Hi thank you so much for this video! I'm having the same issues in the same camper except it's my dining/kitchen area. Can you give me an idea of what I am looking at cost wise? If I do it myself. Also major tools I will need? I would appreciate it tremendously!
@shawnasage8499 oh boy, it's been a long time since I bought that stuff. I would estimate around $200-$250 for supplies depending on the size of the area. That would be 1/2" plywood, some 2x4's paint, the underpinning material some hardware and a little insulation. As for tools, you'll need a circular saw for sure and a drill/screw driver of some sort. I'm sure I used my sawzall and my tablesaw also. It's hard to answer it all in a comment, but that should be a good start. Hope that helps!
I have a 1970 Nova for sale right now if anyone is interested??

I've heard of doing that, just never got around to trying it, I should do that. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the detailed video. What was the purpose of painting the 2x’s?
Hope it helped! Since I didn't want to use treated lumber, I painted them to help protect them from moisture if it gets in there. Thanks for watching!
I hope you don't mind, but I gave your channel a shout out on my Ye Ol' Garage episode this morning.
I don't mind at all, as a matter of fact I'm honored. Thanks!
Had a Oldsmobile Starfire, the bushings wore out and replaced with bass bushings, solved the problem.
Oh, cool car. Its amazing how much some bushings can improve the feel of a door! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Just about to do this same thing on my 73 hatchback. I got a kit that has four bushings each side, fortunately. A bit worried to see how wallowed out my door bushings are, though!
Good luck with it! As long as the bushings are still there and it didn't wear in to the hinges you should be fine. Thanks for watching!
Plz help. My floor is low. Not soft. My rv was moved...full.. and for some reason floor shifted. I thought.. brace with 2x4 under between frame and leveler inside before adding new floor
@sandyginn860 it's hard to know without seeing it, I would want to find out why it shifted. Is the floor rotten around the frame, but the center is fine? Bracing is fine, but there is obviously something wrong with the structure of the floor that caused it to sink. If the floor was good before being moved, it is compromised now because of the weight or something. Sorry that happened, wish I could help more!
@@assemblyrequired1 thanx. Not rotted. It just shifted with a fully loaded rv....but that did help. I'm getting under it today to look. Thank u sooo much

Yes, very! Every ounce of food the dogs have eaten have been out of that feeder with no modifications! And they are much bigger now! Thanks for the comment
I appreciate your time you sharing this brother. Very useful for me . God bless your family ! And what’s the heaviest load you towed with your truck ? And how many miles on yours ? Any issues ? Mine is 06 LBZ single rear wheel , diesel 225k no issues
@silasferreira9647 you bet! I'm glad you enjoyed it. My truck it a 2007 2500 HD Classic with 6.0L gas and 5 speed. it has about 160,000 miles on it and I've not really had any issues with it. I've replaced a couple normal parts, transfer case seal, u-joints etc. It does need an AC compressor clutch now. The most I've hauled with it is probably around 10,000 lbs including the trailer.
@@assemblyrequired1 thanks bro my diesel one drinks a lot 13.8 mpg on freeway and 11 mpg on city what about yours ?
Thanks for the video…I just picked up a used hitch for my 2007 classic from fb marketplace for $100 bucks! Going to do the same as you and clean it up and paint it and also pick up some new hardware…I haven’t had any luck finding the right size U bolts online so I think I was use your method with some flat bar and bolts!
Glad the video helped! My set up has worked well and I've hauled quite a bit with it. Good luck with your project, you'll be glad to did it!!
They all do
Not all, the heavier trailers, specifically older ones had plywood floors.
@@assemblyrequired1 correct, the non lite models.......
So did it fix the leak for good?mine is doing the same thing
Yep! Seems to have taken care of it. I've run it for several hours now and no more puddles under it in storage
@@assemblyrequired1 awesome man thx!
@assemblyrequired How’d your install/charger combo work out?
Hey @SunDeveledEgger, it worked out great!......for a while. Fencer was great, the remote feature was awesome and we were holding 7-8k volts even when the vegetation was up on the fence. Unfortunately a few months ago something killed the fence charger, I'm assuming lightning. I came out and the GFCI breaker that it was plugged in to was popped, tried resetting and it immediately tripped again. Plugged the fencer into a standard outlet and it was dead. The fencer does have a 3 year warranty so I need to get it sent in to be looked at and I'm sure they will take care of it. Possibility that not being able to get all of the grounds in for the lightning arrester came back to bit me. For now I have a gallagher 16 joule that is doing ok, but you can tell that its not as powerful. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Ya did good. I have the same problem I'm looking to repair on my dads Nomad with the same floor.
Thanks! It's done well so far. Good luck with your project, thanks for watching!
Where did you get the new hardware???
I just went to my local hardware store. They had everything. If I remember correctly it was about 6 carriage bolts and a couple grade 8 bolts. Thanks for watching!
Turn the bottom bolt around so nut thread is under the alternator.🇬🇧🇮🇪
I think I mentioned it in the video, but then again maybe I didn't. I tried that, but there wasn't enough clearance between the alternator bracket and the radiator/fan shroud to put the bolt in from that direction. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Dude, thank you! I had been working at some small trailer tires this morning and couldn't break the back beads. Saw that tool, and realized i had an old tool like that in my shed that i never thought i would use. It worked great!
Great! glad it helped! Thanks for watching
Thanks! Galvanic corrosion, understood.
I'm curious what the problems with using treated lumber are?
The issue I was referring to is something called Galvanic Corrosion. Galvanic corrosion is when two metals are in "electrical" contact and it causes one of the metals to corrode faster than the other. That is a very simplified definition. Treated lumber is treated with chemicals that contain copper and chromium, these metals can cause this corrosion. This is why there are screws and nails that are specifically designed for use on treated lumber. They are generally galvanized or coated with something that will "electrically insulate" the fastener from the chemicals in the wood. My concern wasn't the fasteners so much as it is the frame of the camper. The corrosion doesn't always happen, but when it does its pretty damaging. Hope that was a long winded enough answer! Thanks for watching!
Great video thanks for sharing. I'll be doing the same job soon.
Great! Hope it helps! I'm glad I did it. Haven't had an ounce of trouble from it since!
Yooo bro u still active ???
Yep, haven't had a video out for a month or so

Thank You! and Thanks for watching!

@@assemblyrequired1I might just replace the gasket on the top cover since that is where mine is leaking. Is it only held on by two bolts on the top? I’m thinking I could do that and not take the injection pump off my backhoe.
Yes, just the two bolts and then two springs inside. Take note of which hole in the levers that the springs attach! Only problem I could see with your plan is having to work around the loader, but that's a problem no matter what you do!
@@assemblyrequired1 Thanks! That’s a huge help. I was taking a look and think I can get in there. I’ll keep you posted.
Should have bought a closed cell premade hose
Why is that?
There's a reason so few were made...
Why do you think that is?
Has this design proven to be goat-proof in your operation?
It has! We have had the occasional kid get in, but they've never been there looking for food just playing around and found the opening. I try not to spill any dog food and pick it up when I do, try not to give the goats an opportunity to get a taste for the dog food. Thanks for watching and commenting!

More or less, yep! Thanks for watching! Hope it helped you out!
Great video....just like I have done it since I was 17 when I got my 1st car.....still do it now age 71. Made up an easier bead breaker though.....I used to use a flat bar.....around 2 inch wide with a 90deg bend at one end.....ground to a tapper to slide down between tyre and rim.....You belt the flat bar with a 4lb hammer on the bend forcing it into the bead....and keep working it around. I I say got a better method now. I still buy used tyres....and I know how to examine a tyre. Just wish I could find a good way to balance car wheels.....the Harbour Freight Bubble type balancer are just not made accurate these days to be of any use....dont waste your money....they will drive you nuts. Nick in the UK,
Glad to hear it! There are a million ways to break a bead on a tire, and the most important thing about it is that it get broken however its easiest for you! Thanks for watching and for the comment! I enjoy reading these!
Excellent job...gave me incentive for a heads up👍👍
Thanks! Glad it helped! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I am trying to replace the center of my camper floor, there is no support for floor except the frame rails. It has the foam flooring I’m desperate to fix,
Yeah, some of the repairs for that style of floor could be tricky. Maybe run some supports between the frame rails that would support the floor from the bottom side? Good luck and thanks for watching!
Did you need the oblong/oval frame spacer for that rear frame mount bolt? If not, how does it tow without it?
I don't think any kind of spacer is necessary. I never checked to see if a spacer came in the kit new, but I cranked that big bolt pretty tight and there has never been any hint of movement of the hitch or anything. If the bolt is clamping properly I would think it shouldn't need to rely on the edges of the hole to stop it. I'm having no issues with it at all. Thanks for watching and the comment!
Did it make any valve noise when it lost oil pressure?
Zero, that's the major reason I suspected the sending unit at first. I'm glad I stopped and checked things out before I drove it.
Damn you should of been a fucking lumberjack instead of a car mechanic you swing that big ass hammer easier than most swing a regular strait claw roofing hammer lol jolly green giant said he wants to challenge u to a dual
@seankessens5148 Haha! thanks! I'd say its as much, if not more, technique than strength, but I'll take it. Tell that big green bastard I said bring it!
I’ll be dam if I would depend on that remote to shut down the charger 😢 someone at the house hits the garage door opener and it may light your but up . I’m 62 I don’t trust any of this new crap lol
I wouldn't have another charger without it. The remote stays in the mule so I can drive around to check fence and listen for it popping. Shut the fence off with the remote without having to go back to the barn, fix it, turn it back on and move on. HUGE time and headache saver! Besides, even if it doesn't work, what's going to happen? I get shocked, yeah I'll get mad for a couple minutes but that's it. My father-in-law was actually who told me about them, and he's 61! Thanks for watching and for the comment!!
You trying to make your own, is NOT the same as the pre made system. This is bad information. Moisture will get into the drain pipe making the insulation wet and greatly reducing the efficiency of the hot water moving through the pex. Depending where you live you will also need to worry about the wet insulation freezing.
Definitely not bad information. There is nothing magic about the pipe systems that can be purchased. The premade pipe that I was talking about is literally two pipes wrapped in bubble insulation, all inside the exact same black corrugated tubing. As for water.... sure its possible that water could get in to the black pipe, although not likely, and if it does, the insulation that I used is not susceptible to soaking up water. It is polyethylene (plastic) foam. As for the insulation freezing, assuming that the insulation integrity is compromised by water, wouldn't there be so much heat escaping the 150 degree pex pipe that it would warm the insulation (heat escaping) and prevent the insulation from freezing? I'm a couple years in now, and am very pleased with how the plumbing is functioning. The temperature of the water when entering the house is virtually identical to the temperature exiting the wood boiler as closely as I can read on my gauges. If you're comparing what I put together to the system with pex encased in foam filling the entire jacket of the larger pipe? Yes, it holds heat better and is a better product, but in my scenario and in most people's scenario's, the benefits do not justify the additional cost. You're right, my home made piping system is not the same as a pre made system, I'd say its better! Thanks for watching and commenting! However I respectfully disagree with most of what you said.
