During the 2020 portion of Quarantine I created a "Tiki Cocktail Series" for everyone to enjoy while at home. I was inspired & motivated to share my knowledge and enthusiasm for home bartending. So I began filming more cocktail videos!

Eclectic Jet Pilot Riff Cocktail that's Surprisingly Easy to Make! The "Morale & Welfare" cocktail!
Today we are talking about the amazing cocktail by Ryan Lotz called "Morale & Welfare!" Today's cocktail is a Jet Pilot riff. While it does have some differences, at its core it is a Jet Pilot cocktail. But it's easier to make and is served up. It is not a complicated cocktail, but it tastes like one! In today's video I will go over how to make the "Morale & Welfare" Jet Pilot riff and give you a sub or two as well. So let's do it. Hang tight pilots, pull up a recliner and I'll happily show you how to make this eclectic cocktail!
"Morale & Welfare" | Cocktail Ingredients
Here is the OG Recipe:
2 Dashes Xocolatl Mole Bitters
1/2 oz. (15ml) Grapefruit Juice
3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) Fresh Lime Juice
3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) Cinnamon Syrup
1 1/2 oz. (45 ml) Aged Overproof Rum (Preferably OFTD)
Here are the subs I made by splitting the base:
1 oz. (30 ml) Aged Overproof Rum (Preferably OFTD)
1/2 oz. (15 ml) Pineapple Rum

2 to 1 syrup will keep for at least 14 months. It is toxic to bacteria and 1 to 1 is not.
I have about 14 lavender plants and I plan on making this. When you say buds….are you talking about the flower part? And if so, do you pick at full peak, after or before? Do you let them dry out first? Sorry for all the questions, I just want to get this right the first time. Thank you so much for the video.
I add lavender in my tea all the time. Delicious hot or cold.

Why though? Pure honey doesn't go off, all that's been achieved by premixing it is giving it an expiration timer because there's now enough water that stuff can grow in it.😢
Is that why? I was wondering why it only had a shelf life of 3 weeks when honey keeps for much longer.
Been meaning to try this for a while It just seems the passionfruit syrup I have is just too sweet and dominant. I got no hints of pisco gin amd falernum. I will eventuality try it again when I get my hands on some passionfruit alize. Maybe a passionfruit liqueur wont be so over whelming.

the point of 2to1 simple is that it's shelf stable, doesnt go bad
MMmmmm. It does take a very long time before it goes bad. But at some point unless you have a completely sterile environment, it will go bad. Starts to get little floaters in it. Since I make mine at home, in my kitchen, it's impossible for me to keep it totally sterile. There's your next experiment...how long can a 2:1 simple syrup last in the fridge when made at home?
