This is my channel - mostly a collection of my own videos which include songs (a few of my own orginals plus covers of other people's songs), a few tutorials on how to do certain random but useful things, and some that showcase my own, virtual creations in the PS4 game "Lego Worlds". There are a small number of TV clips I wanted to share with you, too.
I have to be honest here - I started this channel simply to publish and show off the first few videos I'd put together - and, unlike most other channels, I DON'T post new stuff regularly - like, every week or so! I only post when I feel inspired or I have something new to show off!
Some of my videos have proved surprisingly popular and get huge numbers (multiple thousands!) of regular views and comments - while others languish, unloved, and haven't reached above double figures yet in their views - but hey, c'est la vie!
I hope you feel like browsing through my work and I hope you even find something that inspires you!

There's No Business Like Showbusiness Cover by Steve Parkes
I don't know why I hadn't thought of doing this song on my channel before now! Here it it now - better late than never!

I thought I'd have a go at this silly little ditty - I remember my Mum singing this around the house when I was very little!

A classic Ray Noble song from 1932 - originally sung by Al Bowlly and then subsequently covered by a myriad of people over the years since then. I felt I needed to put my own interpretation on it as a ukulele song - so here it is!

I've grown to love this song by Hoagy Carmichael and Frank Loesser - so I decided it should be my next ukulele project.
Never Swat a Fly (1930) Cover by Steve Parkes

This jolly little song first appeared in the classic 1930 Sci-Fi movie "Just Imagine" - and seemed a good one for me to have a go at my own interpretation of it.

I chanced upon a short video where they'd used a snippet of the original song by Cass Elliot - and I thought "Hey - that's a nice one I could do for my CZcams channel!" So - after some research and some practice - not to mention a nice, psychedelic Hawaiian shirt for good measure - here it is, folks!
America - Simon & Garfunkel Cover by Steve Parkes

This one's been a long time coming, folks! About fity years or so, to be honest! I first started trying to work this one out for the guitar back in the 'seventies - but I abandoned it when some of the chords got too difficult for poor little me! But, to my delight, I found the right transposition to be able to play it on my baritone ukulele (in Bb, if anyone's interested?) - so I've thoroughly ...
I'm Yours (Jason Mraz) cover by Steve Parkes

I thought I'd have a try at playing a comparatively recent song this time, instead of my usual 'oldies' or standards - so I've done my own version of "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz from 2008. I heard my grandson, Joshua, doing this one on his ukulele about five years ago and it belatedly inspired me to try it myself. Why not, I thought?
Blues Skies (cover) by Steve Parkes

My latest offering is my rendition of the 1926 classic by Irving Berlin, "Blue Skies". Not a lot more to say about it, really - I hope you like listening to it (and it would do me a favour if you hit the 'like' button if you feel that way inclined!).

It suddenly came to me in a flash recently that this old, novelty classic from 1944 would probably make a great song to do on the ukulele - so I straightaway set about learning it and producing this song-video. Another to add to my ever-growing collection on my CZcams channel!
'Lego Worlds' Ladies Have a Big Fight!
zhlédnutí 130Před 8 měsíci
Here's something very different! Let's see how The Lego Worlds 'Forest Maidens' characters all come to help each other when someone starts to fight one of them! We end up with a glorious scrap! Of course - none of it's real - so nobody's getting hurt - it's all just good fun! But I DO seem to have acquired a fighting 'ghost' down in that room - it's MOST strange! See what you think!
Smile & Find The Sunshine

This song was written by my Great-Auntie Floss and she had it published as sheet music almost a hundred years ago - in 1927. It was never a commercial success and has remained largely unheard-of outside our family. I felt it was about time somebody recorded it and showed it to the world, albeit in this small way, on my CZcams Channel - so here it is at last. I hope you like it.

Black Bottom 1926 New Cover Version
zhlédnutí 157Před 11 měsíci
In my teens, I was always a fan of The Temperance Seven - and I well-remember their rendering of this old classic. The Black Bottom was supposed to be the next, big thing after The Charleston! This is only short, but I hope you like what I've done with it!
Footso The Silliest Cat - cover song

Back in my dim and distant childhood, Gerry Anderson brought "Twizzle & Footso" to our TV screens - and I never forgot the words to Footso the cat's signature song. I thought I ought to make this little tribute video of it - it's very short, but it still makes me chuckle! Those of a certain age will, I'm sure, remember it well enough!

Amazing work Steve! When will you make a new Lego worlds project?🙌 we love those!!🫶
I’m actually in the middle of another, new build - a new castle on a long peninsula this time - but they take SO long to construct, as you can imagine! I will get there in the end, though!
I love the outfit for this one, the voice is as calming and amazing as always, thank you for posting <3
That’s very kind of you to say so - thank you!
Brilliant as ever..one of your best❤
Thanks, Jennie!

Nice work sir ❤
I'm view number 779. Let's go viral now!
I don't know if you check the comment, but thank you. Hearing your singing awoke something in me that brought a nostalgic feel. This is an amazing cover and I can't wait to hear your others
Well, thank you so much for that lovely comment, Lekanta. As you can see, I DO read my comments from time to time - and it’s good to know that folks like what I do. There is a considerable body of my work before this one on my channel - you just need to select ‘videos’ and you can scroll back though all of them.
Incredible work as always Steve!
Thank You!
very beautiful
Thank you for sharing your creation. As a fellow devote of the NoseFlute I was delighted to see how your approach to the instrument was so very different than mine. I especially like the radius edge. If you are still active with the NoseFlute and would like to swap insights, I would love to talk. Have you played the Bocarina?
This is wonderful!
That's cool! Are you singing harmony with yourself?
I like this! Thank you
Thanks!
This is great, thanks for sharing.
Rip Paul Shane , Ruth Maddock and Paul O’ Grady
Wonderful to see the cast and of course the much missed Paul O'Grady enjoying the interview
I can't stop smiling because all the cast are so brilliant
Love it! I even remember the Flit gun we used to have in the 50's. Take care Sparko. Baz
this rocks.
Great cover grandad. Me and Ellie loved it. ❤❤
12.30am love this one❤
Makes me wish I could recreate castle town in this game but I’m just not as skilled as you 😳😩
Always a Joy to Listen to Thanks Steven
Well done...worth the wait x
How come Jimmy Perry and David Croft were not invited?
Because this is lowest common denominator television.
It is my experience that wooden noseflutes ask more energy and have less pitch than metal or plastic (Bocarina) flutes.See "noseflutejob" But the idea to make a noseflute I love.
A great cover for a great song. Congrats, dear Steve.
Hi de Hi is now something from a completely different era. Even sitcoms seem passé in general today😢
City Varaities Leeds damn those were
Charming... Beautiful 👍
Top stuff steve 👍

You pretty much nailed that! Brilliant! Just missing the cushion…
BBC are just a shameless husk of their former heydays. You still did great for uploading this wonderful reunion mate. TY!
Great music! keep it up and would love to see more!
Thank you! I keep making new ones every once in a while….!
Joyous !!!

Hello - and thank you for your appreciation under your own, currently difficult situation!

That's worth a smile 😊
Thanks!
Thank you for this song) I don't know how this video popped out in recommendations, nevertheless thanks to you now I know, that this song is not just an addition to Lion King cartoon))
Thank you! It's not indeed! As a child in the 1950s, I remember hearing this song on The Billy Cotton Band Show on our radio at home.
