United Kingdom
Registrace 30. 01. 2017
Bannockburn House is packed full of amazing history, architecture and stories. Including, worn out back stairs where the servants used to run up and down a hundred times a day, a laundry room where you can imagine the hard work, blood, sweat and tears produced, a grand main hall with an exceptionally beautiful ceiling, a room with 4 doors, a Victorian extension and a safe with no key! In every room, hallway and cupboard is a new surprise and you can just imagine the lives of those who lived there before.

Gosh….4 years has passed very quickly! I’d forgotten how much my Ovillus was working overtime that day! Such a special place with special Spirits who deserve so much respect.
Tried to order one...are they still available?
I am very sorry they are currently out of stock.
Beautiful and made with a skilled hand what a lovely lady Don't mind people suggesting a draw string keep them traditional I can't wait to order my bonnet to go go with my Jacobite piping uniform.. God bless the brave souls at Culloden including the Irishmen that's stayed on the field to allow the Highlanders to retreat Greetings from Dublin
A FANTASTIC RECIPE....Thank you for sharing.
Looks so good! How about a nice cup o tea? 🐯❤🐯
Very interesting!!!
Thank you.
Gorgeous.....
Thank you! 😊
Looking forward to this. I might have to watch it after it premiers. Unfortunately, I'll be at the day job that day.
Thank you . We hope to do more about the teams /events and history of the building in upcoming podcasts.
@@bannockburnhouse Looking forward to hearing about everything that's going to be happening.
This was a great introduction to the world of "The Caley". My county's library has lost their only book about the Caledonian so I'm pleased that this lecture was freely available so that I could learn about it.
Hello I have just been given a box full of war medals that are original from my farther in law and it is all A&SH I am doing my research into the division and the family name that's on them
Thank you for your comment. I hope you have found some information. L
Such terrific enthusiasm and so much welcome detail.
Thank you very much
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Once, for fun, I carved bone pins out of a cow thigh bone. Most of the shaping was done by filing, and had to be done wet, to prevent serious lung issues. It took a long time, and they came out curved. That was actually more comfortable in my hands.
Great to hear.
I enjoyed your video. I am a self-taught knitter and recognize how much work goes into one of these bonnets. I wish I could knit with double-pointed needles with your skill.
Thank you so much!
Nice to hear The Corries.
Very beautiful work! I’d love to someday purchase one of your bonnets. I’m from the USA, and would have to ship it here. I’m impressed by the time invested into each bonnet, as well as the quality of work of the finished product. I had no idea how large they actually were before being felted 😂
Thank you for the message, Of course, you can purchase one of our blue bonnets. please email us at onlineshop@bannockburnhouse.scot and we can get something sorted for you.
Gosh. A full cheery simple explanation given in the first minute. It all comes down to someone burning the wooden fence that 'supported' it, melting the entire massive rock defensive wall. That's one big supposition I might propose. I ve been having bonfires all my life and cannot remember any that melted anything whatsoever.
Not to forget that a bunch of curious blokes in the 60's tried to do just that with a massive pile of wood, over three days, and nothing happened to the rock.
Is it giving away too much to tell us what sort of wood makes for a good wood pin? Or to just tell me?
So much fun . Thanks for making this video.
Much thanks.
What a wonderful artist! The exhibition is wonderful, to see the portraits in their home is a treat. Get a ticket while you still can!
Mark Leslie is a truly great contemporary photographic portrait artist. This exhibition will be magnificent....
Grandfather CplJames Neeson 2nd Battalion. Won MM mentioned in despatches! Lewis gunner!
Dr. Murray. Make good job
Informative and interesting David. I was brought up in Callander in the 50/60's.
Great Grandfather Arthur McBennett ❤️
Thank you David for a very informative, well presented and interesting lecture. I remember travelling many times with steam on the Callander & Oban railway in the late 50/early 60's before it closed with many a rail trip via Stirling and Buchanan Street. 👍
Very, very interesting. Thank you.
thank you
My great grandfather was pipe major thomas aitken. Who was wounded in 1916 at longueval, and awarded the DCM. aged 60.
