Caden Jones #921 - Mideast Harescramble Racing - The Coyote 5/26/2024
First race at a new track and it was a really great layout. Most of the track was pretty tight, though there was some open areas for passing. It was a drag race on the start, but Caden held the throttle on a bit longer and made it to the trees first. Held 1st for 3 laps, but faded by the 4th and 5th laps finishing 2nd at the end.
This puts Caden tied for 3rd in points halfway through the series. Next race is Charner's Run in Union.

The most scenic race location delivered a perfect race weather day. Started off with a definitive holeshot and cranked some competitive lap times, but a course confusion and couple hill climb bottle necks ended up with a 5th on the first lap. The most scenic location on the circuit was home to a perfect race day conditions. Fast track with flowing hills and woods. Raced started off well and was keeping Mike Head #210 in 5th on his toes with Paxton being a 10-20 secs behind, but then a rear flat tire ended the pace. Awesome track with with perfect weather and traction. Great start with the lead crossing the bridge. Was running 2nd the whole race until a small tip over resulted a toasted clutch lever that ended the race. Better luck at the next race - The Stampede. One of the best tracks in the series got even better with perfect traction and weather. Pretty decent start and a clean race till the end. Plenty of back and forth racing with a couple other kids and a 7th place finish for the class and 16th overall. Next up is The Stampede. 2nd Race of the season at one of the best tracks on the circuit. Got off to a decent start, apparently hit a bit of issues with the carb early on and was bogging a bit. Couple full throttle revs cleared it up and was good the rest of the race... but a low side on the first lap resulted in a jammed thumb and it was mostly a joy ride the rest of the race to 10th. Hope for a better run next time. ...

Great weather and track and this is one of our favorites races, and even though we had to do a restart due to a course issue, it was still a great race. This was the first race for Caden on his new YZ250x. On the restart he got the holeshot and was hot on the heels of 1st and 2nd by the end of the 1st lap, but quickly learned that riding a big bike was not the same as racing a big bike.... some...

Used to do all that from the GoPro, but it chews up the battery too fast. Hopefully when he gets a GP12, it might be better.

The rules are there are no rules. Although, kicking a guy into a tree is probably frowned upon and you may get an ass whoopin. I don’t ride just my guess.

Who did the suspension on your husky? How do you like it?
It is a '19 FX350 I bought used with around 22 hours on it. The previous owner had the spring conversion kit from Factory Connection installed and worked over front and rear for a 215# rider. Fits me perfectly and was within a couple clicks of ideal for me. It has a very planted feel, too soft for Moto, but I don't ride that much anymore. I highly recommend it.

What kind of camera do you have
GoPro Hero 7. Works pretty good, but the battery won't last a full race. Additionally it will sometimes lose GPS sync, especially in the right woods and such.

I use the maxxis IT, but I run the 120/90-18 and on this race ran it at about 10 psi. Gives a nice fat footprint. In normal conditions I run around 12 psi.
