    On these EEC-IV systems it is much easier to give power to the fuel pump by placing a jumper between pins 2 and 6 off the EEC-IV test connector.

    I have a question… I just put a new REAR gas tank, fuel pump in sending unit in my 1993 dual tank F150 302. the front tank works great. I was finding that the rear tank wasn't sending any fuel, so I hooked 12V directly to the fuel pump, used a clear hose on the output, and what I am seeing is it's sputtering a little bit of fuel out. Very little. Why would this happen? Could it be a bad fuel pump? Shouldn't it be a solid stream of fuel coming out of the fuel pump down that hose? Now, I didn't prime the hose before I hooked it back up. I don't think you need to do that. Just curious what you think I should look at next.

    Just gonna share my experience and hopefully the info may assist someone down the line. I watched this video and replaced the blower motor on my 2018 Rogue S. I checked the old blower motor by running a positive and negative wire straight from the battery to the motor and actually the old motor start spinning pretty good. At this point, I thought okay it must be the resistor then but I went ahead and installed the new blower motor anyways since I had already taken out the old one. Just for the sake of it I turned on my AC just to see what would happen, and lo and behold it was working without even replacing the resistor. Don't know what to think, but that was my experience.

    Really really fanstastic presentation! And the closing remarks through the opening, good stuff gents! ... About to tackle this on a 5 yr old honda ridgeline that really should not have broken at such a young age. I'm not positive its a bad motor, but sure seems like it as there is a very loud grinding noise coming directly from motor when prompted to move. Does not slide more than an inch or two and tilts open but on one side only. Anyway thanks again. Edit: after further examination my sunroof appears to have a cable issue. I determined this because when I unscrewed motor from frame the cable was a bit tangled up in it AND the motor sounds perfectly fine now that it's been separated from loose cable. So I'm all ears for any videos on sunroof cable reallignment/replacement.

    I have an 89 E150 4.9, new injectors, new distributor, complete tune up, new TPS, new IAC, new MAP, new coolant temp switch, new power steering pressure switch, and it still will stall when put into drive or reverse, I now can hear rattling under load, spark knocks too, its a money pit, its been to several shops, they can't fix it, they either don't know or say they found nothing, shop that found nothing burnt up the transmission and gave it back running on 4 cylinders, barely made it home. I now hate Ford, if I had any money left, or what was spent on it already I'd buy a v8 with a carburetor, throw the efi six into a dumpster! I've been to every forum on the internet, they know nothing about fixing a efi 4.9, just suggest testing every electronic switch on it, and if it comes back inconclusive they ignore further comments, carburetor, or junk it!

  • @Maples01
    @Maples01 Před 3 měsíci

    Yeah, fuel regulator, well Ford didn't think out the placement of it on the 4.9, its amost under the intake, you can see it, but accessing it is another story, pulling the intake penelumn is almost needed, good job Ford, you made owning a van a challenge in every repair, not to mention ruined the 300 inline six longevity with the shitty efi! I'm 4 years in and no one has been able to make this piece of junk run right, I was hoping it would just die to make diagnosing it easier, nope, runs, just not well enough to really drive it, listen to the valves rattle under load, quits when going into drive or reverse, had to chock the throttle up to keep it running. Avoid all the OBD1 Fords or be ready to pull it all and swap on a carburetor, don't try to fix it or you will have more money in it than NASA spends to send up a shuttle, and it still wont run right!

    • @badmaxx
      @badmaxx Před měsícem

      Pretty sure nobody installs for free. Generally speaking, a two-tone Katzkin for a Tacoma will run about $1k with tax and shipping if purchased from an authorized dealer/ebay. If a pro is willing to spend a half day or more giving out free labor, he'd starve. The pro gives a flat-price that includes both Katzkins and his labor, so you're looking at $1500-2k total.

    • @Doc1855

      @@badmaxx Katzkin pays for an independent automobile upholstery company to install your leather seat covers after they have removed your factory cloth or leather. For my own TRD Double Cab Tacoma, Katzkin has a contract with an independent contractor who does auto upholstery about 1/2 an hour drive from our house. My Tacoma had factory Black Leather seats and the company in Wenatchee, Washington removed my factory leather seat covers and replaced them with the Dark Red leather seat covers with black trim and stitching. Once my truck was finished, they removed the gray cloth seat covers from my friends TRD and installed my black leather seat covers into his Tacoma. I don’t know how much the shop charged my friend. I had sold him my black leather and he drove over from Issaqua to Wenatchee on the day they installed my Leather. A few years ago I had my wife’s Outback redone with 2 tone Leather from Katzkin. Her leather seats are now dark brown on the outer seats and tan in the center. Her Outback is Cinnamon Brown Pearl and had light tan cloth upholstery.

Katzkin has local upholstery shops that will take off your seat covers and install their leather covers free of charge. For a double cab Tacoma, it’s $2,400 in any color scheme you want and the installation is free. I had Katzkin do my wife’s Outback last year in chocolate brown and tan leather.
