To anyone who knows the exact date of this recording, please let me know! I love to watch videos like these all the time, and they are so nostalgic to watch! Disclaimer: This is not the ever-so-sought-after, audio-only final sign off from August 30, 1983. This sign off is actually from earlier that year. As always, no copyright infringement was intended. Also, courtesy of this nostalgic video b...
And before you ask... I really enjoyed the show, as evidenced by my multitude of "bravos" and evil laugh.
I’ve had a lot of trouble finding the later whereabouts of Rev. McFadden. Apparently he was still around when Fuzzy originally posted this video in 2008/9, but his trail goes cold after that.
Because so much time has passed, I can only assume that he died a long time ago.
He’s actually retired now. Just saw him recently
@@fathermattguckin6375 Good to hear! I hope he's doing well!
Dan Foley was the WKBS announcer.
The way it should be: with static at the end!
Their former sister station, WFLD in Chicago had "Thought for Today."
thanks for sharing this it's my favorite part of the show
You are welcome.
This is my footage of WKBS-TV, which was misappropriated by "Fuzzy" (who then stamped his imprint on it). It's from the summer of 1983, just a few months before the station went dark. I have several hours of channel 48 footage from this period, including entire broadcasts of the "Late Movie" (specifically, a week's worth of Laurel & Hardy films the station ran from 11:30 pm until 1:00 am, when they signed-off for the night).
Wow, I didn't believe you had this footage.
Do you have any recordings of the WKBS "Fun Machine" kids show?
@@yerkeskid Unfortunately, I don't.
Sir Douglas do you have a prayer for today with the kaiser channel 48 logo? The sign off consisted of fyi the 10 minute public affairs show and a slides newscast down by a live announcer before prayer for today
@@vln2012 I'm sorry to say I have nothing from channel 48 with the Kaiser logo (that logo was retired in 1977, a few years before VCR's came into use). I do have an edition of "FYI" from 1983 (which manages to be boring in under ten minutes), lots of channel 48 commercials (also from '83) and a master print of a 1982 "Creature Double Feature" intro & outro from WLVI-TV that exists nowhere else. In any event, congratulations on your fine memory!
The good Father spoke well
I hope you post a full wkbs 48 sign on with same ownership as this sign off
Okay, I'll do that as soon as possible.
How soon b4 a field com wkbs 48 sign on gets posted?
@@tupac280001 Unfortunately, I don't know.

Wish FC should have owned a couple of stations in Cleveland and Los Angeles too. But unfortunately, it's not to be. :(
YES ...final someone has a memory of how broadcasting used to be
At least we get a video of a WKBS Signoff. Not the one we're looking for, but still.
What do you mean, David?
@@darthneon0701 that we got a WKBS signoff. BUT we're still looking for the elusive 8/30/83 final signoff
@@davidmatthewvinotjr8396: Don't worry, the audio exists!
I was meaning the actual video. I know the audio is out there, just looking for actual video footage.
The video was on Retro Junk around 2008-2010, so it does exist.
