A few consistent laps in the 1:25's around Grattan. I use the 2nd lap as a cool down due to traffic in turn 1. Stock power LS7 with 200TW Tires.

A few decent pace laps around Grattan. Far off from my PB of 1:26.1, but it was too hot for optimal track conditions. Running BFG Rival 1.5S 200TW tires.

By this point my tires were worn and I was running mismatched compounds front and rear (200TW front and 300TW rear) just to turn some more laps. Not the fastest laps, but still fun chasing a race car.

How did the car feel braking before the 500 mark? Do you think you could have went in deeper? Are the calipers stock?
I think I can gain a lot of time in that braking zone and it's purely a mental barrier I need to overcome. I have AP racing calipers in the front so I know the car will stop but I tend to get tunnel vision the closer I get to 150mph. Not much room for error so I'm playing it safe.
The wide camera lens makes it a lot more obvious 😅
@@Zach_Horvath Man, I totally feel you because I’m in the same scenario. Trying to mentally overcome the braking is definitely a challenge …. I got a C6Z I’m prepping & will be running it at time trails in Michigan ( really only gingerman ) & hopefully mid so I try to watch everyone’s videos hopefully learn a bit
@@ES-REDROT Nice! Maybe we will see each other at some events. The Z06 is a huge step up from the WRX I tracked before so there was a steep learning curve. I've had the car for 3 years now and have made huge improvements in my driving ability each season. Even now I have so much room for improvement. More seat time will always be key.
@@Zach_Horvath Yeah, I come from M3’s so C6 Z06 is definitely a totally different ball game We should! I’ll be signing up for Gingerman Gridlife time trails & I’ll probably do a couple HPDE’s before that for practice can’t miss me I’ll have a red C6Z too lol Good stuff man keep it up it’s good to progress in stuff like this it’s really rewarding. Enjoyable process ..
LS7 Baby 💪
Nice lap, I just set my fastest lap there a couple weeks ago in my 93 Camaro, 1:24.833, I'm gonna be there in a couple weeks, last weekend of September with 3 Balls Racing, trying to better that, finally getting it dialed in.
That's really moving!
Impressive time. Are you on stock suspension?
Only DRM Bilstein non adjustable dampers and delrin bushings.
@@Zach_Horvath great time especially for being on some shocks. Are you planning coils at all?
@@ES-REDROT Not anytime soon
Same celebration from when I got my first point by 😆 Killer lap!
How much power
Stock power. So assuming GM's marketing is correct, 505hp at the crank.
@@Zach_Horvath cool. Good drive
Great driving! What have you done for reliability to the Z06 with respect to engine (heads, valves fix, etc.) and cooling? I have an 08 with the smaller dry sump tank, and fixed heads/valves/guides, but was planning on expanding the tank to the 09+ 11qt size and adding baffles to the oil pan. I don't compete, this is just for peace of mind for HPDEs.
I've only done the head fix. I have an 06 so I'll likely expand the dry sump this winter. I'm considering the baffled oil pan, but have also heard it's a pain to take everything apart. Prior to this I had mainly focused on getting the suspension set up better.
You got a lot of time you can squeeze out of this baby on this track
Definitely! Just need some more time at Gingerman to figure out the best lines.
@@Zach_Horvath crazy how easy these cars run sub 1:40.
What suspension setup do you have?
@@chefboyardee54 DRM Bilstein dampers, Strano performance adjustable sway bars (front and rear) and Borg Motorsports Delrin control arm bushings.
Nice driving, Zach!
Hell yeah!
Awesome laps man. I also noticed you got Comp Gray wheels on the Z06 … are you looking to sell them anytime soon ? I’m also located local to you let me know !
Thanks! I'm not looking to sell the wheels. I keep my street tires on those and have two sets of Apex wheels for track use.
@@Zach_Horvath If you want a set of the Chrome Z06 Speed lines in place of the Gray wheels for a trade let me know I’d be open to that too !
@@ES-REDROT Thanks for the offer, but I'm happy with my current setup and not looking to change it up.
