OEM stands for “original equipment manufacturer,” and it’s a common designation for parts that might be used during your vehicle’s repair. An OEM part isn’t necessarily made by Ford or GM, though. What it means is that the engineers who designed that car selected the OEM part in your car. They had this particular part in mind during construction, and it is the part they intended to be used thro...

    That part shouldn't have been released from the salvage yard. That is the real problem here. There's nothing wrong with used bolt-on body panels that are straight and have the OE finish. You should be paid for cleaning them and making any repairs, but the parts themselves are just fine if they have no damage nor refinish work done to them previously.

    It’s up to the body shop to fight for the vehicle owner. If you need to call in 50 supplements, do it. Don’t use any reman or aftermarket parts, get paid for and do quality work. If you harass the insurance company enough, they will pay.

      @@JuanRodriguez-ri4sr any recommendations on how to deal with them the next time I need to make a claim. I know I have a right to go where I want but last time I made a claim; they steered me to go to one of their Collision Centres which was just terrible. They put on a cheap non certified hood that barely looked factory and the shop was problematic forcing me to take it or leave it.

    • @JuanRodriguez-ri4sr
      @JuanRodriguez-ri4sr Před 3 lety

      @@ericsimpson1697 you have the right of choice. Due your research ask around people that actually have filed a claim in the last couple.of months not.5 or 7 years things have really changed in the las 3 years. Find a shop that is transparent and is not scared of been called " the only one" by the insurers. The shop needs to explain in detail their repair plan before is submitted to the insurance. Hopefully they are following manufacturer repair guidelines 100% and not get intimidated by the insurers behavior and just expose it to you so you can make informed decisions. Sometimes you will have to pay incase of a Shortpay but hopefully your state and your shop has lawyers how.can help you get your money back. Most insurers are utilizing that tactics since shops are afraid of Exposing the truth. Most insurers as soon you file suit against them for Shortpaying your repairs they will pay you bit they are going to make you work for your money. Very sad but only 3% of the claimants get their cars repaired correctly. Thanks to all the Insurance Preferred shops.that are deceiving the consumers and are doing a great job of hidden the Truth from you.

    Hello , I would love to see more videos like this exposing these contractual agreements between insurance companies and collision repair facilities. DRIP SHOPS. I'VE WORKED IN THE COLLISION REPAIR BUSINESS ALL MY LIFE up until a few years back. I know exactly what the insurance companies want and what the repair shops have to do to a person's car in order for them to be a so-called "PREFERRED repair facility recommended by the insurance companies along with several others ,also being required to guarantee all repairs 100% for the rest of the vehicles life while the current customer owns it . I could write a series of books of what I have witnessed and experienced with regards to this shady practice of the insurance companies. Your average person realize on their insurance company believing that they have their best interest in mind especially when they have been a long-term customer. It's disgusting and it's disheartening. LKQ and aftermarket junk parts shouldn't have anything to do with repairing a vehicle back to PRE- ACCIDENT CONDITION. Not a piece of junk that affects the car's value and resale. Not to mention the safety issues I have seen having to do with structural integrity of the vehicles..

    DRP's are not necessarily or even probably the major issue here. A lot of smaller insurance companies would like you to use recycled parts or aftermarket parts. So you can not say that DRP's are the only problem. In fact, working with all major insurance companies, I have found that DRP insurance companies are more likely to use OEM parts than recycled or aftermarket parts.

    BEWARE: This business is all about price gouging, swindling, bad business ethics, bad customer support, AND THEY LIE. They will charge $500 or more for doing an estimate if you decide to remove your car from their shop to get a second estimate elsewhere, they'll charge you $50 per day "storage', they'll add 3% onto your final bill for "paypal" surcharges, and there's no payment method that will allow you to avoid this 3% surcharge. Brought my car to them on a Monday for MINOR REPAIRS, and they told me it would be done by Friday. I received no calls/text/emails from them between that Monday and Friday afternoon, and even though I had their cell phone number and tried several times to reach them to no avail. I needed to know when my car was going to be ready because I was driving a rental car and needed to know if I needed to extend my rental. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER IN ANY REGARD. To top it off, after taking TWO WEEKS to repair minor damage, I went to pick-up my "repaired" car and noticed NEW DAMAGE (new dent and chipped paint) ON MY CAR. Still I decided to leave that shop then because I thought myself fortunate my car still had an engine in it. They tried to LIE to my insurance company about the new damage . Fortunate for me, I took pictures of the entire vehicle BEFORE I dropped it off, and my insurance company took pictures before color recon started work: both sets of pictures proved the added damage was caused by color recon. This isn't going to end well for them.

      There is always 2 sides to a story. Our track record speak for itself. Expecting a professional shop that offer the highest level of quality and service for free is not reasonable. Any reputable enterprise that is hired to due a job and the customer changes there mind it will be charges for the worked performed to due a damage analysis to the vehicle that needs to be disassembled to look and measure the structure of the vehicle to find hidden damages. You signed a contract hiring us to perform the job and change your mind. Unfortunately you expect people to work for free and that is not correct. We documented everything on the prior damages unrelated to your claim. And we provide you the evidence the damage was there before we got your car. Very sorry that you noticed the damages due to the fact we clean your vehicle after the repairs and you were able to see al your used vehicle imperfections since it looks like new due to our services. Thanks for the kind comment this will keep people like you that like to pull scams on shops that care about there reputation but we are not going to be strong armed to due work for free just because we are treated to get a bad review. If we are in the wrong doing we always please our customers and our track record speaks for it self.
