Welcome to my channel ! My name is Paul, I am a young dad and I live in Belgium. Having always been passionate about knives, I decided some time ago to try making some. I am a beginner amateur who learned everything on the internet and especially CZcams. So I said to myself that I was going to share my way of doing things. On this channel you will find videos of me trying my hand at making knives, mainly folding ones, varying the materials and approaches. I'm going to try to post one video per month. Don't hesitate to leave a comment and share your way of doing things too ;-).

Работа понравилась. Неплохой дизайн и техника исполнения. Но не могу понять- где термообработка клинка и пружины? Если её не было- тогда как и каким образом эти детали сверлятся обычными сверлами и клинок обрабатывается обыкновенным напильником? Какая тогда у этих деталей твердость?
Hello. @ 3:46 you will see that I heat treat the blade and spring in a small furnace. The tempering is not in the video but of course I did it. Just after the heat treating part you can see the blade and spring after tempering. The blade has a brownish color and the spring is blue because of the difference in tempering temperature.

Bonjour et merci à toi . Simple a comprendre , merci pour ta video . Peut tu mettre en liens le modèle pour ceux qui ne sont pas équipés du logiciel en question ou qui ne maitrise pas l'informatique ? Jai une petite qstoon technique ,comment tu a gerer l'ajustement de ta lame par rapport a la fermeture et l'ouverture du couteau pour l'enlèvement de matières que ca soit precis. Peut tu également nous parler des stencil que tu utilise ou peut ton se fournir .Merci a toi .effectivement ca donne envie de passer aux pliants. 😃

Thanks 😉. I use a small melting furnace and a fast quenching oil. It's a small setup but it works great for folders 👍

Looks great. Would love a breakdown of how you figured out the geometry.
@@chris3275 I use a program that's called "Inkscape". I first draw a basic design on paper. Then I put it in the program and adjust the profile, the tang and the back spring. In Inkscape you can rotate the blade to see how the geometry will work. I can do a short video about it if you want.

Hello. Merci pour ton message. Je fais un premier montage parce que je termine la mise en forme du manche une fois le couteau monté. J'ai remis un rivet par la suite pour m'assurer que le lame soit bien tenue.
Bravo pour cette vidéo. Cela me donne envie de faire le grand saut: passer de mon expérience de lames fixes à un premier couteau pliant. Belle continuation à votre chaîne!

Hello 👋. Merci pour ton retour. Ça fait plaisir à entendre 😉. J'utilise des tiges d'inox de 2,4mm de diamètre. L'acier que j'ai utilisé pour ce couteau est du 14c28n en 3mm d'épaisseur.
@@couteauxjouniaux Question bête: si vous utilisez des tiges d'un diamètre de 2.4mm, est-ce à dire que vous prenez un forêt de 2.5mm pour le perçage des plaques et ensuite c'est le rivetage qui vient "combler" les 0.1 mm de différence?

Merci 😉. Je l'ai acheté sur Amazon. C'est une petite machine, mais c'est très bien fait. Il y a un variateur, ce qui m'intéressait. Honnêtement pour faire des pliants c'est top. J'ai juste du fabriquer des plateaux plus grands que ceux qui viennent avec. Les prix sont très variables en fonction des vendeurs. J'avais payé un peu plus de 250€, mais certains le vendent a plus de 400€. Il y a des "reviews" sur CZcams.
