I’ve enjoyed listening to this series, and I think you do a good job in your exegesis and also that you practice good hermeneutics. But I have one question for you: where in the New Testament does it say that the tribulation. Will be seven years? I’ve not found one place that says that. In fact, Jesus says that the time will be shortened because of the elect and he doesn’t say what that time is. Dispensational teaching goes to the seventh week of Daniel to get their 7 year tribulation, But none of the apostles, or Jesus referred to that passage when talking about eschatology. Have you just carried over this idea of seven years from the influence of dispensationalism?😅

Where is assembling and parasouia in 1 Thess 1? Sure, we can agree that there are differences that are not as significant, such as how or when we are raptured or gathered, but what is most significant is who are the "we", and what is the final outcome of "we" who are gathered. Here the differences between the Catholic Catechism/Council of Trent, versus Scripture is significant. Here it is not credentials of scholar but the veracity of Scripture that is significant.

You do a great job in presenting the biblical interpretation of these verses, and dispelling the false teachings of Darby, which unfortunately many American Christians home too. By the way, I studied under Dr. Nicole when I was at Gordon Conwell.

People have been trying to predict the end times and great apostasy since the Church began. No doubt the Church undergoes major dishevel every few hundred years. Don’t worry because odds are you and I will face our own death before anything like that happens and even if it does happen in our life time, there isn’t anything we can do about it anyway. I grew up in this tradition in the late 60s early 70s and everyone I knew I had a Schofield Bible. But it just didn’t sit right with me. I understood what Schofield taught but when I looked at the Bible it just didn’t make sense. Later on, I went to seminary and learned Greek and Hebrew, The principles of hermeneutics, and how to do exegesis. Thankfully, the seminary. I went to, Gordon Conwell, taught us how to think not what to think and it was then that I realized that dispensationalism is probably, and I don’t mean to be harsh here, One of the biggest heresies in the Christian church. Everything that is teaches about the rapture is forced onto scripture and does not flow from scripture. It’s very sad that so many people are caught up in this false teaching. And I wonder when it doesn’t prove true if this is why many people will fall away not because the Bible proved false, but because they’re false understanding of the Bible collapsed.

We are specifically told in scripture NOT to communicate with the dead. Dont call your dead saints either. And Mary WASN'T immaculately concieved. What foolish talk. And she didnt ascend into heaven as your apostate church proclaimed she did in the 18th century. Get out of that church. Praying for your salvation.
