Hey Ryan, nice sound on that guitar... What' is written on the headstock?

Beautiful playing and tone. I hear some 60Hz or 120Hz hum though. I suspect that’s coming from the amp rather than being picked up by the guitar.

I have an OM2H (not traditional, but original). Collings makes the best guitars. Curious what kind of strings are used here?

Purchased a month ago. Played the guild and have also owned an ovation 12. Like this one best but the Guild is also a great sounding guitar. Can’t go wrong with either.

I had a music store in 1966 and used Harmony Stella for my beginning students. They sold for $49.95 at that time. There were no imports of guitars at that time. For cheap guitars Harmony and Kay were the only options. They were both horrible junk. I had to file down the saddle, and saw bigger slots in the nut to make them playable. I rented them for fifty cents a week. The lesson was $2.00. They could keep the guitar if they paid the $49.95 through the rentals. I don't think anyone lasted that long, the parents usually paid off the balance when they quit.

Good modern guitars have such pristine definition in the high-mids and highs, and they usually also have good extension in the bass. But what good _old_ guitars have is because of their _lack_ of those qualities: An old Martin or Gibson (as different as they sound) will have a really satisfying thump in the low mids. It's _especially_ noticeable just because the bass extension & high-mids are a little less pronounced. (And yes, Martin dreads have always had great bass, but that bass doesn't always go down as _low_ as a good modern guitar.)

Beautiful playing, and a fine instrument. I own a '63, and based on the appointments of the guitar you're playing, it appears to be made somewhere post-1965. Again, beautiful instrument.
