Universal Hardware Grade 2 Keypad Entry Lever Installation Video
The Universal Hardware Keypad Entry Lever provides convenient keyless protection for your commercial space. This keypad leverset is perfect for entry doors or doorways where added security is needed such as; maintenance rooms, laundry rooms, supply closets, or member-only access areas. It comes with an auto-lock feature has an adjustable delay so you can ensure the door is locked after entry or exit. The keypad has illuminated buttons that light up when pressed. The lock is programmable and can hold up to 99 additional user codes. The leverset runs on 4, AA alkaline batteries (not included) and features a low battery indicator on the interior handle. The keypad entry lever is ANSI Grade 2 rated for commercial use and has a 6-Pin SC4 Cylinder, brass plug for added security. I did it exactly as shown and in interior rose won’t separate from the mounting plate.
Hello. The rose can be separated from the mounting plate by removing the knob and then inserting a flat head screwdriver at the dimple marks along the outside of the rose. Please give our Customer Care team a call at (800) 562-5625 so we can assist.
Your one size fits all written instructions for different models are incredibly convoluted and impossible to follow. They don’t show that you have to leverage a screw driver to remove the plate as shown here. Somebody needs to talk to whoever wrote the instructions that come with your product, or whoever required that one set of instructions be used for all models.

It took almost an hour to remove the lever with the pin provided and it has been over the rose cover still has not come off. I wish that i had viewed the comments first.

Once you see how the lever comes off it's easy. Until then it's baffling. Better instructions with a clear picture is needed.
Thank you for this video. The flat metal plate that is under the striker and moves together, I didn’t know if it was suppose to be pressed back when closed but striker extended. I saw in this video that is shows metal plate pushed back and striker extended so thank you for that! Helpful as I couldn’t tell via instructions. 🙏

It's the separating the interior rows from the mounting plate for me. I could remove the lever easy as pie😊
Honestly, it was easy to remove the lever but only after i realised how it works. You push the pin in, pull out the lever about a millimeter and the take the pin out and the handle will pull off easy.

I have a question I installed that model in an exterior door it works fine during the day but is doesn't close the door all the way is gets cold outside, any suggestions?
Hi. Thanks for reaching out. How low are the temps getting during the night hours? To find the right balance and account for the temperature swings, we suggest increasing the power and/or latch speed slightly.

Why must the pinion be rotated 45 degrees towards the hinge side of the door before attaching the main arm?

Why would someone choose this mount over “Standard Mount”? Would this mount be preferable for a full glass storm door?
NO ONE should buy this lock. Unless you want to spend hours trying to remove the lever. THIS IS GARBAGE!!!!!!!! The instructions are unreadable. So I found this video. Just confirming I'm doing what I'm supposed to. Don't but this!!!!! Did get it off... eventually. Instead of pushing pin in a pulling at same time. Try pushing in and then maybe it'll just come off. IDK, maybe that's how it works. Eventually it came off. OMG - I have this thing installed, but the handle doesn't want to lock back in place. This is a sick joke. Finally done. It will eventually work. If haven't used this b/f, it's a learning curve and not as simple as the video. I think the problem is that everything is explained like garbage. They needed a 6 minute video. Instead they gave 3:26.

@@UniversalHardware Update. It took an hour to get the lock on. It's not that the product is defective or even hard to install. It's that the instructions are non-existent. To get the handle off - push in with the pin. then withdraw the pin and take handle off. If doesn't work at first, just try a few times. Don't try to push in and simultaneously pull handle off. To get the plate off, can use a small flat head screwdriver, no problem. It does not just come off as in the video. The door handle is going to latch onto the cylender with the tab part facing outward. If the tab is facing inward, then the door handle will latch on the wrong way. So make sure that is pointing out. Otherwise, the product is fine. For the cost of the item and the labor it must take to answer people's questions, you'd think it would just be better business to provide proper instructions, or at least film a youtube video with someone actually installing it and going over these issues that are coming up.

What to do when the door is wood core and the screws get loose/snapped and won’t hold the piece in place?
Hello. Do you have a model # or thickness for the door you are experiencing trouble with? Sometimes using a through-bolt can work to securing a closer body to the door when wood screws are failing.
push pin is a joke, people. about an hour in a can't remove the lever the proper way without force.
