Is This The Best Cycling Sock For Everyday Life?
QEJA Socks are newer to the sock game, think they have what it takes to hang with the veterans? Not only are they adding some Italian "class" to their socks that they claim are built for everything from the rigors of cycling to everyday life but they are also using...cotton? Say what? I've put these things through the wringer for over a year and I have my genuine, honest review. Tune in to see if QEJA (Kay-jah) Socks can crush the group ride, the race day, the trip to the library and everything in-between.

Forge Bond may be new to the carbon wheel scene but their founders have quite the pedigree when it comes to composites manufacturing. Located in Gunnison, UT I stopped in to pick up a set of wheels and put them through the tests. They have budget wheels (Shift Series) with a price I couldn't pass up on for American Made. Conversation On the Climb: Fueling On the Bike
zhlédnutí 30Před měsícem
How to stay fueled on the bike is no easy task. It seems everyone has a different method. The more I dive into things, it seems most conversations are tailored to the professional level athlete. Those who not only CAN put down 90-120 carbs/hour but NEED that many carbs. Let's face it, the Average Joe doesn't need that fueling strategy. Tune in to find out what I have found works best for me. Hydrating on a Budget?

I stumbled upon a mom and pop nutrition company out of Flagstaff, Arizona. Think they've got what it takes to stack up against the big guys? I have tried most all of them. Skratch Labs, EFS, Tailwind, Maurten, Hammer, LMNT, Gnarly Nutrition, the new Mortal Hydration, etc... The list could go on for a while. I have also tried a handful of smaller brands and definitely have mixed reviews. After o...

Killer vid. When will we see a ford ranger review? The ultimate adventure-mobile
Thanks man! Oh man, I think you just hit pure gold. 100% gold. I don’t know if the internet is ready for that review but there is only one way to find out…
Yes, as a former Ford Ranger owner, we need this.
Can I try one for free😅❤🚴
I wish I was Oprah at this moment
I think people have been fooled into thinking carbon is better for every component on a bike. Carbon frame, carbon fork, carbon bars, carbon stem, carbon saddles, carbon wheels, carbon carbon carbon. I have a custom titanium bike I had a US custom builder make for me in 2021. I opted for titanium bars and stem, titanium seatpost, and bottle cages. But I originally had some carbon wheels from Boyd and then switched to aluminum. I switched back to carbon after a while, then switched back to the aluminum wheels. I'm staying with the aluminum wheels. It's a better ride feel and to be honest gives me a little more sense of security. The cool kids can keep their carbon wheels.
Big fan of titanium. I’m actually saving up for a Ti gravel rig right now. It’s light, has stellar ride quality and the best part? It doesn’t get damaged like carbon does. After having ridden Ti, Aluminum, steel, carbon, etc… for frames I opted for carbon for my road race bike. I think each material has its pros and cons for sure, but I liked the pros more than the cons for this rig so I stuck with it. Been super happy thus far. As far as rims go, I’ve noticed a big difference in ride quality over aluminum and they are way lighter which is a huge bonus for those 4+ hour days. Totally understand where you’re coming from but I don’t think I’ll be switching back to aluminum.
Thank you for making this! Somewhat in the market for new wheels as I ordered a new bike recently
You bet! Glad it was helpful. Hope you’re enjoying the new bike!
Ride the Pink long and hard ? Here comes your warrior. 🤔
Great bike, well done. You’ll eventually upgrade your wheels but no hurry. Put some miles on it.
@@petersouthernboy6327 just hit the 1,000 mile mark on it and she’s still rilling. Swapped the wheels out for some Forge+Bond Shift CR 45’s and they run like a dream.
ventum and budget in same sentence?
Haha yeah, maybe not the most budget option out there. But the most budget option that Ventum offers. For a race-ready frame equipped with Di2, it’s more on the budget side than most other options out there 🤘
Yeah if it’s not 20 years old and sporting rim brakes these commenters will make you crazy.
@@petersouthernboy6327 different strokes for different folks, right? I’m all for a cool build whether it’s a steel frame race rig or a carbon rocket ship.
I have coospo computer, cadence and velocity sensor, heart sensor and the back light all from Coospo and they’re amazing!
Love to hear it! Glad they are working out for you!
The Computer got to 9999 miles and will not turn over to zero. How do I make it do that?
If you go the the Coospo App and go to "More"-> "Bike Computer" -> "Bike Computer Settings" -> "Total Distance" - You can then enter 0 and that will restart the ODO. Good luck!
Keep it up man! 💪🏻
I'm confused with it. Got the app. Connected to device. Connected it with Strava. But it doesn't seem to be loading rides nor syncing with Strava. The map in the app uses Google but it's clearly not connected. Hitting the 'center on location' does nothing and when I zoom out its out in the Atlantic ocean near Africa.
Sorry I missed this comment. Are you still having this problem? The ole factory reset might be the move.
How can I get power on the computer for a not too expensive way?
This computer can support power - all it would require is getting a power meter. That's where things get expensive. Shoot me an email and I can recommend some affordable power meters! averagejoesoutdoor@gmail.com
I hear a lot of people complaining about the batter stopping to take charge after several months. Is it still working for you?
I've had mine for over a year and I haven't had that problem yet.
Did you just call me fat?
Pretty sure he did.
@@SESSIONS73 It's called race fuel, not fat!
Can the time be changed from 24-hour to 12-hour?
I have not figured out how to do this... If there is a way I don't know how.
Got one works great
Awesome, glad you're liking it!
SO. lets break it down. Price $179, your favorite Nylon skins, one width, $189. The Pomoca Climb 2.0 isn't a premium priced skin. Glue, don't know what you are talking about, they stick plenty good for multiple laps. They are not a Hybrid glue skin. And it doesn't get all that cold in the Wasatch. Grip, in Fresh snow a Mixed or even full Mohair skin grip as well as Nylon. They only do better on an icy skin track.
I have owned multiple pairs of Pomoca Climb 2.0 skins (used to sell a ton of them when I worked at the ski shop) and I used to love them. But I do think quality has gone down hill over the last few pairs I have owned. When it comes to price, I feel like the dollar goes much further with BSMP. You don't get the same glide but (i stand by this) you get better grip, a much more durable skin and tail clips that actually stay on. I still own and use Pomoca skins but when it comes to a true VALUE driven purchase (something I think the Average Joe is conscious of) I can't say Pomoca is my go-to recommendation.
All about it 👍🏼
Man, i just got back on the saddle, tried to update the firmware on my unit, it froze on 21% and then poof! my unit turned off by itself, initially i just shrugged it off but when the app said that the update has failed i pressed retry and the updater froze again at 50% and now my unit is dead, i tried plugging it in, no good! Don't mess with that shit, people! Overall, it's a good head unit when it works!
Dang, sorry to hear about that! That sucks. I guess there are probably a few lemons out there. I've heard their customer support is pretty great to work with - I hope you are able to get a replacement! Curious how long you've had yours?
@@AverageJoesOutdoor i had it for about 10 months, 2 months of that time left unused because i was sick, the odometer is at around 2000km, it’s a fantastic unit for beginner cyclist who doesn’t need navigation, it has long battery life, the app has few issues but for the price i can’t really complaint (i got it for $20) the costumer service at least answers your email tho
Do you have specific foods you like while riding? Or does this do the job for both hydration and fuel?
Yeah, I’ve got a decent list of what I like to do for solid foods on longer rides. Blank’s isn’t a complete nutrition solution. They do offer a high carb mix for that but I prefer to mix in solid foods to get carbs. Stay tuned for a video on complete fueling… 👀
Will definitely be placing an order. Also, we should chat, I’d be curious to know what your long distance fueling usually looks like.
Do it! You won’t regret. Let’s chat for sure! Long distance strategy is tough but I’ll share what I like to do!
🫡
Maverick 95 is also a great ski..check it out
I’ll give em a try! They’ve also added carbon to the 95 for next year so it’s poised to be a killer ski… 👀
ciao una info, come scarichi i dati su STRAVA si vede proprio la mappa del percorso fatto (come se la visualizzassi da Google Maps) o solo il totale chilometrico (in pratica una linea retta con il totale? grazie
i am using the same model kit(BC107+BK805+H6) for the last 2500kms already... memory - make sure to sync your ride in the phone app so that you will keep your record or load to your strava... memory is auto-delete but can keep around 20+ rides (average +2hours/rides)... i paired with magene p505 power meter and can record your ride full...
what is it?

Good review!
Thank you!
Probably a stupid question on my part, did you change the battery on the HRM? That sounds like the same behaviour I get with my HRMs (Garmin or Polar)
Yeah, I have swapped them out a few times before the problems started. I thought that might have been it but I honestly don’t think it is unfortunately.
@AverageJoesOutdoor sounds like a unit issue since you said the same happens to the cadence sensor as well. Might want to try another head or watch and see if the HRM and cadence still works or not
@@WariWahab cadence reads accurately but the way it connects to the bike is subpar and falls off. But when it is attached it is pretty accurate. I really do just think the HRM has connectivity issues.
I think the most important feature for any computer is, can the firmware be upgraded to fix the quirks? If not I would pass on it.
You can update the computer through the Coospo Ride App so you’re good on that front!
Bro, you probably want to look for another head unit, mine just died when i tried to update its firmware. Right now I’m waiting for them to reply my email, i won’t even bother to send my unit if they told to, it’s a time consuming and it’s a cheap unit anyway
At a 5th or 6th of the cost of most other competitors computers, Coospo BC107 rocks only thing I see is you can not get a map up if you get lost but lets face it we all carry our phones now anyway. Bought mine in Nov 2023 when the buttons fell out of my Garmin 530 which was purchased new in Aug 2020 and Garmin said they could only give me a 20% off coupon for a new Garmin, Jokes on them, Coospo for the win
For a basic bike computer you’re spot on, it’s a Garmin killer. It does lack navigation, Strava live segments, etc… but for what you pay it is an impressive unit!
@@AverageJoesOutdoor if you get lost just use your phone, if your so far out you don't have service, shame on you for not getting a route before you go
@@mikeb9303 Exactly!
Have you figure out how to zero out ODO?
If you go the the Coospo App and go to "More"-> "Bike Computer" -> "Bike Computer Settings" -> "Total Distance" - You can then enter 0 and that will restart the ODO. Good luck!
@@AverageJoesOutdoor that worked, thanks!!

I was about to say that now the environmentalists are ruining skiing, but you ended up liking the ski. So maybe not all the environmentalists are bad.
Yeah them environmentalists are on to something here. Saving the environment AND making pretty killer skis? Can't complain about that!
My own experience overall with Scott skis is that they are a bit unmanageable overall. Very direct skis that are not designed for carving. I think their area of specialty is strictly off piste.
Makes sense. Sure wish they would have done well off piste if that’s what they were aiming for.
I just purchased these myself. Bought them for the purpose of a light back country rig. But I have to agree with you. I'm very unimpressed. They're not stable at high speeds. They're not stable with big turns..... Definitely disappointed after coming off of some blizzard rustler 10's
Glad I’m not the only one that had the same experience but bummed the ski were a disappointment!
