Rocking Rory

I was in Ballyshannon in September of 2023, I am a Rory Rocker, but never realized that I would stumble upon his birthplace while wandering around the Wild Atlantic Coast. There's an art shop near the statue and I had tea with one of co-op owners who shared all kinds of Rory stories. This and swimming off Black Rock in Galway were the highlights of a great trip to Ireland. I have to go back some year in June for RoryFest. We were born three months apart and I've always felt a kinship with his music.

As a guitar playing singer songwriter for over 40 years I still can’t come close to Rory’s genius! I saw him 3 times, the most memorable being at a Brooklyn Rock Club called LaMore! As best as I recall he came on at 1:00 am and was still rocking at 5:00 am. Unfortunately I had to leave to go to work! He may be a million miles or more away rocking behind the pearly gates but, he will always hold a special place in my heart! Have to get to this festival next year!!!! Peace All and keep rocking!

We were there; 5 brothers, my son and a bro-in-law from the USA. Amazing festival, stages and performers, and more amazing crowd. Ya'll gave us a good time!

What camera ? It reminds me of my DSCR1. I have Rory in concert from the 70s in concert in HQ I will put on soon. I went to a working mens club (remember them?) , (not woking persons club), in 1979 in Wythenshaw Manchester I think, the music was great but I never had one look at the band as I was at the back of a packed crowd drinking the beer.

Went over to this on my bike, along with my then GF who had flown in from Texas to be there. Fun fact some might not know, Rory was born in the Rock hospital there ...... guessing he was delivered by Dr Rock, and that's where the spell was cast!

Rory is the goat all the goats talk about him he didn't get huge he didn't sale his soul to a corporation he do done what he liked
