A Mosie (silver with red stripe) flew within a mile or so of our house this afternoon - First time I've seen one in flight. Day before yesterday.... 6 P47 Thunderbolts & 2 P51 Mustangs flew directly over us in formation (Sound was gorgeous) I suspect they're practicing for the big D Day event at IWM Duxford first two days of June

This is a rare treat. Only 30 of over 7700 Mosquitoes have survived to this day and of those only 5 are airworthy although another 7 are being restored. The plywood they were made out of did not stand the test of time. Thank you for posting this. The Mosquito was truly a remarkable bird.

Nice P51 K...Seeing the Mustang and the Spitfire flying together like that is just awesome!!! It would have been GREAT if the Mustangs were available in 1940, to fly with the Spits and the Hurricanes... It would have turned into the Battle of Britiain version of the Marianas 'Turkey Shoot' ....

So NZR only trusts it's rebuild process that EF 30226 can only pull a Pulp train to Karioi, I get the impression that management at NZRail are keener on the DL than the EF's surely thats political since the electrician of the NIMT was based on very sound economic and environmental factors, thanks for sharing
