    Thank you so much for this, i needed this, i have been blaming myself healing trauma and wondering why am I resisting, i have been doing somatic yoga, lot of trauma has been coming out and I have been hard on not doing things, I destruct myself as well, i have been having my childhood memories, i have been putting so much pressure on myself on getting the emotions out, doing a lot of yoga with breathing exercises but just wondering when will I be okay, now I realized I have been putting stress to myself unaware so now I know what to do, saying it's okay, I have beileving everything that comes in my mind, I'm learning I have to be self compassionate and self patience and not want to have control

    Great content, great thumbnail. Great techniques. This actually works! Been trying these techniques now for 3 weeks and I already feel different. More energized during later parts of the day. And also more relaxed during the rest of the day. I almost feel too relaxed of being so used to my stressed state of ‘normal’ 😂

    Hi Benjamyn, I have scoliosis and I have spends more than lacs in treatment like medicine, chiropractic, ayurvedic treatment but not a any improvment. Could you please guide me to cure scoliosis.       Thanks for your question… in my experiences working with traumatic imprints, there can be a number of layers connected to each imprint. Underneath each trauma / overwhelming experience is the light we carry within us… we are learning how to see this and clear the negative distortions that have become overlayed upon us.     So if our body is completly frozen stiff in protection , then we embrace the protection because it kept us safe? And have compassion for all that went into that freeze being built. We gain power to be with it rather than fighting it and making it bad.

      Yes, this can be helpful. If we consider that the state of freeze is a result of experience(s) that we’re too overwhelming and the freeze is the coping mechanism to feel safe… for it to release, that past version had needs that weren’t met, seen, heard… through seeing this and offering what was needed, the experience leading to a separation of self, can be integrated back into the whole self. This is just general considerations based on working with hundreds of trauma cases. I hope it may be supportive 🙏

    I am working on my nervous system but I have a question that no one seems to have an answer for. My body trembles if I stretch, do body weight exercises, different postures etc. I am very strong and lots of endurance but simple things like reaching over to grab something and holding my body up in a certain position will cause me to tremble which then causes me to have lots of insecurities. What is my body trying to express or what is the nervous system telling me?

    Problem is the social environment that a forever collapsing economy creates in our mind/body system. The #1 unaliver; there's an epidemic of stress in the US. In Japan men become Hikikomori (shut-ins) because the work ethic is so insane that life is seen as nothing but infinite work with no enjoyment. Bosses, shareholders, and significant others want more output from you. All the skyscrapers you see in any major city were all created by stress hormones. It's the mindset that we have to adopt to keep our garbage economy going while personal, national, and global debt continue to rise without ever being able to pay off the principle. Telling people to stretch and relax is the best we can do. But the underlying stress won't ever leave our mind/body system until we address it in the social environment, first.

    Lots of good stuff here! Thanks for all you share-I have been helped a lot by your teachings, and I recommend Movement Monk to those I think are open to it. Some of the best movement-embodiment tips I have found. I have had the police come scope me out more than once as I moved freely in public-the culturally acceptable movement patterns here are narrow, and going beyond them is seen as a sign of something wrong.

    This conversations shines a new light on one key moment in my life, when I was 6 years old I got told by my soccer coach that I don't belong to the good kids and I'll have to wait out our Sunday game on the bench. Since that moment, up until this day this inner hurt child is trying to prove itself. I'll consider this conversation as a point of reflection for myself, the next time I go into my movement practice and my professional life, trying to 'get better' or finally achieve the things that 'I actually want'. I appreciate your work!

    Hi Benjamyn, I have become conscious of living with scoliosis symptoms for 6 years now. Sometimes it feels like my situation has improved a bit, but sometimes after that I come back to the realisation that my spine is still collapsing on itself. It just doesn’t feel healthy. I have been looking for more than 6 years all around the world for solutions and many things have helped a bit. And then I found you. The perfect match, and I finally felt understood.     How does your head lift up, isn't it fixed? Ie if someone is 5'9 he can't stretch his head further than his height. Is there any follow up from this video? Really curious about it from it from a martial art perspective.

      Body follows intent… by placing intent to lift the head, the spine follows and lengthens. Yes, this is helpful from a martial art perspective as to generate power through the kinetic chain of the fascia we need to be able to develop and release tension. Expanding and condensing from the extremities to the centre and vice versa is helpful for this. Hope that gives more insight.     @32:56 Bioenergetics therapist Alexander Lowen used "release of aggression" primarily through his exercises before anything. When people did not want to do such exercises with feelings of aggression he suggested them to be like actors acting the role for a movie and thus inspired them to do it with feelings.

    I think sitting and reading something aloud (even some internet blog stuffs) while using/seeing the resistance, tendency to distract etc as part of hard work of reading kind of helps to ground rather than be lost uncentered.
