Hello, I am Simon Li, I started out as a electronics engineer for a music studio and somehow worked on both sides of the recording desk... Now, I like to solve problems and have many interests in photography, flying RC aircraft, electronics and traveling the world... I hope to demonstrate many things which might inform and entertain...
OK to help people get on with their own problems of flying a drone setting up, filming or technical issues...
I like to offer my 15 year experience of being a technician to the members or subscribers of my channel...
I can work with you to solve most drone problems and most home storage difficulties...
In this crazy time in the world we can all share advise and solve the day to day problems of life and I believe I can add
fresh eyes to some technical difficulties...
so subscribe and drop me a message and lets see if we can get you flying again or get you powered up...

I bought a solar powered air conditioner heat pump ( hot and cold)
I brought a solar-powered air-conditioner Heat pump to see if its worth trying out...
The shed is a lot hotter in the summer days reaching to 30 degrees C and no means of cooling besides opening all the doors and blowing a fan to draw in some fresh air...
Earlier I tried a 100mm ventilation system, but it failed to make a dent in the inside temperature... So my solution is to buy an air conditioner / heat pump to solve the heat problem...
On AliExpress has some great solution... Probably buying the first type, I saw wasn't ideal in hindsight, but it was the cheapest. Alternatives are air-conditioners for trucks and cars or a hybrid system which allows DC and AC voltages for on and off grid operations...
The order started April 4th and was completed or shipped to my doorstep by July 1 so it took a while, and eventually I had to find an air condition engineer to install and charge the lines with R134a gas...
Additional cost was the £46 duty and the installation, which was £400 which includes the outside unit "feet" the copper tubing which as brazed to connect both indoor and outdoor units... and conduit for pipe work and 48v wiring... with also a condensation pipe outlet...
Testing it briefly, The machine runs pretty well, I measured about 600w normal operation usage at 19 degrees C air cooling in warm British weather in July...
While testing the heat, I was seeing it was drawing about, 1300w... at 22 degrees C on a slightly overcast day in July in the UK
These values might differ to the manual, so I can only assume that the 3500w usage must be the maximum values for heating and cooling...
The clamp meter measured about 12 amps draw for cooling and 25 amp draw for heating... I can only report on the typical use case scenario of my test of that day...
Hopefully I'll try to test on different days at different time of the year, so watch this space...
Please like and subscribe and thanks for watching...

nice video, noticed the USB is 3.0 , maybe a 3.0 usb device will get lower latency, about 50ms, while 2.0 device is 100-150ms(From Taobao or Aliexpress)
@@user-li1pb3kl4u I would assume all wire data travels within the laws of physics and that the video data speeds isn’t limited by the usb mode protocols… Then again clock speeds and the handshake routine may have changed… I really just don’t know to have a opinion on it 🤷♂️

@@LePubPattaya sadly no, it only seems to output video to the tv… compared with the yolobox mini which outputs video and audio to the livestream… The osbot device will probably be best serves as a webcam converter to a secondary device rather then any camera that offers audio…

thank you for this! have you also done some outdoor tests too, by any chance? just to see how that muffled sound is outside
Sorry I don’t think it would be worth recording muffled videos outside… as it ruins the video quality… instead I just tested the general waterproof functionality and use case in rainy weather conditions…
@slifox2752 i understand, thank you so much, guess we will be waiting for an official solution

Can't get this to work - tracking just keeps hunting for the target, swinging form side to side! The lights are solid. The manual (page5) states lights will be solid for 5.8GHz - you seem to suggest it flashes when on 5.8Ghz. Either way, I can tap slow or fast 3 times and it never seems to change!! Maybe cus it's old, but the ZY PLAY app does not show the transmitter, so I can''t check for Firmware updates - any help appreciated (video 4 years old, and you have not posted in a while, so hope you are still reading the comments)
Yeah you probably need to update fw on the module… via phone app since it doesn’t do anything unless you update from its original FW as the original version didn’t allow you to change frequencies… But any how this video and gimbal system is many years old… I doubt if it may work again as most of the support for the weebill S might have disappeared in favour for the newer products…
@@slifox2752 The Weebill S is working fine, I just never used the transmitter! The tracking even starts of fine but you can tell that, due to the latency, it starts to drift off and then spirals out of control 😞 As the old transmitter is not in the ZY Playlist (would have been nice of them to keep a list call "unsupported products") it can't be updated - unless you know some other way. I'm looking at the new ones, and really, what has changed in the gimble world? Many thanks for the quick reply - hope you are well.
I cant get the yolobox to recognize DJI Pocket three.
Either change cable or try another webcam to see if it’s the yolobox, the webcam or the pocket 3 or cable that’s at fault 🤷♂️
I can't get the YoloBox it to recognize the DJI Pocket. Is there a cord issue or driver issue I am missing? It is super in and out or nothing at all.
Try changing the lead if it doesn’t work then try it on a pc with software… I use OBS livestream to see the video results… Normally it should work but issues such as low power, or quality of video effects the signal processing on the yolobox… Have you added additional 3rd party software… because that effects the video Try a different webcam to determine if it’s the pocket 3 or the yolobox… Lastly try resetting one or both devices to factory settings to see if it’s working properly… if not you probably have to contact the manufacturer
I feel like having to use the Yolobox hurts the the advantage of the osmo pocker 3 vs a regular phone. The advantage of the osmo is that its a small, stick looking thing that's inconspicuous. With the yolobox taped onto it, its now a big, cumbersome video looking object. I feel like at that point might as well use a phone with gimbal.
The advantage is the almost unbreakable 3G connection, the replay action button, the other functions and features of yolobox… but it’s not as cumbersome as holding a old style gimbal and camera rig weighting over 4kg Live streaming this way is much better professionally than just a phone camera…
@@slifox2752 Thank you for reply. I need to do more research on the Yolobox. With just phone hotspot, is it possible to get clean 720p quality? or should I stick to 480p.
You can get a clean 480p, 720p or 1080p on the phone and osmo pocket 3 combination… it’s only limited by the WiFi connection and exterior radio interference it gets from 2.4ghz and the 5.8 GHz I’d say in urban areas or places with buildings… you will get glitches because the nature of scattered radio waves on walls and things… That’s why I recommend the Osmo pocket as a webcam to a yolobox or portable livestream system with LTE modem or wired connection to the internet…
you have to pay for restream IO you failed to mention that
I use the basic package… its free, it’s good enough… and I’m not being paid… take it or leave it… 🤷♂️
@@slifox2752 ok i managed to obtain the rtmp url as per your video but now the app says livestream failed...
Yeah check the stream data it can fail if competing WiFi signals over the air clashes with your connection… an app to check 3G data flow can see if there’s a problem… Otherwise I’d stay mostly away from cities and urban areas where lots of WiFi networks around… I think I did a video to tell people that I don’t recommend WiFi livestreams between pocket3 gimbal and your smartphone because of the airwaves always seem to disconnect the livestream… czcams.com/video/5JroLBpv92c/video.htmlsi=c_ajZEU-qDM1sCgD

I try not to think about that, meanwhile I have willing friends who let me film them…🤷♂️
I want to live stream on Twitch while fishing. I will use my mobile phone's internet. Do you recommend it or should I get a different device?
Yes I can recommend it… especially if you are livestream away from urban or crowded areas… The limiting factor is the phone’s battery… if you can top up with a battery bank it should be ok… if you are using the osmo pocket 3 you’ll also need the device to be topped up… You can get away with a hours live streaming but any longer then you’ll need a battery bank preferably with PD charging or power delivery charging as it will quickly top up your charging…
@@slifox2752 Have you tried live streaming on Twitch? Does it work? I know that broadcasting is done on Facebook and CZcams without any problems. What I'm wondering is, does it really work well on Twitch?

@@slifox2752 I figured it was. lol. Your video took me down a rabbit hole. I wonder if I can replicate this with a hotspot and the Camo App for IPad. I think it’s doable.
DJI have proprietary software and hardware… you probably have an easier time to screen copy and livestream the apple device then DJI… Maybe do a search for “screen capture to livestream” for your tablet device… Or on the DJI side you can try the RTMP option to livestream… this requires a RTMP Address to livestream to a social media platform… I recommend a livestream website to do this… See video tutorial on how to obtain a rtmp address and stream key… This method automatically starts and runs the live stream at a steady rate over two simultaneous platforms… so you don’t have to faff about with the social media dashboard… czcams.com/video/HsuCVmhT8SY/video.htmlsi=stK10_BcbPxws7Gh

I did see one guy, that day generally speaking it very rare… they usually hang around the reservoir… 🤷♂️
Is it possible to set the screen horizontally? When I looked at the waterproof product, all the screen was only available in vertical mode.
Sadly no the enclosure is a fixed tubular design and can not accommodate the screen turning wider… considering it’s limited to button controls only… I guess you’ll have to set your modes and camera tracking before closing the lid… 🤷♂️ or use he Mimo app to set camera settings

Yes usually the elderly or in my case someone with a horrible summer cold has a mask
To fix yout audio, you need to set your modem or hotspot to 5ghz wifi band. 2.4ghz causes the interference.
Thanks… but a recent osmo pocket firmware fixed the audio issues 👍
@@slifox2752 It fixed mine for a short time until I did another update then it had problems again. After contacting dji, they sugessted the 5ghz fix
Been looking for something like this and maybe found the exact one on Amazon. I can see the use for underwater shots but for me I'd just want something simply to use if it was raining. For me I'd like to access the touchscreen and more joystick movement as if filming in normal conditions so unless there's a different case with that or heck maybe a mini umbrella attachment would be all I need
There’s a different case where you can open up in the middle… which can access the screen… but I guess it’s vulnerable to wet hands or damp environments… The alternative is to use a smart phone and Mimo app to control via Bluetooth… I used the case in a livestream and it’s great for waterproofing.., it got awkward in terms of walking around with this and an umbrella… Also couldn’t zoom in or use the joystick for directions… but had it in follow mode to help steer the camera… occasionally can face track… Some of the footage is ruined by water droplets resting on the dome… so a rag is needed… My livestream was a good test… but on the whole proves that you shouldn’t expect too much from the case except decent waterproofing… Rain test mostly at the end… czcams.com/users/liveJfOJsp_aE44?feature=share
Can you still use the mic with it?
When totally submerged in sea water even a couple of inches… the audio cuts out because Bluetooth signals can’t penetrate through water… see following video for evidence czcams.com/video/0je01fV2TY4/video.html

I just ordered a pocket 3 and am looking for a waterproof caae. Thanks for doing this sir, really appreciate it. Its the best option we have out there unfortunately but I'm concerned on the quality of video. I will be mounting mine on a kayak but worried wirh salt water spraying on the case it will interfere with the clarity of footage. I might have to cancel my order and re assess my camera options. Again, thanks very much!
Thank you for this! New subscriber here! Are you using a hot spot for this livestream? If so, what one?
I was using a sim card on the yolobox mini… and it was a hotspot for my phone to connect to the internet…. So I can see if it was livestreaming… ( took the SIM card out of phone to put into the yolobox) I recommend this method as it was a solid connection to the internet… because WiFi would be unreliable in a heavy saturated rf environment…
@@slifox2752 Great details! Thank you very much!
Did you have your cell phone tucked in your mask? Why?
It’s a secret hidden livestream with narration… I was whispering the commentary 🤷♂️ because I was close to other people and didn’t want to look like a obvious vlogger
It doesn't seem like the go-to for top-notch underwater shots, but it might just be what I need! I'll be in Thailand during Songkran - think huge water festival/water fight, country-wide. Wanted to catch it all on my Pocket 3, but with water flying left and right, I had to find a way to keep it dry and safe. Fingers crossed this does the trick!
Yes you should be fine up to 40m but the camera only lasts as long as the onboard battery holds out… So best buy a PD battery bank to fast charge at 9v 3 amps and a usb C to usb C lead for the Power Delivery protocols… Probably a floating handle would be advisable too…
same! I'll be in songkran too, with osmo pocket 3. Thinking of ways of capturing the waterfight and festival.
I recently noticed that when panning I can getting a slight stutter in the footage. Could this be because it was set to low deadpan? I believe my shutter was 120, and my frame rate was 60
That sounds about right frame rate is half the shutter value… but gimbal speed is should be set lower so it doesn’t look jerky… The acceleration and the de-acceleration of the pan turn should look smooth on film… and you should set your speed and smoothness values accordingly to how you move your pan… Deadband is variable to your work space… example low deadband for indoor film area or high deadband for outdoor space…
@@slifox2752 thank you sir! Interestingly, I have not had much of a problem until just recently with stutter. I realized it may be because I just installed the the dual handle mounts on the side for vertical stabilization. I believe panning with that is what is causing all my stutter . Have you ran into this before??
Promo sm 😠
Do you notice any stuttering in the output when streaming in UVC mode with the camera?
No, it’s a digital connection… but the disadvantage of usb connection is the vibration or lack of securing the connection… that’s why I brought a cage and use the onboard security lock to keep the connection placed in… Buy low profile right handed USB connectors or HDMI cable to allow the cage to clamp on and secure the cables against most things including vibrations…
@@slifox2752 I stream using Orange Pi 5+ with Belabox on it and when using DJI OP3, there are noticeable jitters or stutters in the stream. It's annoying to the point I won't use the camera to livestream, which is too bad as it's a great camera.
@@WheelsonaBike I can only assume your DIY solution is vulnerable to travel vibrations and the usb connection might not be secure… And maybe video error correction within the buffer is not as good… or your low latency from the encoder also means it doesn’t error correct and smooth out the video feed… I don’t know… All I know is my livestream feed from my yolobox mini output seems pretty good from the osmo pocket 3… it has small delay… and the restream livestream service says the stream was a heathy connection… 🤷♂️ My Bitrate was low at 10Mb for a 720p but otherwise, not experienced any jitters…
@@slifox2752 Thanks for identifying some of the factors thst can influence the jitters. I do have latency set to low on CZcams, I'll switch it to Normal and see if it makes a difference. I appreciate the suggestions!
Can u see comments in the app while streaming? I have the same idea for streaming
Sort of, if you use the onboard Facebook and CZcams connections on the yolobox you can tap in and out the message… on screen However I used restream ( a third party livestreaming service) Which allows me to generate a web chat message to form automatically on screen… You just use the embedded chat or URL on the customised titles within the yolobox settings…
Thanks for the review, it is fair to say it is useless and doesn't work.
The waterproof case for the osmo pocket3 isn’t useless… I’d use it over rough weather days and beach side vlogs… someone mentioned, it could be modified to use as a IRL live stream point of view camera And allow very long live stream sessions, walking around in the world… The case would provide protection against knocks and rough treatment as well as water damage…
Nice camera rig! I’m thinking of using the yolobox mini a OBSOT tiny 2. I hope to buy the yolobox mini soon
Cool, I was thinking about getting the tiny 2 camera… for studio work
interesting test tho - well done. maybe you should have done that test in a bath tub tho because murky water is always going to cause focusing issues.
Thanks… I assume the focus would act similar to darkness but exponentially worse at distance beyond arms length… Hopefully it was slightly proven via the selfie tracking working ok… But because there’s no aperture control it will probably be worse under the low light and low clarity conditions… Anyway I don’t see this as a serious unwater camera… more of a holiday by the beach if possible… 👍
Can you use the joystick to move the gimbal while in case?
Sadly no, it’s only press to achieve forward and selfie modes…
What ??? no underwater image samples ???....ehhhooooo...
