Not sure of the date, but done every August. The National Museum of Ireland gives them an open door.
Les irlandais ont une tradition multiséculaire de service au sein de l'armée française. Sous la royauté, l'armée française comportait une brigade irlandaise (The wild geese), la brigade des oies sauvages, composée de 5 régiments. C'est d'ailleurs en partie grâce à la brigade irlandaise que les français ont gagné la bataille de Fontenoy en 1745 sur les anglais. L'armée royale possédait également 2 régiments écossais. L'IRA n'a jamais fait d'attentats en France et n'a jamais porté atteinte aux intérêts français. C'est pour remercier les irlandais que les gouvernements français successifs ont fait du zèle pour collaborer avec les anglais dans la lutte contre le nationalisme irlandais. Il est vrai que la République Française craint toujours les nationalismes celtiques et les liens entre les bretons, les irlandais, les écossais ou les gallois.

@@filipuucorsu6636 Exact. Comme la Bretagne, la Corse a été jusqu'en 1789 un province "réputée étrangère". Dans une monarchie, un Roi peut régner sur plusieurs nations. A propos de la bataille de Fontenoy, le Régiment "Royal Corse" était présent.

La Reine d'Angleterre règne non seulement sur la nation anglaise mais également sur les nations écossaises et irlandaises (du nord). Les gallois et les écossais bénéficient d'une liberté linguistique et culturelle totales. Tout cela est incompréhensible pour des français qui, d'ailleurs, mélangent souvent tout quand ils parlent de la Grande-Bretagne. Il est significatif que les indépendantistes écossais, dans leur programme, ne veulent absolument pas quitter le Commonwealth et que la Reine Elisabeth resterait Reine d'Ecosse en cas d'indépendance. Une autre planète...loin du jacobinisme. Il faut aussi se rappeler que c'est la Royauté qui a empêché l'explosion de la Belgique, état artificiel inventé à la fin 19ème siècle par les anglais et les français.

Bizarre. That the Irish, such a friendly, generous, cultured people, have over centuries always produced such superb fighting soldiers. Whatever the army they served in. And the people they wished to serve. When the UN Irish forces were about to leave S. Lebanon, the locals blockaded the road to prevent it. That's how much they loved those young lads who had gone there to help them. That's the nature of the Irish, so you would be very silly not to be on the same side as them !

Après que Napoléon ait envoyé 60 000 hommes pour aider à la lutte contre les Anglais, et dont la plupart ont été massacrés les survivants ont été cachés par la population. Depuis, un certain nombre d'Irlandais ont du sang français. Que veux-tu, faut bien se réchauffer et soigner les blessés.
