    The players quit on Staley, rightfully so. But the person Charger fans should truly be pissed with is John Spanos. He hired Brandon Staley. I’m grateful that Dean Spanos FINALLY realized that his son John couldn’t be In charge with the next hire. John Spanos needs to STF away from the GM and the HC running the Chargers.

    It’s kind of silly to detail his coaching career up to when he gets nfl jobs for 3 years and position it like he jumped from d-3 to the d coordinator of the rams.

      That was an error on on our part, one member of the team brought it up, and it was supposed to be handled in post. We mishandled and forgot to put that in though.

  • @UsefulPreconceivedNotions

    While none of this is false, I trust none of these grading systems for o-lines. Why? Well count how many times defenders are allowed through 100% unblocked in just the 1st 23 minutes of czcams.com/video/FiiK21VzI_o/video.html. That is One Half of One Game, week 1 of '23. Now go see what grades each of the systems gave the Bears that game. Was it in negative numbers? Because these defenders didn't get through because they were great. Watch the film. The RG & both Ts _regularly run away from_ spots they can block from. The play at 22:45 is particularly special & if you listen to the narrator he says that "all of these plays occur Multiple Times in this game so I'm not gonna point them all out every time." This also requires that the coaches are calling for them to do this if it's regular, but that's an aside. With o-line play we Need To Apply The Eye-Test _ONLY_ & that first play was enough.

  • @UsefulPreconceivedNotions

    I agree with you about (Tyrod) Taylor. He is more valuable than looking at his raw stats would indicate. While he's still not The Best Guy in the clutch, he makes a lot of plays rookies fail at that avoid getting the team *into* those clutch situations to begin with. Now as Rodgers' back-up the Bills may lose to him once or twice this season. Ain't Karma a bitch? 😈😆 Lastly, one more thing: that stuff about McDermott's Bad Analogy? Did you read the _rest_ of that article? It's important. NFL team owners are _business_ owners, none of whom have the Faintest Clue what makes a good or winning coach. When humans don't understand a thing, they think of it in terms they _think they understand_ then proceed from there. Business owners see players as employees & coaches as supervisors. To them, tyrants make Excellent Supervisors. McDermott is quite the tyrant. It wasn't Dorsey forcing Allen to play hero-ball. McD would take over all play-calling O _AND_ D when he got stressed then blame everyone else for what happened when he did so. So blaming Dorsey was part of this pattern just like someone else got blamed for flying the team into London less than 48 hours before a game, ensuring they would play while sleep-deprived. He *continually makes terrible decisions in Big Moments* & the owners don't want to lose the tyrant who they think keeps their employees in line. What he actually does is build massive amounts of resentment one has to imagine Allen & others have to work hard against to retain team spirit. What can the team do when there's no oversight on McD? nothing. They're screwed because No One can tell him to lay off the play-calling when he decides to take it over.

  • @UsefulPreconceivedNotions

    If you're going to counter memes about things like comparisons with nothing but differing memes like "they played at Auburn" how are You Better than the people you're supposedly trashing? Also, you're going to get (assuming your channel grows) a _LOT_ of people who know more than you about anything angry & not in the good "leaving a comment but watching more of your content" way. after week 7 of '22 Fields called out his Own Coaches publicly. I realize that everyone wanted to forget this because the response from the Bears made it clear that Poles & Eberflus _never intended_ to even try to make things work with Fields. This felt like a betrayal. But please stop pretending to have forgotten that this happened. It's important. The team's owner wasn't concerned that A Coach was taking their $ then subverting their team? The HC if not the person subverting Fields Wasn't Concerned that his job might be in jeopardy because one of his subordinates was subverting his play-calling? The GM whose Entire Career can be ended if the player he traded for a bag of chips succeeds elsewhere wasn't concerned that this might occur because One Coach was subverting him? & _NONE_ of these people publicly reprimanded Fields for speaking publicly about Internal Matters? Yeah: _EVERYONE _*_KNEW_* in that moment that Poles & Eberflus were *deliberately sabotaging him.* & everyone went into denial about it leaving fields No Support Against it as his own play-callers returned to subverting him for another year and a half. Way to go fans of good things.

    Staley was a microcosm of fundamental issues within the Chargers as an organization. I’m not absolving Staley of responsibility because he didn’t perform but I don’t think his failure was entirely on him and he fell victim to poor and no leadership inside LA. He was a YOUNG coach in a building with no other HCs for him to lean on and guide him, no one in the building had any championship experience so it’s just the blind leading the blind. On top of that he had Telesco who’s sneakily one of the worst GMs in the NFL. I still think Staley can be a good HC but he got WAAAY too much on his plate way too soon and didn’t have anyone inside the Chargers building that could tell him “you’re doing too much rn” or “you got too much dip on ya chip” He clearly understood defense, he nearly shut down the 49ers offense, the Miami offense, held Mahomes to fairly low point totals. But he wasn’t ready to be a HC and he didn’t have someone who had done it successfully in the building to help sculpt and mold him. Players need coaching but coaches need coaching too

    • @UsefulPreconceivedNotions
      @UsefulPreconceivedNotions Před 6 dny

      Not really. They're both similar in that their owners don't have a clue what makes a good or winning GM, HC or anything else. When NFL: team owners don't understand something, they do what all other humans do: either shunt away all decision-making about it onto someone else (the Bears hired Poles & Poles hires everyone else) or go the other extreme like Jerry Jones & pretend they're competent. Both spell disaster because either way you have No Accountability. The owner who wants to act macho will only hire yes-men & the person in charge will only want to keep the checks coming in & there's no one above them who can tell they're not doing their all. When you get a coach that cares about winning &/or their players that is the _exception,_ not the rule. Even Gruden is quite a tyrant. & that's the thing. When humans don't know what they're looking at, subconsciously they rephrase things in their heads into terms they can understand. As business owners they see players as employees & coaches like supervisors. Ergo _all_ team owners are going to look at tyrannical windbags like McDaniels (that's how you get back at Raiders fans) like Suitable Supervisors. Once they've convinced themselves they've got a Suitable Supervisor, they stop thinking about any of this. Twisting the unknown to something familiar itself FEELS LIKE accomplishing something. In truth it has: you've fooled yourself into thinking you've accomplished something when all you've done is avoid the responsibility. Like with any teen, that feels like an accomplishment in itself.

    Finally… The real analysis we’ve been waiting for to explain how a historical franchise turned into the non-functional team it is today, and I also feel bad for Bears’ fans. C. Williams has already sold a ton of jerseys, so I’d feel really bas for all those fans if he doesn’t do well in the NFL!

    • @UsefulPreconceivedNotions
      @UsefulPreconceivedNotions Před 6 dny

      The short answer is that Williams can't fix what's wrong with these Bears because QB talent was never the issue. How I prove this takes longer. Let's start with czcams.com/video/5JO1PsupF_U/video.html. It's a video that spliced William's college highlights with those of fields. Fields isn't only a better rusher, he's a _WAY better_ passer. It's not even close. You know what else? czcams.com/video/QuhUbISnr8s/video.html proves with stats that Fields reads defenses at an Elevated Level. So right off, our Negative Perceptions about Fields were wrong from the start. What else did we get wrong? & why does it mean Williams can't fix them? As the Eagles proved this past season Bad Coaches don't come into teams that have Winning Play-calling, ask what worked & build off of it. They impose Their Plays. _After_ Fields called out _his play-callers publicly_ after week 7 of '22, the ones sabotaging him panicked & changed the offensive play-calls. (Ebeflus idiotically boasted about meddling the offense when no one asked, then got angry when reporters asked him about this. Wotta twit). For the nest 3 weeks, the supposedly bad Justin Fields led the Entire NFL in scoring proving he wasn't the problem. But... For whatever reason You The Fans, media & analysts totally ignored this entire sequence. It's as if seeing Fields prove himself triggered some sort of Grand Disappointment that forced everyone to go into Deep Denial. The Bears switched back to the play-sets that halved their offense for a Full Year (the good plays reappeared in weeks 11 & 14-17 of '23 & they again scored WAY MORE points) proving again that Fields Wasn't The Problem. So here's how it affects Caleb. If Getsy was calling the bad plays, you'd have to not only explain how he snuck them by Eberflus for a Full Year after seeing how His Good Plays doubled the scoring & he didn't fire Getsy. So this is how we know the plays that kept a QB who could out-score Allen, Mahomes & Burrow with their Far Better Rosters looking like a bust are Eberflus'. The other play-caller is Waldron. Remember how I said Bad Coaches don't build on what good ones do? The great QB play that resurrected Geno Smith's career went to Tampa with Canales while Waldron floundered with the doubling of his receiving & running rooms. The Bears have Two Inept Play-callers running Williams' offense, both of whom have Never Called for receivers to go for Long Passes thus nullifying one of his Greatest Strengths. It's not like Caleb can decide to throw to the Good Receivers who aren't obeying the coaches' order & running routes not ordered by the coaches. That's how they get benched, traded or lose their careers because Other Coaches don't want players who Don't Run the Routes As Called on their teams. So Caleb _will be stuck_ with having to throw to receivers on the routes these 2 inept play-callers call. Fields couldn't overcome this with his more accurate & more powerful arm, so I don't like Caleb's chances.

    • @yoshimario710
      @yoshimario710 Před 6 dny

      @@UsefulPreconceivedNotions Exactly, but many Bears’ fans think he’ll save them, and whether C. Williams can respond to expectations or not; they still don’t have the best coaching and their O-line is still awful

    • @UsefulPreconceivedNotions
      @UsefulPreconceivedNotions Před 5 dny

      @@yoshimario710 I know I already wrote a novel, but feel free to not read this either. It bores most people. We look up to sports figures. But in football, possibly because most people don't truly understand what an HC does, there's more loyalty towards one than in hockey for instance. So when there's a dispute with a player & the team, people feel uncertain & look to the HC to make them feel more secure. Like a surrogate father-figure. So when Fields called out the Bears' coaches for effing him around, psychologically people retreated in to a state of discomfort that they then wanted to be relieved from & saw Only The HC or Father-figure as capable of doing. At this point, Fields was already doomed. But if you can remove yourself from those mixed feelings, you should be able to see the bare facts without getting all twisted up. "The NFL isn't a person & if an HC sabotages a player, that's A Person doing that, not some Grand Representative of a Father we all wish we had. If Bellichick had responded to the Mac Jones fiasco with silence we'd all know Jones was a goner. Well? If Eberflus wasn't the one who was effing Fields around, he should at least have done something behind the scenes to end it. Poles' career can be haunted or ended if the guy he traded for a bag of chips ends up being top-15 anywhere else. Isn't it Highly Suspicious that _he wasn't_ looking into whoever was making the QB look inept? I knew the instant they said nothing that Fields was gone. At the _VERY least_ they should have reprimanded Fields for speaking publicly. But not even that? They were avoiding dealing with questions. They made it _obvious_ they were sabotaging Fields. & everyone but me looked away.

    The only real cases AGAINST them repeating the coach firing cycle is that a) Poles has done a very good to great job with the roster, at least getting established talent in, and b) Eberflus does seem like a good defensive coach so if their defense is good again, he may be sticking around. THAT SAID, is he the BEST type of coach to develop a very gifted but also raw QB? Probably not. And he’s still definitely on the hot seat.

      If you have participated in organized football, youre opinion is gonna be based on nothing, so why bother? Sure you can be part of the conversation but dont hard line your opinion because its just gonna sound wacky to someone who has done it.

Led the NFL in touchdowns and yards and top-5 in every meaningful qb stat. Bills are closest to Chiefs and will replace them soon. Haters gonna hate. F them all.

    Look at the draft trade from the Bills side. Keon Coleman is better than Xavier Worthy objectively. As well as KC was offering the Bills the best draft capital out of all teams. The Bills were trading down bc there were no players good enough at that spot. The Bills won this trade bc they got the better player. You don't worry about WHO is trading with you. You worry about what you are receiving. Lastly, Worthy will most likely be a bust or average reciever at best. Think Darius Heyward-Bey floor and Santana Moss ceiling.

      Your argument would hold a lot more weight if the first Bills Chiefs draft day trade didn’t result in the Chiefs getting the greatest QB of this generation and the Bills having zero players still on the roster from the trade. Xavier Worthy is in a significantly better situation than Keon Coleman is, the Bills gave Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid the fastest recorded player ever entering the NFL, if you think they won’t find a way to utilize him in a DeSean Jackson or Tyreek Hill role that is straight up grade A copium. Keon Coleman I would argue has the same amount of question marks as Xavier Worthy, he’s a big 50 50 ball receiver that struggles with separation and that usually means he won’t have a very long career, in order to succeed long term in the NFL wide receivers need to create separation in order to get open. Xavier Worthy might be small but you know that motherfucker will be faster than anyone else on the field, and once again, he’s on the field with Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce with Andy Reid as his coach Don’t come crying to me when Xavier Worthy makes a play to beat the Bills in the playoffs for a 4th straight time.

      @@prestonrowe5157what's the Chiefs record of successfully drafting star wide receivers versus busts and also runs they got? It's NOT good. Chiefs getting handed the SB's on a lot of accounts, Worthy is not gonna be this lynch pin to secure the Chiefs future of winning the Super Bowl every year. He is much more likely at 165 lbs range to be the next John Ross. Bills are not going to apologize to casual fans like yourself or the OP with the wrong take, nor are they going to proceed with fear of the Chiefs or their organization. We won't get paralyzed because the Chiefs like who they think Worthy COULD be, even though he could be lesser. Fact is Bills organization didn't want Worthy and the crappy mainstream sports media tried to twist it like that was who we should've drafted but sorry, we didn't see it that way. Bills literally got who they wanted and fleeced 2 teams on the way to getting that player, and at a more reasonable contract and lower pressure spot to boot. Bills getting bigger and faster and younger. Chiefs getting faster but slower. What good is Worthy's 4.2 speed if he's getting pressed and beat up physically? Not much. Which is exactly why historically there are very very few successful receivers in Worthy's mold. Bills were not gonna play defensively and take a player they didn't want to keep that player they didn't believe in from going to their rival. 😂 No, instead they got who THEY wanted and took valuable assets from their rival while allowing the Chiefs to swing HUGE and miss on John Ross 2.0. That's how we see it. Haters gonna hate. We will be in the thick of it all again, whether this jackazz making the video, or you or anyone else likes it or not. 😂 Mahomes "greatest qb of our generation" hit the breaks son. This generation ain't over and it'll be 15 years before Josh Allen is done competing against spoiled rotten Mahomes coddled legacy.

      Her's how I would use Worthy in Every Game: you line him up behind the line of scrimmage & send him on One Play Once the kind that he ran over 25% of the time (I think) in college where he runs it in from behind that line all the way for a TD. From that point on, All Other Teams will triple-team him to avoid that embarrassment & he doesn't have to do a Damned Thing the rest of the game. Your QB won't get sacked because the blitzers will be over to whatever side Worthy is on & your other receivers can casually walk to open areas of the field keeping their strength for running after the catch. What can Coleman do that other receivers can't again? Run slowly? I think that while many WRs *can* do that, it doesn't usually help their careers in the NFL.
