For the last three years I have been concentrating on the boating channel and because it really took off big time, over 3.8 million viewers, I kind of left Fareham Life, to a life on the shelf. I owned one of these Riley’s when I worked in the UK. It was a green RMF, a reliable and comfortable ride. I sold it to a man in Ramsey, Hants, not too far from Farnham. I wonder if he kept it? BTW, I sold it for just 400 Pounds sterling!
My good man, what are you doing avoiding road going dweebs? I used to drive my Rover P6 every day, 32 miles through central London, if other people had a problem, didn't like the speed I was doing, or choked on the rat poison coming out of the tale pipe, they could overtake, move aside or simply sod off! For every irritated dweeb there are at least twenty elderly people and teenage girls who appreciate a nice classic. You really need to adopt a more "I don't care" attitude, and enjoy your car. I personally have had people behind me as I was doing 20Mph, flashing and beeping, given them the signal to overtake, had them fly off at whatever speed, only to see them get flashed by a camera. One imbecile thought I was taking too long on a roundabout, so he took off and went anticlockwise, this was followed by a loud crashing noise, what happened? I don't know, because it's not my concern, I had places to be. Funniest one was a motorcycle delivery driver who came to my window to complain that what was coming out of the back of my car had made him cry. Bloke looked like he had been sniffing onions. I explained that it was on choke and it would be running rich until I was satisfied the engine was suitably warm. He didn't understand. Do as you please within the law, there is nothing in the highway code that says you have to accelerate at a certain rate, only that you must be able to stop within a set distance. It's a lovely car, and you only have so much time on this planet to enjoy it, so ENJOY IT! :)

I am pretty certain that I saw this property on an estate agents website recently. Liked the look of it then and wished I had the money to buy it then after seeing this now, wish even more that I had the money to buy it. Just hope that whoever buys it does not change the building at all inside. Love this building it is so interesting.

I grew up next door at number 52 ,my parents Bill and Jean bought it in 1969 and I was born in 1970 . When we lived there 53 was owned by Muriel Wyatt and her friend/partner Beryl .We moved in 1983 and Beryl died and after a while Muriel sold and moved to Abbeyfield on East street -some time in the 1980's . I often visited and was very fond of both ladies and have such lovely memories of the house, Muriel's bedroom overlooked our garden . I love what you've done to the house and glad you have created such a lovely home . Ive been into lots of homes on the High Street and they are all so different with such character .

What an enjoyable and well produced short video by Bob Aylott. Facinating and insightful commentary by Dominic, the shop manager. The Fareham Wine Cellar strikes me as the wine equivalent of The Whisky Exchange. If you want something a bit upmarket and unusual or for a special event, then this seems one of THE places to go to.

That coffer is beautiful and is as old as the house 👀😱 that's incredible, I'd love to know more and if it's always been with the house and more about the priest hole, is it still accessible or has it long been blocked off... also why does this house have a priest hole was it somehow related to the church as it seems strange as it wasn't the closest of houses or did many houses have them?
I knew of Henry back say 7 years ago, I lived in meon house 9 high Street.. he would lend us a hose and connect it up so we could fill a pool in the communal garden bless and he had his son's bike a retro bmx from the 80's and donated it to our son and just like his house it was in perfect condition and we still treasure it till this day!!.... I walked past today hense I see the 'find us on CZcams' .. the history not only around your house but the general area is rife and so exciting, I have enjoyed chats with you and your wife in the past and I'm so sorry for your loss. Good health to you Henry Palk, you are truly a wonderful gentleman and I'm so privileged to have grown up in fareham virtually all my life 44 years and met wonderful people like yourselves. You live in a truly magnificent spectacle of history and it's a joy to see how your have taken the best of care and shared this with us.. take care Henry 😍😃
