if I hire someone to do this for me how much should I be reasonably be charged?

As mentioned having the container leveled and only supported at each corner as it’s designed to be supported will make opening and closing the doors very easy. The opening of the container will literally rack and that’s when the opening and closing of the doors becomes difficult.

In the older years in ky, it was hard getting materials to build. There were saw mills here and there. There were not stores like there are now. Your work is beautiful and thought has gone into the houses you build. Blessings to you and your family

I has a 52" wind turbine(Missouri wind and solar). So cool to play with. Had it up around 33 ft. high. I didnt really produce much though. Its possible one of my connections came loose. Had to move and sold if before i could verify that. Yes solar beat it hands down. Mount yours much higher so it has a chance is my advice. GOD bless!

SPOILER ALERT! Most wind turbine stories end with the line, "...save yourself the time, money and agrravation by putting up another solar panel or two". Wind turbines that aren't set well above your roof line, with no nearby tree lines to disrupt the flow of wind currents, rarely produce enough output to ever realize a return on investment. In other words, they just don't make sense in most situations.

I've been using straps for a year now and still learned a few interesting things here, especially on what to do with the slack. Definitely gotta try that loop thing. I feel like the hooks on the straps I use aren't good to go on the outside of the rail and back up onto the rail itself. It seems like the hook don't fit properly. I thought maybe it is because I use my straps horizontally (I use them in a cube truck) and also because the small segment of strap at the end (where the hook is) is too rigid for the hook to fit properly. The protecting rail is designed to protect staps. Never hook up the strap to the rail.

Since you drilled those big holes in the side of the building, i would just install the whole thing outside (maybe in a box) and use one hole to draw air from your cabin into the heater and the the other hole to blow the heated air back into your cabin. That would keep all the fuel, the noisy fuel pump, and the heater itself outside and you'd just have the 2 air holes and the control thing inside your cabin

Wind is about as reliable as a crackhead on payday! I'd invest in either hydro or buy a quality generator. And for those who complain about their generator not starting, stop using ethanol in them.

Great video. I agree the type of splitter one gets should be driven by the type of wood you have access to. I bought a 12 ton electric kinetic splitter. I love the speed, moving it around my yard (in the city) is easy. BUT the ram arm with teeth have already worn down so much that it slips when I engage it. The dealer has shipped me new pieces (on their way) but it's only 7 months old. I will look to adjust the way I pull the handle to engage the ram arm if possible to prevent in future but this is definitely a draw back on the design of this model I got. I will leave the brand out of the comments as they are helping me fix the problem for now.

That's a pellet oven not a grill . Open the lid and see if you can grill anything

Hi Steve, I have an EG4 18kpv hybrid inverter, 31kwh of EG4 LL batteries and 13kw of solar PV panels. The 18kpv can take power input from the pv panels, batteries, my generac generator and grid (when it's up) and seemlessly blend all of them together to supply the house load first and then keep the batteries charged secondarily. I was originally using a two critical load transfer switches to power the majority of the house. But last Friday I had an electrician wire in a (huge) 2 way transfer switch so I am now powering the whole main panel. Unfortunately, I am depleting my batteries over night so I will be looking into another 31kwh rack of batteries (and they're expensive). FYI I have a 2,000 square foot house and an outbuilding with a shop downstairs and home theater upstairs.
