I totally agree with big_hamisch768 and others here, in that I very much think this great song suffers from being slowed down in its performance. It is, after all, a battle anthem, a call to arms and an exhortation to defend freedom and to fight for those who have denied that freedom as their right. As such, while I will not criticise those whose choose to sing it at a pace of slow and stately reverence, I do very much believe that it deserves instead a joyful, stirring, martial pace!
