I'm no pro, but I like to fish and I like to share whatever I can to help others get into fishing or learn something new. I'm a local Colorado expert in kayak & shore fishing, fishing challenges, Ice fishing, stream and river fishing and much more. I also do unboxing videos, fishing gear & tackle reviews. I am also a dad of three girls and husband with a full time job, but I do all of this because I literally can't get enough fishing in daily. I love fishing and everything that goes into the planning and preparation of a trip. My truck stays loaded with gear and I am always looking for my next opportunity to wet a line. Colorado State Parks Series: E4 Eleven Mile Reservoir #troutfishing
Episode 4 is one of my favorite State Parks, Eleven Mile. I have spent a lot of time here over the years and I have a ton of experience fishing the Mile. Eleven Mile offers year round recreation and is also one of my favorite ice fishing destinations. In this episode I did an overnight at one of the back country campsites that I kayaked into. I had a excellent trip with some really quality fish including a new PB!

I have had a string of bad luck recently, where I have lost several fish that have broken me off. I had a nice bass do a deep dive into some weeds the other day, so instead or horsing him out and breaking him off, I worked hard to free the fish from the deep dark weeds and managed to get him in. A practice of patience and determination.

I took my first trip to Nebraska to fish some of the ponds and lakes along the I-80 corridor. I took a lap around one of my neighborhood lakes catching little Perch and Sunfish. Every lake and pond has that BIG ONE, and I think I found THE big one today. Talk about the big fish in a small pond!! A new PB and a Master Angler, that I was not expecting.

As a part of Fish a Day in May, I was targeting Bass at my local pond. I was using some baits I would normally only use to target Bass (hint, they came from my recent 6th Sense sub sack), yet they were doing the trick for some hungry trout. Had the kayak on this reservoir a couple times. Lots of carp jumping in the AM. Did manage to catch a healthy, chunky trout on a diver last trip. Other than that, it can be really slow. Have seen snake-sized pike caught from shore near the boat launch.
What number is the box?

There are some really big Wipers in that lake. Im talking over 3 ft. I dig the channel.

Seriously - a Tasmanian Devil ... Thought you were jigging or something; never in my life have i caught something on those, and i was just at eleven mile 2 weeks ago. Were you throwing the taz from the shore too?
From shore I was using a white paddle tail swimbait. But yea those tax devils work well in about 20-30 feet trolling along weed lines. Tight lines!
Those are some great looking whopper trout! Smoked trout is so good, just smoked some much littler dudes me and my youngest caught. Fish on brother!

We fished there 2 years ago. Caught some sun but nothing else. And yes, it can get windy.

That was a good fight, glad you caught that dude! Half of fishing is know when to hold em, know when to fold em. No clue what pond that is but looks decent, some shade even. I’ve resorted to the hills, creeks and lakes fishing trout close enough but not dying from heat. Cheers brother, tight lines!

What area was this? I fish the platte but more further north. I only catch trout or carp but the carps are massive!

Simply run hook of spinner bait thru the silicone rubber on eye of trailer hook..
Thinking about going out there this weekend and wondering what bait to use. What would you recommend?
@@oscarpulido2649 I saw it may be closed for toxic algae, so double check before you head all the way out there. If you do make it out, I would recommend the old trusty night crawler. Also would not hurt to put something that mimics a minnow on the bottom. Good luck 🤞!

Hi, I just wanted to ask , did you get permission to get on this lake or you just came there and started to fish? I wanna try to fish from shore
It’s a state park, so either have a state park license or you can buy day permits. Fishing from the shore can be challenging, in spring the water was much deeper than you’ll find now, just went on Wednesday and the water level is way down since it’s a reservoir that serves the farmer’s irrigation needs. It’s 10 minutes from my house so I’ve been here a lot. Plenty of carp if you’re interested in that. Some trout but it’s tougher on land since they’re cold water lovers and go deeper - middle of the reservoir in the summer. Night fishing or early morning is your best bet for anything much. There are a couple of trees by the dock and fishing pier, otherwise no shade. Mosquitoes can be a nightmare at night so pack bug spray, otherwise good luck and fish on!

can you fish the entire bank all the way around this lake ? or only certain areas,, debating on bringing my boat or not. mainly want to target pike
I think there are definitely areas you would have a hard time getting to on foot if you didn't want to get wet or muddy. Good luck on the Pike search!
We go every year to target pike. Me and my brother are sponsored and We fish from shore and boat. Last year I caught 18 Master Angler pike from shore and boat. 9 from boat and 9 on shore. 7 of them over 42 inches. Great place to catch trophy pike and trout. We are getting big trout as well as pike. I would hold off till the water temps reach mid 50’s so the pike are aggressive. Right now the water temps are low 40’s and the pike are spawning.

Where did you decide to put your battery and livescope black box?
I used the portable bag you get with the ice fishing bundle. I have it all right there behind the screen and it's nice that it's portable. Also upgraded to a lithium ion battery, weighs much less.
