Perfect Rush was nerfed compared to Iceborne (in that game it was super OP to the point the rest of the moveset is almost irrelevant) that's why I rarely use it. You can make it work in Sunbreak for some speedruns but I will recommend it mostly for pure RAW matchups. PR also is kinda slow so it's only for big openings. Sword combos on the other hand, shine a lot now because of the fast speed animations, low commitment and incredible sinergy with elemental sets and even with Buildup Boost sets (for Lucent, Flaming Espinas or Wroggi SnS). In this particular run I made a couple of mistakes and a bit later uploaded a 3'23 video or something around that time, but that was title update 4, now the goal should be at least sub 3 mins for Risen Valstrax.

IMO is the best Water SnS but haven't practiced any monster weak to that element. Probably will lose a lot of sharpness using a set like mine here but can work perfect with a different one, if you go for Master's Touch you need all the affinity you can spare, Crit eye 7, Bloodlust for another 20%, etc. Or an alternative for a more casual set is to use Heaven Sent and if you play clean you can also use Maximum Might for 30% affinity while also maintaining infinite sharpness. Having said that, Amatsu SnS has incredible Raw and Metsu will benefit more from it. If I personally use it it will be for a more raw oriented build, but probably elemental can work with a Berserk combo + Dragon Awakening + Max might 3 (another infinite stamina option if you know how to maintain your red HP bar).

@@SavageDiavolos Does that mean windmill does elemental damage!!! I didn't know that, actually never tried, Metsu uppercut is just way too good. My idea for Amatsu weapon is for that sweet silkbind boost and I treat them strictly raw, water element is just a bonus against water weak monsters, I actually use a strongarm frostcraft Amatsu GS build against Rajang, it does its job fine. Also I was using TCS but found out 2 hunts ago Rage slash is easier to land against Rajang's most combo.

@@doha057 Windmill should do both raw and element just like regular sword attacks but Metsu does only raw damage same as all shield attacks that don't apply any element or status. Yeah, Rajang has a juicy elemental hit zone but only in the head.

You mean Windmill? I still use it cause Metsu Shoryugeki is bad against some specific matchups like Velkhana, Diablos and Risen Chameleos (strong elemental matchups or head is a bad hit zone). Metsu is super strong and builds a lot of KO but also has a couple of downsides. Recharge is slow, doesn't do any elemental damage at all, and it gets a lot extra damage from Offensive Guard but the effect only lasts for 15 secs, IMO not worth it in multiplayer when you are and not the only focus of the monster. My advice will be, if you can counter consistently with Metsu against a specific monster then go for it, but if you have a hard timing it then Windmill is fine cause Metsu without the counter the damage is almost the same and Windmill will recharge way faster.

You mean Metsu Shoryugeki? It depends, it's super strong and it builds a ton of KO and mounting dmg, for those reasons you have a lot of control. But if you are not doing a speedrun and rarely counter that much, probably not. Offensive Guard dmg buff is super good but effect only lasts 15 seconds, so in multiplayer you probably won't take the full advantage when you are not the only focus of the monster. It also depends on the matchup, Metsu is just bad against some specific monsters like Diablos, Velkhana and Risen Chameleos (Windmill is the best option in those cases). The answer is yeah, you can prioritize Metsu, and it's worth it for a lot of monsters but my advice is to see how consistent you are timing it and getting all the hits on whatever monster you are playing atm. Regular sword combos also can do the job fine, way better than in World/Iceborne actually (in that game Perfect Rush is way above anything else), so when Metsu isn't working, the other options are still worth it.

@@SavageDiavolos thanks, that helped a lot! SnS combos are so diverse, besides Metsu Shoryugeki, I was also wondering which basic combos to use during fights that can dish out good damage. Typically, do you prioritise hardbasher combo over drill slash?

@@TakashiAsukai I only do hard basher to build some extra KO. In base Rise it was the strongest combo with the spinning reaper finisher buy not anymore. Drill slash I said is not bad but kinda average kinda clunky and slow to pull off. My general combo to go to is (on switch controller inputs) X X-A-A-X+A. The finisher is called round slash and you can turn around with it. After it you reset the loop over and over. There is also a shorter version without the first hit (best suited for pure raw SnS). Another infinite lopp I do is A-A-X (four hits in total) it's using the twin blade combo (you need to change it on the skill list) and you can also turn around with it. This one is more suited for high element SnS. These 3 sword combos are my most used.

Bloodlust gives you 20% extra affinity after curing the frenzy virus so you usually don't need that much Crit Eye, but another one or two points can be slotted in for consistency Edit: It's 20% affinity at Bloodlust lvl 1, but after lvl 2 it actually goes to 25%

It depends on the skills the piece has. If it has some skill you don't mind sacrificing the skills+ option will give you better results most of the time (for example Risen Kaiser Braces had Ballistics, a skill you won't need and even Teo's Blessing can be sacrificed for non-Fire sets). Otherwise you can stay with the normal augmenting option but the RNG is bigger with that one and usually is more expensive and time consuming than the other option. You can also get MoH on talismans after TU5.

Hi. This is from base Sunbreak, no updates, so the build should be kinda weak by TU3. If you are looking for a raw build for that update you can try Wroggi SnS with Buildup Boost and Foray. Even Flaming Espinas SnS works for this set cause the weapon has fire+poison.

Thanks! For pure damage, yes, palamutes are stronger but having sometimes at least one cat for buffs, an extra wirebug or the small dragonator for another topple is not bad at all.
