Kubota b7100 tractor wooden boom pole for $20
I built a prototype wooden 3 point hitch boom pole, mostly for fun and to learn the right layout for a 3 point connection. It came out so sturdy looking I have been testing what it can lift. Look for future videos of what it can lift.
Material list from my favorite Lowe's:
3 2x4's cut
2 pieces to 24.5" long for horizontal lift arms bars
2 pieces to 3' long for vertical portion of boom
1 piece 5' long for horizontal boom
2 pieces for 48" long for long angle supports
1 short piece 8" -12" for short angle support
1 piece of all-thread 1/2" from electrical section (much cheaper)
Bunch of washers and nuts
7/8" oak dowel rod for lift arms
2 landscape nails to place through ends of lift arm dowels for extra support and to provide a place for the clips.
Sorry, for some of the shaking. We'll try and improve for future videos. If you build one send me a link, I'd like to see what others have done.

For its age, your tractor is in lovely condition. Good find!

At first opportunity, buy some used suitcase weights to help offset the weight on the rear of the tractor. On my newly purchased tractor of comparable size, everything went well with the 3 pt hitch mower until I broke a belt and raised the unit for a run to the shop. With the heavy unit no longer supported by castors, the Bolens did an unexpected ground loop on a steep slope when the wheels lifted off. I was lucky not to overturn. Before I drove it again, I retraced the two-hour route to the vendor and bought the three suitcase weights he had offered with the tractor but I had declined.

What an amazing idea. I am going to try this and use 2x6's. Is there a reason you just used a double 2x4 on the bottom between the bottom lift arms as opposed to a single 4x4? I'm not expecting to pull a car engine but for some light duty stuff this would fill my need. I realize this is an older thread but thank you for sharing your amazing idea. I would have loved seeing you make this in a video.

Just the material I had laying around, this wood setup has really held up even lifting 400-500lbs carefully.

@@morganmachunze3113 I have stuff laying around here to build it including a 6ft piece of threaded rod. Lol. I just need the nuts so it's off to Lowes. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.

I had a B7100..be sure to clean the rad fins regularly..they are prone to crack heads if overheated.

Cool lightweight lift build! I hope to see some of those implements at work. I have same tractor although mine is rough compared to yours.

How are those plastic body solenoid valves holding? Are they from washing machine? Here is a simple solution to make similar project - sonoff switch

Pretty cool. Did you ever consider a simple red and blue LED to highlight which water was flowing..?

Would vibrating the mold (possibly even at supersonic frequencies) help get rid of air-pockets?

I have a 10 inch permanent mold made of aluminum. It is a ships bell mold and I use a pattern that fits into the mold and I use sand core. I pour the aluminum in the set mold and it does not spew and I can knock a new aluminum bell right out of the mold. I have used it many times and it always works. I have a foundry made of fire brick and use wood and a blower and melt the metal in an iron pot.

How did you made the permanent mold and sprue? what material did you made these two out of? i am trying to find a cheap and good way to make a permanent mold about the same size as yours.

the mold and sprue are made from low carbon steel and it seemed to work fine.
