I just think its kinda funny how ,you see john gets it, this interview guy keeps bringing up death this and suicide that how does this make you feel. Johns talking about writing and how great kids are. Finally johns like ohh you came here to hear me say this....... (proceeds to drop the bomb) and looking really happy to do it😂 thats why he's smiling. Cause he knows that what the dudes been trying to insinuate the whole time. Then he grabs his guitar and moves on....
Please tell me that " singing " is him putting us on!...???? Gotta be his joke on us.
Funny how the relatively low talent get attention by acting different. Thats really , really bad. Out of tune, out of time. Just a dreadfully awful musician.
40 years and they still cant afford clothes. I love this band
❤glad u back
7:19 "I cried. I don't know why. I don't like his music or anything. It's awful you know." Strong Hansel x Sting vibes.
River Phoenix was murdered in my opinion
I was wondering what that weird sound was in there songs, now I know it’s ghosts
If Black Tar Heroin could talk...
This looks like crank not herion
I hear ghosts in music too John, dont worry.......it wasnt just him.
1:00 Anthony Kiedis doing the stupid dance hes done for 34 years...
Jesus I just realized he's my age in this video. Damn.. he was just a kid here
9:06 the interviewer apparently isn't aware that john supplied river with the drugs that killed him.
Here, in 2024, looking back on a dark, dark time in John's life. I cried when this first came out. Im not religious, but damn, did I pray for John during this time. I know how he must have felt...trying to escape something, but not exactly able to articulate what it was. It sure is hard being a loving, caring human being in a world so full of suffering and pain.
Wish there a interview like this of Syd Barrett
Has any long interview after 1999? Whrn he was stop do drug and start meditation and yogA?
1:52 That cat has seen some shit
It's odd that he's says he doesn't like Nirvana here. In a more recent interview with Rick Rubin he talks about how much he enjoyed Nirvana, especially In Utero during this time and how they meant a lot to him.
He literally says in the rick rubin interview that he tried to hide their influence and how much he loved them
It still mystifies me how someone can go from being on top to this.
John looks a lot healthier these days. The healthiest he’s ever looked imo
"Being a nicer person. Always working on being a nicer person." 🙂 - John Frusciante
Just changed my mind
even though he was at a very low point i must say, i would’ve still hung out with him at this time. the things he’s saying in this interview still hold a stream of consciousness and he still had a way of keeping your attention. very creative man despite what he was going through
He still was nicer than most of the people ...
And he still acted very kind...
7:08 lol
oh to be 24 and on a binge.
dude lowkey funny af
Still disturbs me to this day.
Dude was definitely doing Belushi's
1:31 did Flea take some kind of pill during the performance???
I love John, and this is absolutely horrifying.
great album for insiders
Tragic. Glad he chose to fight for his life, he almost died and is on death's door right here. ❤️🔥

Damn. What a mess. It's incredible how he got himself out of this and what he would eventually become.
This is what I imagine Clapton did
I’m sure 1994 John was good at mathematics, he had a government microchip in his head after all
wdym
Painful! What a mess. Glad he got to the other side.
this heroine addiction and dark hole he went into was maybe his creative genius. he is one of the few that survived and live on. TROCP had to part with him because the addiction was so bad. they thought they were going to lose another guitarist. the whole band had a heroine problem. some worse than others
CHRIS PONTIUS ON DRUM
I’m not sure rocket man is best starter. 😂 Much love and respect, but whoops!
Interesting take on River all things considered…
I heard a theory today that this video was made to be used as to plead an insanity defense, incase he was charged with manslaughter. Don’t know if there’s anything to that though…
@@mightyheights7331 that’s an interesting one. IDK it’s mind blowing how dead this guy was and how far back he snapped. I’m intrigued what if any long term sides effects he walked away with or if he was just graced with being able to return to rock n roll and all it entails after being the living fucking dead.
I'm not into the Chili Peppers enough to be certain - is that guy at the beginning John?
bissexuality and drugs was what i related to rock and roll
Every junkie gets that same fucking voice and look in their eyes.
Almost nobody gets this low and lives to tell the tale.
All those mathematics paid off. Can’t wait to see the chili peppers play this summer.
Even in the darkest depths of addiction, he was still being creative
