Tech Tip On Fixing Broken Vintage 1995 1997 Tickle Me Elmo. He Giggles And Talks, But Doesn't Shake
Hey Everyone. Thanks for tuning in to Sponges Tech Tips. If you're a subscriber, or even tuned in before, normally, we are working on car and trucks. But today, we are expanding our canvas. Today, we are gonna repair this vintage 1995 1997 Tickle Me Elmo from Tyco. Along with the repair, I'll walk you through the process to changing the batteries along our tutorial. At the end of the video, I mention that I was going to share with you the success of failure. I'm happy to report, it was a success. I don't mention it in the video, but upon further examination, I found a small split in the little plastic gear. So, despite the fact that my repair worked, there is no telling how long it will continue to. If you can source it, a replacement gear would be recommended. That being said, thanks for watching. Don't forget to subscribe, like this video, and make sure to stop by the comments section and say hi. - Sponge

That is, even if they would want to try my tech tips process. Most likely, they will drag you through a process of having to pay to have a locksmith get involved. My father is trying to remove the middle seat and the rear back seats of the 2008 Honda pilot. He told me that there are no bolts on the end of each rail. The bolts are in the middle of the rail and the 14mm socket won't fit into the rail to remove the nuts. Hi. Thanks for your question. In this particular year make and model, there is no connection to any SRS plugs. So it would have no effect on triggering the airbag warning light in the gauge cluster. Other vehicles may have that, but it is pretty rare for rear seats. Front seats, especially the drivers seat, would almost always have a connection. Hopefully this helps. Thanks for watching. I’m upgrading to a leather wheel from a salvage vehicle. Can I move my recall updated airbag over? Thanks

    • @spongestechtips-xu1xg
      @spongestechtips-xu1xg Před 2 měsíci

      Hi. Thanks so much for your question. Hopefully I can help you out. I probably would need a bit more information, but I'll try my best. You most likely already know, but the airbag is mostly a separate unit from the steering wheel. It just bolts into the center and could be described as the horn button. If the two wheels are out of a similar year model, with the same options, it should swap over fine. If the new wheel is a premium steering wheel, possibly with more options, like stereo and cruise or computer controls, it/they may not work. As for a recalled airbag, I'm not sure of what was recalled. If it was in the airbag itself, you should be fine. If it was something in or in-between the clock spring, that may need to swapped also. In the case of the pilot I was working on here, I swapped both the leather wheel and the airbag with no problems. Worse case scenario, swap them over, if any check airbag system lights come on, plug it in to a diagnostic computer and see if it can be reset. If it comes on again, you may have to transfer more, or go back to your original. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. Hopefully you'll take the time to subscribe. - Sponge
