I quit housekeeping at a hotel. It was so exhausting and my entire body was always hurting. After 2 years of doing it I switched to house person. I love it.

If you have a lot of rooms spray the bathroom down only go after the soap areas and just wipe the chrome down the bottom of the tub and ledge and outside of the tub wiping it all down wastes time but certain companies want you to do that. Whatever you see the guests will see is the way I had been told. Change the sheets if needed. Turn all the lights on to see what's working what things need to be plugged in. Don't waste time deep cleaning unless slow. I've seen some deep clean for almost an hour when there's no time for that. 😆 if there's dishes in the suite do that when you get in the room since takes a while to wash then by the time you're done with the room those should be done by then, then put them away. Wipe down the shelves surfaces take the trash refill the supplies and move quick to get the Hell out of there. 😆 Guests staying; you should only be in the room a little over six minutes if you make the bed take the trash put in supplies wipe whatever needs to be wiped down. Don't waste too much time conversing with guests unless pertaining to work or you'll be there for 45 minutes to an hour of them talking your ear off. 😆 It's like get laid on your own time, buddy. 😆 I noticed the smaller chains, they leave more tips if it's a place people don't stay long term depending on the guest. I worked at a few like that and was lucky to get $10 a week. 😆 Always always tip people in hospitality well bcuz places usually don't always pay well. They said to tip housekeepers a dollar a day but I give well if I get good service.

You use one gloves for clean bath" toilet bowl " hand wash bowl also clean furnitures with same gloves when you put cup in to the dishwasher , I can not give you credit " hygiene is very important also I could not trust coming to that hotel.

I love housekeeping...I love cleaning in general, I clean my residence every single day I go home no matter how tired I am...Housekeeping training videos are very inefficient though, charted guidelines and hands-on is recommended to anyone looking to tackle housekeeping professionally.

I don't really like the fact you were using same cloth to wash a toilet bowl and a washing basin... also, instead of starting the clean from the top, like a cover of the toilet bowl towards the opening of the toilet bowl , you went the other way round basically spreading all germs from the dirtiest part of it outside and then all over the washing basin.

Respects and thank you for the detailed explanation 🙏🏼 I'm going to have an interview for a seasonal Hosekeeping job abroad (U.S.) tomorrow. It might be a very physical job, which is the hardest part, but I will earn 4 to 10 times as much as I have earned in my country (Mexico), and even before considering tips. I'm a bilingual (Spanish-English) Science teacher (college graduated in Biotechnology) so you can imagine how lucky people is of living in a country with a good economy. If I get the job I will do my best to be able to get some other seasonal jobs abroad and will use my free time to make some Science videos. I can't leave Science but those jobs will help my economy much more and will do my best whenever I can get the opportunity to work on them. My whole respects to all housekeeping workers.

Finally! An actual helpful training video. Most videos just have a tiny bit of explanation. Then all the cleaning happens off camera, the next thing you see is a clean bed and bathroom without seeing the actual cleaning or bed making.

I am working in a cleaning company here in UAE.. I think 🤔 the way she clean the toilet bowl is not proper.. It needs to wash with soap & sponge here in abu dhabi we use Jeff cream for scrubbing bathtubs & toilet bowl & jink.. Just saying..
