CompetitionX began its online presence back in 2001 as a beginners guide to Radio Control (RC). In my early days in RC, there was a time where I was pretty clueless as to how to tune a car, what the correct ‘racing-line’ was or why a certain set of tire inserts made such a big deal! CompetitionX is my way of helping out the new person (or anyone, for that matter), making it easy for them to learn about all the aspects of Radio Control without the ‘weirdness’ of approaching that ‘hero’ driver that always seems busy.
Over the 20+ years I’ve been racing, I have quite a few wins on my racing resume. Included in that are 11 National Titles, 14 Regional Titles and a slew of big-race wins. So I do have a little knowledge and am more than happy to share that with you. Hope it helps! Oh, and spread the word!

CompetitionX was one of the lucky few to receive an invite to the 20th Anniversary of AMain Hobbies. This invite included a dinner to get to know the staff, a tour of their amazing 50,000 sq.ft. warehouse and some track time on the HUGE 120x62 carpet track!
We were also treated to an amazing AMain timeline by owner and visionary Kendall Bennett as he walked us through how it all started in his garage with wife Kelly.

sort out the suspension too, not good.
It's not great - definitely needs more tuning options. We're working on upgrading to the new Rally suspension setup to see if it makes it any better.

Do you use locktite on any of the screws? Also didnt see a link to those teflon coated pliers.
We only use threadlocker when screws are going into any type of metal, including aluminum. It doesn't take much - just a light dab - to keep the screws in place. We actually added a Threadlock logo in the parts required boxes on screen. The pliers can be found here: alnk.to/fSgG4Xb Enjoy!

Thats a pretty cool idea for a track. I didn't even know they did RC rally racing like this. Is there any place to look online to find out if there is a rally course near me?
Ya, it's really fun. As far as tracks, not that we know of. Unfortunately, Rally isn't the most popular segment of the RC hobby - which is odd because it really if alot of fun.
One thing I didn't hear mentioned was a low profile servo is required
To be honest, when this video was made we weren't 100% certain you COULDN'T use a full size servo - yet. So, sorry about that.

Yes, however it is geared for a 3S LiPo pack so on 2S it's going to be quite slow. We changed ours to a more respectable gearing and it was MUCH better.

US versions come with the Hobbywing THW-1060 ESC.

Amain Hobbies ! They have a awesome support team via billing issue's or parts on your RC car ! they are differently there for you they pretty far away from me but dealing with them feels like your Local Hobby Store.
Agreed. We did talk about the Customer Support and how they have a dual-team for different time zones. Kendall feels CS is one of their greatest assets.
I do believe that if it had a more powerful motor, it could be so much better on the straights because it seems to be doing wonderfully around the turns
Agreed. We wanted to go easy on it at first so as to not crash it. However, we might drop in something a little more powerful now and see what it can do!
Great video! I just built mine and the suspension on the front would push the wheels out & after watching you’re video I realised I put the steering rack outer pins on the top of the hubs when they should go on the bottom ✌️

I love the cut ins going over the features between runs, it's very cool. This chassis is very enticing, it looks way better than the old rally m-chassis tamiya had.

It does with some aftermarket available as well (mostly through AE).

Did you need to shorten the motor shaft on your juststock motor?
Shorten the motor shaft? Ummm, no - not sure how you'd even do that without grinding. Standard motors should fit fine in this car.
Useless expensive product. Better to buy something really important.
As we mentioned in the video, it is one of those products that you just might not need, however it does help organize your area if space is limited.

Yes, most buggy wheels with a 12mm hex should fit this car. Just pay attention to the inner diameter of the wheel to make sure it clears the BBX suspension parts.
