Tour HMCS Ojibwa Submarine, Port Burwell.
The Canadian Veteran Freedom Riders from Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound Ontario just completed a great day of riding to Port Burwell on Monday 29 July 2024, to tour HMCS Ojibwa, where we gained great respect for the service of Canadian submariners. Our tour guide actually served on HMCS Ojibwa, who was very knowledgeable and insightful. A special thanks to Brian aka Stripes, our Road-Captain for planning this awesome trip. We were honoured to have Herb & Rosalene along with Peter joining us, three potential future members of CVFR-BGOS.
CVFR-BGOS is a very active group who truly enjoy riding and coming together as comrades and representing the Canadian Veteran Freedom Riders with distinction. Our National President/Founder Mike aka Smokey had a vision, which we chose to follow in making this riding club highly reputable in our geographical area. Our next big trip is fully planned to attend the veterans ride in Perth Ontario on 21 Sep 2024. CVFR-BGOS will be departing 20 Sep for a two night stay, hope to see many CVFR members attending from the Ontario area.
CVFR BGOS Area Founder-Coordinator/ Past 1st President - Mike aka Static-Line
CVFR BGOS Photographer-Facebook/Past 2nd President - Roger aka Excalibur
The Canadian Veteran Freedom Riders from Bruce-Grey Owen Sound once known as CVFR Meaford unit are now all individual riders under (LRRP) Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol. This provides us more riding without a need for an executive staff, such as a unit President, Vice-President, Road-Captain, SAA etc, which works exceptionally well for CVFR-BGOS members.
Ride Safe!

    Nicely done, you make it look a lot simpler than what the mechanic described. My brakes squeak, now I will get them adjusted. Do you have a preference on how to get rid of drum noise, which is very annoying? I have the same bike, 2009. Thank you, waiting for your response.

      Drum noise comes from dirty brakes and poor adjustment, they need to be cleaned and some parts lubed up. than adjustment it is very simple, you can do it. just take every thing apart and cleaned it.

    There is no need to takeoff the gas tank. All you need to do is remove the air filter cover a little bit of patience and time you can get it off when you takeoff the tensioner cover for the left side of the bike behind the air filter cover, loosen it a little bit with a wrench and finish by hand. Be careful that you don’t loosen it too much because you’ll get the wrench stuff between the cover And the head

    Unfortunately, this is the wrong way to go - the timing chain has been undersized from the first model in '89 to the present day. The chain is getting longer and longer, so it only helps to lengthen the chain tensioner for a short time. I've replaced my stator. That seems to have solved some of the problem. The battery will charge after I start the bike and for the first few minutes. Then the voltage drops to 12 volts and stays there even when I'm revving. Then when I shut the bike off the battery seems to gain another .5 or .7 volts after the bikes off. My rectifier tests across the terminals at 470. Yours tested in the 600s. Does this mean my rectifier is bad even tho I am getting a reading?

      @weron021 Update: So the rectifier fixed the problem. What I found is the rectifier tested fine with the voltmeter. Once it was on the bike and both the rectifier and the engine were cold I would start the bike and the rectifier would work OK for 2 or 3 minutes and my battery voltage would go to 13 volts or so but, once everything warmed up that's when the rectifier would fail and my voltage levels would drop. Hope that helps someone. Thanks again man!

    I would like to add, you should change your crush washers when reinstalling your oil drain bolts for a tighter seal and you should put oil in your oil filter. Yes SOME will spill out but it's better to have some oil in it when you restart your bike. BTW, love the sound of your bike 👍

      You are absolutley correct, crush washer is a must and puring oil in the oil filter. Thank you.

    I saw one like that online recently for $349!! What a ridiculous price. Did you swap filters bc the stock filter stuck out too far? Many say that the stock filter bumps the knee.

    • @weron021
      @weron021 Před měsícem

      I have changed the filter for 2 reasons, 1. it was hitting my knee, and 2. I got more power since the original air filter is restricted for air, Now I have more top-end speed.
