Hi RePicture, thank you so much for creating a content like this, I was digging further into my passion as someone who had a bachelor's thesis in Transportation Engineering and wanted to pursue in Master's in Engineering. Thank you for giving me a lot of ideas to inspire me to further ellaborate my motivation in this field.
Thanks for providing this interview. Its great to listen to someone with extensive experience in the profession. I am about to graduate from a MS in civil (water resources focus) and will begin my career as water resources engineer in January.... i am feeling excited and overwhelmed
Thanks Christina for the feedback and good luck with your new job! If you want to hear from another Water Resources engineer, you can go to www.repicture.com/userprofile/carolyn-voter
Ms. Jameelah was so warm sharing her piece. I am very proud of your accomplishments!!!!
Thanks. We agree that Jameelah is great!
this was so helpful! Thank you very much for the guidance!
Thanks for the feedback!
Nice Interview!
Great information, I'm pursuing my bachelor's degree in supply chain,Transportation, and Logistics management. Can I become a Transportation engineering, or would have to pursue a master's degree in civil engineering. Thanks in advance 👍
The transportation aspect of your discipline is management, not engineering. Transportation Engineering is an aspect of Civil Engineering that deals with transportation infrastructure planning, design, operations and maintenance.
Glad to have found this, thanks for teaching me about the field!
Thanks for the feedback! If you are interested in transportation engineering, you may want to also watch this video about different transportation engineering careers.
thanks for the video. i am done now with water resource engineering now..stack waht to do now..
Which softwares should I acquaint my self with to be a transportation engineer? I didn’t get that well.what about Civil 3D
Page 4 of the following shows the software that employers want entry level transportation engineers to know www.repicture.com/jobs/civil-engineer-transportation-entry-level
Thank you for the video! It helped me a lot
We're glad it was helpful!
l have a question 1.Water Supply and Sanitation Engineering 2.Water Resources Engineering 3.Water/Wastewater Engineering 4.Hydraulic Engineering 5.Environmental Engineering What actually is the difference between these majors and to be more specific *water supply and sanitation engineering*,in which major does it actually fall in?
All of the five areas you've listed are specialties within Civil Engineering. However, sometimes Environmental Engineering is a separate program and sometimes it's combined with Civil Engineering. Environmental Engineering typically involves more chemistry and biology than Civil Engineering.
Hi sir
Thank you for making video
Thanks Narongrit for your feedback!
👏👏👏👏👏
0:30 just like me.. I also started college with structural engineering focus but now my focus towards transportation ;)
That's a fun part of civil engineering. You can a lot of different things with it (e.g., structural engineering or transportation engineering)
Thank you for this video
Thanks Cathy. I'm glad you found it helpful.
Thank you, it's really helpful 🙏🏻
Thanks Anisah!
Do you have any Job for me ?
what software you use in cost estimating?
are the salaries similar with structural engineers or its less?
The best way to know the average salaries for civil engineers is to get the ASCE Salary Report.
Im in traffic management design in the UK and I love it and your guest speaker is correct you need a software background eg cad I did architecture we use various ref books in terms of traffic modelling swept path is good software but you need a site survey and knowing the regulations will definitely help
Thanks for the comment. In most engineering jobs, you'll need some type of software background.
Great video. Thanks
What state is the best for transportation engineering?
Texas and California
Is getting a transportation engineer job hard?
Nope, you definitely don't need to be a calculus wiz or be a mental math maestro.
This is very helpful and useful for engineers Thank you so much #civilengineerfromMYANMAR

Good job. If I get into one of the 11 graduate schools I applied to for fall 2020 transportation msc, maybe I will be on the webinar someday
Good luck on your graduate school applications. We'd love to have you on our webinar series.
That was the best video ever 🌷 I am definitely will be looking for an International work visa , but I was wondering if you may advise me about something that I am depressed with and you may help with your experience in Civil engineering ; As I have mentioned I am fresh graduated civil engineer , and I am currently looking for a job in Egypt my home country where I live now , And I am ambitious to continue my path as an academic purpose , to be an university teacher , so for now there is a lot of spare time in my life , cause there is not a lot of job opportunities in my country for fresh civil engineers , experience plays a huge role in hiring engineers , especially civil department , so I am preparing my self to pursuit my master degree abroad and at the same time to be enrolled as an intern at any Engineering company or hopefully a job as an fresh civil engineer . so I have 9 month for now to prepare myself by studying a lot of things and to get there Certificates like ; 1- IELTS exam 2- FE exam 3- Civil3D professional exam , and maybe Learning German if Europe will be my destination. And I am also took some good courses already and certifications when i was at college recently was BIM for infrastructure projects , I will attach my CV to be able to see my qualifications so far So am I at the right path or there is something that seems wrong or hard to accomplish I am looking forward to here from you Regards Abdulrahman
That was a very helpful video for me ☺ Thanks alot If you may , I was just wo wondering if a fresh graduated civil engineer let's say Egypt for instance Want to have an internship program or job abroad , Is there a certian criteria to be obtainied to be able to travel ? And as well Preparing a master degree at the same time

Here is a link to the visa programs for interns US j1visa.state.gov/programs/intern/ however, I don't think I've ever worked with a foreign engineering student who was working under this program.
Hi Ashraf. I apologize for the delayed response. I was not aware you had posted this. I believe that if you were on a student visa pursuing a structural engineering university degree in the US, you could legally apply to work in an internship, and for a specific period of time (~1 year) upon graduation. After that, if you wanted to continue in a full-time position, you would need to ask your employer to sponsor or petition for your application for a non-immigrant visa, such as the H-1B visa or L-1B. Alternatively, you could apply for permanent residency (also known as the US Green Card). Note that structural engineering qualifies as specialty occupation for H-1B Visas. For the US, you can get more information on workpermit.com/immigration/usa/us-h-1b-visa-specialty-workers
Wow I’m a Coastal engineering senior student from Jamaica perusing his bachelors in China. I must say you are an inspiration and keep up the good work
