It's honestly amazing to think about...a twenty year old British kid gave his song to one of the most legendary producers of all time, a guy who helped guide the careers of Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin, but then redid the song and handily outperformed the legend. George amped up the drums and the guitar riff, gave the bassline a little more pop and sizzle, and laid down a stronger vocal. The results are night and day, though...it's a testament to just how talented George was. And he still gave a writing credit to Andrew, which has helped the guy live comfortably ever since. And that is a testament to how kind George was.

The Wexler version lacks the timeless quality of George's version.

Never have heard or seen this version before...Thanks for posting it....Maybe it will be re-released in the future in one of those "deluxe" editions.
