What age do you start to check and see how tall they get ? A year? or earlier?
Love this horse!!!!!!! ❤❤
Horse abuse by the afraid and ignorant.
Why are you so afraid of your horse?
Why the double loop around the bit? Why not just pass through the left and clip to the right?
Well where you right?
Please share his jumping videos . Also how high is he jumping now and what do u think his limit would be ?

Can I ask what your arena footing consists of?
That arena is sand and rubber. (Chopped recycled rubber tires mixed with concrete sand.)
Beautiful ridimg.. Gorgeous horse 🐎 🥰
Super! 👏👏👏
👍
You’re awesome. I feel totally comfortable with everything you do and say.
Hey, so I have 2 yearlings I want to start doing ground work with. Are there any videos or websites you would recommend I look at for ideas?
Beautiful pair!
What a lovely guy!
So excited for you!! What a beautiful home.

Hi! How much does this horse cost and is it for sale? Thank you.
He has been sold!
man-total splendid -=))
He’s absolutely lovely!
I liked and subscribed because you, like myself, are a dressage rider and trainer who values all kind and caring forms of equestrian activities. Thank you for being inclusive!!!
Where is part 17😞
Thank you for this video!
Watching your videos are amazing I wish I could find someone like you Eliza who could break my Appaloosa love watching you ❤️
Hi Eliza, is he for sale?
Yes!
I agree with everything you said and this never happens for me haha
The best videos I have seen about starting young horses! You helped me understand how the procedure is done gradually!! I am not experienced and I have a colt! Thank you very much! I hope you show us more!
Hai medam
nice cavesson!
Gorgeous!
This is such an excellent, excellent series. So very clear, helpful and systematic. Thanks so much. It takes a village to train a horse and you are an important piece of that village for me and my 4 year old.
Beautiful, congrats!
I will definitely be trying out this tip around the wrong diagonal Eliza!! Thank you :)
I’m planning on getting my first project pony this coming summer. I’m so excited! I can’t wait to work with them
Thank you so much for taking the time for this series. Great details easy to follow. :)
Not quite sure what to do with obstacles. "Isn't an obstacle exactly what the name says?" 😁
Are your roots from classical/traditional dressage? I like your horse upright frame:) Suggested reading?
Did you ever take Dubs to his first show, Part 17? I loved watching this series.
For the first time ever I have understood everything someone has said and it has all made perfect sense. Thank you. X
Hi. Could you explain what you are doing and why, please?
Really great content 👏
Great video! What brand of cavesson is this that you’re using? Where did you get it from?
Baroqlvr good question! Unfortunately good cavessons are really hard to find. This one is from the Spanish Riding School, and has been in my family (and repaired many times) since the late 1960s! Sometimes if you can’t find a good cavesson that fits well and isn’t too bulky, just a snug leather halter is an option, or a rope halter for ground work. But I wouldn’t want to lunge in a rope halter.
I brought a 6yo in September to break in the new year and this series has been instrumental for me! She's a rescue and has been seen by all physicians and is ready to start but due to her being rescued we're taking a lot longer in the groundwork. But thank you for sharing this! Here in the UK it's almost impossible to find someone to learn from who doesn't recommend gadgets and extra tack. Thank you again, Sarah from the UK!
Sarah Redmond thanks so much! Best of luck with her!
On average about how many rides would you have put on your horse at this point? I am starting a 5yo horse for the first time so I am trying to be as methodical as possible. So far I have followed a similar method as yours and she has had about 5 rides so far. Everything is going well and I want it to continue to go well.
Stephanie Bonnell at this point, he’s probably had around 20 rides off the lunge.
Thanks for the tip on changing to the wrong diagonal. That makes a lot of sense.
Stephanie Bonnell you’re welcome!
Such a wonderful job! I love how pro-horse you are and how you have such a deep understanding of the horses. Everything is so well thought out and explained. Thank you for making these videos!
Thanks so much, Kathy!
This was such a great video!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Deanna Corby Thank you! 😘
Thanks for producing this helpful series! I see walk breaks on a long rein in between sets and at the end. What is your feeling about long rein walks for horses at this level to warm up? How much walk in the warm up and is it with contact or a loose rein?
Susanne Boskovich, great question! I am definitely a fan of long rein walks at the beginning, at breaks, and at the end. Loose rein, unless there’s a real danger of spooking or something. If I lunge the horse first, I try to hand walk for at least a few mins before we start trotting on the lunge. And if I don’t lunge, then I walk on a loose rein for 5 mins before picking up the reins and trotting.
This is a great series which I’ve found really helpful in starting my young horse. I love your quiet manner with the horse and in the way you narrate.
Thank you, Anne! So glad you enjoyed it.
