If sprayed with fixative and then. With an isolation coat after that…..can i spray hairspray over the charcoal areas again?

Also, what brand of paint are you using?
Thank you. I have never thought of the amount of water as a ratio I just add enough water to make the paint transparent like a watercolour wash... Because I promote Winsor and Newton materials the paint I use for demo purposes in Galeria acrylics. :0)

Good job I like the different media you use. What paper you use for portraits and landscapes is the same? Also, can I use watercolor paper 140 lb.-300 g? cold press. Thanks for sharing...
Thank you! I use lining paper with a coat of actylic gesso for the charcoal and acrylic portraits/figure work and Bockingford 200lb extra rough for watercolour work. :0)

Wow! Stunning! When you add the green to the eyes is this with acrylic paint? And what type of pastels are you using. I’m trying to learn what can be added on top of charcoal.
Thanks glad you like it. Yes I use acrylics for the eyes and hard white pastel for the whites you could use acrylic or oil over charcoal as long as the charcoal is fixed first if you use oil you will have to use an oil based varnish not a water based varnish ...

Thank you! I use a hard white pastel for the pure whites you can varnish over this after you fix it :0)

This is such a beautiful paining and your technique is amazing! May I ask what kind of paper do you use that could take so much scrubbing without getting damaged? Or is the paper primed with something?
Sorry I missed this question.... The paper has a coat of whit acrylic gesso applied when it dries you can glaze over you charcoal with colour and then remove the colour and the charcoal hope this helps :0)

what paper are you using? is it a Canva-Paper Pad Primed for Oil or Acrylic 20x30?
Lining paper with a coat of acrylic gesso
it is actually lining paper 1700 grade with a coat of white acrylic gesso :0)

Love your work....found you on utube.....Do you Gesso the paper ? what weight paper...it doesnt seem to buckle or warp at all.
Yes white acrylic gesso I use lining paper 1700 grade 👍😊

You’re thinking of Lead white that ceased production due to concerns over toxicity. The flake white you mentioned is another name classically for lead white. Some paint manufacturers make hues of flake/lead white that look identical to the now outdated counterparts.

i really love your work! i’ve been watching a lot of your videos, but it’s a bit hard to hear what you’re saying. there are wireless microphones that plug right into the iphone that would do wonders for your videos! i work in film and know you can have bad video but bad audio is a bit unforgiving. still, i love your work and would love a video just on the tools and products you use!
