Soy español, y vivo en Filipinas. En Mindanao prácticamente todos los filipinos con quienes he hablado, hasta con los que hablan muy poco el inglés, saben que tienen muchas palabras de origen español. Hasta hay palabras que han evolucionado tanto que al principio no parecen ni españolas.

My mexican vecina told me I got lots of Spanish in me words y phrases wise lol I was laughing because it’s mostly broken grammar y i tried to remember my Spanish class in ca setenta; but she couldn’t believe me when I told her that there were many Mexicans in the Philippines y fewer Spaniards…I thought my abuelo is Mexican or Peruvian admixed because of the big nose 😂 true…one of the calle in my place is called daang mestizo,where European looking mixed are to be seen y actually my classmate’s dad is pure Spanish y could hardly speak Tagalog( Bataan Provincia y used to be a part of Pampangga then) y the mom was a mestiza ( an engineer y a doctor respectively y my classmate became an engineer); I got cousins that had blonde hair y some neighbors too…I am a sangley admixed etc ); I love Spanish songs that still sing while playing the guitar y the guitar piece called Spanish Serenade I still play fr the 70’s…culturally we had it etc 6 that is nuff para mi…😂🎉Ty guys for sharing

Correct sa nag comment at correction sa host, bobita! Bisaya is a language not dialect. It may be a dialect because of the accent. Take note 75% speaks Bisaya in the Philippines than Tagalog coz people in Visayas and Mindanao are Bisaya speaking aside Luzon. And Bisaya has grammar, that is why it's a language. Popular lang Tagalog kasi may Pilipino subject in school sonetime in the past!!!

Of course Spanish language is part our heritage , filipinos must Spanish again El idioma hablado por nuestros antepasados por tres siglos mas los filipinos debemos hablan Espanol una vez mas😊

As a Filipino, I hate the Spanish colonizers. We lost so much of our identity as Filipinos. We couldn’t even keep our original Filipino surnames. A lot of Filipinos were killed if they didn’t convert to Catholicism.
