Properly Fix 3.3v Pin Sleep Issue on Newer Drives

Here's a quick tutorial on how to fix the 3.3 volt sleep issue that happens to newer hard drives. If your hard drive is new, working, but doesn't show up even though the SATA connection is correct, this might be the issue.

    what cooler is that? I had a noctua l9i-17xx and a bequiet put rock slim 2, but neither can handle my i7-12700k

    Hi, I just bought the same hardware and currently figuring out my ideal setup / install. Would like to see what you did and what you came across as pro/conn's. Do you the AX as an ap behind the RB5009? Do you also use the POE option?

      @thewizardsemporium Před měsícem

      Hey there, this reminds me that I haven't touched on the subject in a while. Yes I used the PoE with the AP running from the RB5009. I came up with something interesting. I'll make a video explain how and what I experienced in a while 🙂

    Did you just greet me with "nerds"? I'm highly offended, but only because you're right.

    Thanks for this. I'm new so this helps. I think the plugin has a diff name now tho. How likely is my new NVME cache ssd to fail? Should I get another ssd so that they mirror each other in raid 1??

      @thewizardsemporium Před 3 měsíci

      It's unlikely but you have to make sure it's made using TLC NAND, and that you're not writing to it too much. They are extremely durable as long as it's a brand name.

    “Where’s the homeland?” *camera angle drops “Oh” lol Nice set up! You pretty much thought of everything. I really like that cable raceway. If they are available in your area, you should check out the Husky brand workbenches. They are very sturdy and would be great for everything you have going on.

    I've been looking at this case for years wanting to do a dual system build -- glad to see I can make it look good once I put it together!

      Yeah for sure. I would recommend air cooling where possible. Let me know if you've got any 'will it fit' questions.

    Very nice, very clean and organised! Good job One question tho: why didn't you remove the plastic wrap from the PC Case? I think you should do that to avoid static from it and prevent the PC from heating more.

    • @thewizardsemporium
      @thewizardsemporium Před 4 měsíci

      The plast wrap doesn't have an effect on the cooling. You're right though, I want to remove it as soon as possible. All the server parts have sharp edges. When I move them in and out of it have a tendency to scrape the side panel. The glass door always seems to want to close while I'm working. I really don't want to scrape the glass before I get to take the final pictures at least 🙂

    Very clean! Love the use of the short racks. Seems ideal for a sit-stand desk, no mass of cables to raise and lower

    I've heard stories of people getting these 'jammed' and forcing them out, in the process destroying the port and/or module. Try this first.

    Additional Notes: The CA Backup/Restore plugin should ideally be backing up to a share on another pool. This will help if it's your cache disk that fails.

    Hey man! Don't you think that at this point you're better off with your server being in a different case? I just don't see how a huge GPU and many different expansion cards ON TWO DIFFERENT MOBOS will fit into this case. I personally was searching dual PC videos to build a small Linux PC into my main rig. I'd love to use Linux only, but some games I play are windows only because of anti cheat.. On the other hand, programming and routine tasks are so much snappier and more convenient on Linux, so I'm forced to reboot between OSs every now and then. I think that building a small Linux PC for programming inside the main windows rig is a great idea for my use case, what do you think? Maybe, some suggestions on the components? I'm thinking between a 5700g and a 7700 build, but not sure if the efficiency gain is worth it for the price increase. Also don't really know about the case, there aren't many videos on the topic and most of the cases are very expensive.. Would love to hear your opinion

      Hi. I found your comment interesting so instead of writing it all out here I mentioned what my thoughts were on the next video. For gaming on Linux, in my opinion the best performance option is a windows hardware passthrough with something like Looking Glass. If this causes issues with anti-cheat, you might want to consider having a Windows host instead, then using WSL for your Linux tasks or having a Linux VM. I use WSL, it's not perfect but it's good enough, now that I have this system running, I'll be using VMs under Proxmox over noVNC.
