Ariano '25 scores big with baseball internship
Kade Ariano '25 from Geneseo, Ill., took on the role of Game Day Operations intern at Modern Woodmen Park, home of the Quad Cities River Bandits, this summer! ⚾

Christiana Bourtzoni '25 from Greece, a biology and public health major, made a difference this summer as a cancer peer support intern at Gilda's Club Quad Cities. It's nice to think that there's a social change when it comes to race but there isn't as long as you have parents raising their kids to be racist and them raising their kids to be racist it's always going to be alive and well. So when you hear all this talk about ending racism it'll never happen

This song is so special. My grandparents brought this over from Sweden in the late 1800's. It has been sung always at every one of my family's wedding, baptisms, confirmation, children's sermons and funerals. When first presented to the Swedish King he adopted it for use in Sweden. Prior to his edict this song was not used in Swedish Lutheran churches cuz it was too folksy. History has shown us how vital such music is. I have myself sung this song a great deal over the past decades. Many listeners have commented on how this was their favorite song that I have sung in churches. This fall I get to sing it in front of a group of semi-pro musicians and distinguished guests. That honor and privilege overwhelms me. I am doing it in both Swedish and English. I hope it brings the house down. Pray for me, please. Me How fitting for it to be sung by this choir in Luther's church. :-)
I love this hymn especially when I play it on the organ.
It is even adopted into a children's lullabye in Turkey (home of St Paul)

It is the class of 2018, because that's when they will graduate Augustana. They were the class of 2014 at their respective high schools.
This video should be required viewing for anyone wanting to lead a happy/successful life. When I worked at PepsiCo, I had tremendous respect for Brenda, At the time, she was a brand manager. Now as then, she is brilliant, focused, hard-working and I have never seen a better role-model. Listen carefully, her words are priceless.
Every year we try to come up with a fun but meaningful way to say "Merry Christmas." Last fall, an ambitious first-year student, Andrew Skalak, started working in our Student Video Bureau, and we handed him the holiday challenge. He's turned in his work and we're giving Andrew an A (and probably more projects). Merry Christmas to you and your family from Augustana College.
