I would put the Rosa class alone in A+ as they feel a decnt bit better than the rest of A tier but not quite up where they once were. I'd also put the Metal Class alone in A- since so much of their stat points that could have gone somewhere useful ended up going into weight, which is not super useful in this game compared to older titles. While traction and invincibility are not a big deal for the more meta builds, it becomes an issue when using a weaker class like Metal Mario where you will find yourself caught in the middle of the pack more often and that lower invincibility leaves you more vulnerable to being mario karted, where as Morton/Bowser while having the same weight, have .50 more speed and .75 more invincibilty so they can tank a bit more and also have the capabiluty of at least attempting to bag and make a comeback. As for the low traction, unlike handling, which can be remedied by taking lines a bit earlier, having bad traction on slippery road tracks is just objectively bad all around, so the Metal class having decent handling but awful traction can be rough when trying to run. They just seem to do everything wrong and nothing right eith the stat pool they have. Not quite down with the B tiers, but in this current meta I wouldn't say they rank eith the other characters in A. Of course everyone is viable, but in sweatier lobbies, if you main heavies, you are better off going with either more well rounded stats like the Rosa or Waluigi class, or just go for a tanky class that can bag like Funky or Bowser. Everything else seems spot on, and even in the video you did say that Pauline is top of A, but I think it is enough to be an A+ as I have seen Rosas/Paulines do well even in the higher ranks of lounge which is somewhere I never see any other heavy class in. Sorry for the rant, just that I used to main the Metal class, and they are rough to get behind nowadays.

MK8D is definitely peak in terms of sheer content and how much replay value it has. Personally it is like 4th best for me just because I don't enjoy the heavily item based gameplay loop it has compared to Wii U MK8. This issue only got worse with the DLC because of how many chokepoints and narrow paths in general the DLC added, which in turn cause bombs and green shells to hit way more often than the OG 48 tracks. Double items was mistake. Front running and comebacks were already balanced MK8 with the meta being top speed due to fire hopping, if an item hit you, you weren't out of it and if you were in first with no horn, it was much harder to fish for it if a blue shell was coming. Basically winning races was based more on driving and less on items, between knowing your lines and fire hopping optimally to get the max length from it, and not havingto deal with an endless cycle of bills and stars on lap 3. Items are the core of all Mario Kart games, but MK8D went way overboard with them, so for me personally, it's not up there with MKDS, MKWii, and Wii U Mario Kart 8. I would put it in A tier with Double Dash. Also I hard agree with your take on Mario Kart 64, going back and playing that was eye opening.

I can explain: if your teammate (who was on the red team and threw the Blue Shell) then won’t Blue Shell go for you because you’re on the same team as your teammate who threw the Blue Shell and they will go a full lap around the track eventually de-spawning after 30 seconds. Although I have never seen it fly off the map like that before! 😂

I have heard that tracks in this game that have multiple paths, the Blue Shell will just follow the path it’s programmed to-causing it to pass 1st place. This is mostly common on N64 Yoshi Valley.

Honestly I wouldn't mind if all the lightweight characters get 0.25 mini turbo just so that half of the lightweights doesn't get outclassed by medium characters, since the lightweight do struggle quite alot especially if they trying to make comebacks because of their low speed while the heavyweights are only suboptimal because they have the highspeed to make the comebacks easier.

One of the few things that make Mario or Luigi quite a viable pick against the Yoshi class is because the Teddy Buggy in the Mario and Luigi class has the exact same speed and mini turbo mix as Yoshi Inkstriker with only a .25 difference in air and antigravity. You really aren’t missing out that much at all if you ever decide to use one of those 2 character classes instead of Yoshi. Tanooki Mario is the 2nd best character class in the game just because it has the same speed and mini turbo mix as Yoshi with clear differences in the other stats. However, Mario and Luigi have the 2nd best alternative speed and mini turbo mix in the game and you can still perform just as well online as the Yoshi class 🔥💯👍🏽

Great video. I borrowed the term "Fashion Kart" from Dark Souls community's "Fashion Souls." When you have a build that looks good aesthetically but it's not viable in competitive meta. On that note, Tanooki Mario being in S+ completely surprises me. Comet in S+ also threw me for a loop. Sad to see it seems to be among the few bikes that are viable at this point.
