High school trumpeter, Levi Farrar, plays a trumpet quartet with himself of Arturo Sandovalâs composition, âA Mis Abuelosâ. In English, the title means â For My Grandparentsâ, and itâs because of this title that Levi decided to record this to dedicate it to his wonderful grandparents.

This sounds alive, did you remaster it? Most of Solid Gold quality on youtube is dismal. This actually sounds like a stereo sound. Most other sound like AM radio.
I did a little bit of tweaking to the audio, but really not very much at all. I wish I still had all the old master tapes from when we did all the recording sessions and tapings for the show, but, alas, they are long gone.

I am Michael Miller, the musical director of Solid Gold, and the composer of its theme song. At the time we did Solid Gold, we had no idea that it would have an afterlife on the Internet, so therefore, I never kept the master mixes from all of the recordings we did back then.

And get word out that for AC music on youtube my channel is truly only one dedicated to playing AC music that has the standards of some of your hosts, Like Dionne Warwick ex not sure if you knew but about 5-10 yrs ago she sang a duet with a country artist, we posted that video. No one really knew of it because it didn't get promoted on radio hardly anywhere. Curious do you have or know how to get radio shows on record no longer available? or they say throw out after broadcast? Because there is one show that Diana Ross was dedicated to me, on MG Kelly Top 30 USA.
@@bigeyezzzzzzz that sucks, who knew because of the degradation of music, the 80's would be some of the best music ever in this lifetime? Melodies were real, they played real music instruments , now everything is computer generated. I think Cher is to blame with "Believe", hence autotune everything today, where its not if you can sing. Its all social media, and lip synching.
Wow, even schmaltzier than I remember. Of course, mainstream 70's persisted well into the 80's, only to be blindsided by MTV.
Great to see this full show for the first time. I believe I started to watch the show regularly November 1982. Why did I wait so long?? This was part of the golden years of the show. So much talent! Like the Jazzy end theme music which seemed to have some added horns which were not there later in the season. Did the producers object? Thanks for posting!!
There definitely were no objections about the horns. I just did so many different arrangements of my Solid Gold theme song!

Great memories of Sergio Mendes that I cherish from 1983. He also performed 2 hit songs around the same time with Joe Pizzulo a member of the Solid Gold band back-up singers. So sad to lose another icon. Thanks for the memories Michael!
