

when i was younger we always rode that mini railroad, and it was really scary to get that close to the edge of the trinity river lol great flying!

Today, mine did exactly this. I thought that I still had plenty of power. But when it went into this mode, I freaked! It scared the hell out of me. lol. The cool thing was, it landed just about 3 foot away from where it left the ground. Awesome feature. I love this thing! I'm glad that I bought Autel!

I have the Free X also and changed my limits in the software to "NO LIMITS" yet I can't get past 1,000 ft range. The stock set up says it can get up to 3,000 ft but I am not getting anything close to that. Did you do anything different? did you add a booster to the transmitter?

What battery you using some say they use 5400 stock is 3000 you tried bigger only had one flight with mine so windy awesome quad love it
I have 3000 and 4500, but anything bigger than 3000 won't fit in the standard fuselage, I have a two battery harness rig I got from park model RC
How get past flight restrictions some get 750 meters 1 year ago some say 50 meters distance 100 meters height any help
You have to plug it into the computer and use the freex software to change the limits to 1000meters

Nice flight! Never been brave enough to try RTH with mine, after seeing how many times Phantoms used to go berserk and fly away trying that! I was surprised how long it took to actually land, after you started the RTH operation - not something to try with a low battery I guess. Good job!
Thanks! Yes, it takes it a while to complete it, but pretty impressive that it's capable of it. So far I haven't had any problems with RTH, I have had it go haywire in mid flight before while flying in GPS mode.

No, I do not. But someone else told me I should update it.

I use a R305 receiver and a TS353 transmitter with a SJ4000 camera in TV mode. Is that what you needed?
you can upgrade the new 4.0 firmware.you can try it
After taking it apart, I discovered one of the three wires that the motors are soldered to popped off, that's what cause the crash.
+doshis Could you find if was a bad soldering or that is a weak feature in the design? I would check mine just in case. For now, I am not flying (a problem in my right shoulder) Next year, I will resume my FPV practice. By the way, do you know that yesterday James Peng published one of your FreeX videos in the Facebook Freex Group? The one under the W 7th Brigde?
+Antonio Vargas I believe it was just a bad soldering job. Wouldn't hurt to inspect all 12 of those solders though! No, I had no idea he posted my video. What is the name of the group? I searched freex group but didn't know which one it was.

+Antonio Vargas Nope. Only thing I can figure is I didn't tighten the prop down enough. May during a sudden reverse motion from the prop it screwed all the way off??? I will tighten them down hard before each flight from now on. At least it didn't happen while I was over the water!!!

I bought a DIY FPV kit from Hobbywow.com Here is the link. www.hobbywow.com/en-diy-fpv-combo-f-2d-camera-gimbal-sj4000-camera-sj4000-av-cable-fw70a-monitor-ts353-rc305-p237684.htm Fairly easy to set up, after some troubleshooting with the tilt control. It takes some time to get used to. Very strange feeling when flying FPV, definitely easier learning on a monitor than goggles.

Antonio Vargas You're welcome. No, the kit does not include the OSD, you have to get that separately. If I remember right I bought mine from parkrcmodels.com

Thanks for sharing. You are a brave pilot indeed! How did you manage to fly back home in the darkness? Did you switched to the RTH mode?
Antonio Vargas Thanks! It was scary. I relied completely on the FPV system to navigate, more specifically, the OSD system on my monitor. It has compass headings, altitude, distance from home and even an arrow pointing which direction home is. I LOVE the OSD FPV system.

hi. im thinking about buying this quad. when did u buy it and do u have any probs? i cant afford to buy a quad that is prone to flyaways and such.
I bought it about two months ago and haven't had any problems so far. Flown about 30-40 flights so far. Love it.

Nice flight! I didn't think the SJ4000 could stream and capture video on the memory card at the same time... So what were you using for the FPV set up?
I used the SJ4000 to record on the SD card and stream it to my fpv monitor. I just switch the SJ4000 to "tv mode" before each flight, which sends the feed to the transmitter.

I have the same setup with Gopro3, did you find the up and down feature of moving the gimbal/cam was super sensitive?
gsxrsrad1000 Actually, I haven't even been able to get my tilt control of the gimbal to work yet.
