Tough opponent. I see a lot of comments mentioning “you don’t have the mental” bla bla. I don’t know about that, you keep fighting despite the tough score, that’s already commendable. For me your main issue here is obviously tactical. You mention that the score doesn’t reflect the ball-striking / decision-making. In my opinion, the score definitely reflects the decision-making. You allowed this guy to hit 90% forehands. Several times you come to the net… to his forehand and lose the point. Here your first thought should be “how do I get him to play more backhands?”. I’m definitely not as good as you are, but I’m older and if there is something I’ve learnt with age, it is to see tennis as a chess-game whereas when I was younger I would only try to hit the ball hard. Your tactical thinking needs to be way more than “I’ll try to be more aggressive”. Two other things that I think would have been worth trying: short cross-court (not sure of the term), very effective on clay, and varying heights (maybe slice to his forehand and big top spin to his backhand). Obviously easy to say on the keyboard, maybe this would not have worked, but what I mean is that you need to become more self aware of what’s happening. Hope this doesn’t sound harsh, but I wish myself that I had figured this out earlier, plus it’s an aspect of the game that I got to really enjoy.

I don’t usually comment, but I really have loved watching your journey. I’d personally ban all the trolls - no reason to let them stink up the comments for fans.

Obviously, in the single match u has to attack your opponent’s backhand a little bit more

Great videos! In the singles match his backhand seemed vulnerable to be attacked. His footwork did its best to make up for it, but your highlights didn’t show you challenging his backhand at all in the first set. I would have liked to see him pass you twice in a row with his backhand.

As one of my favorite tennis youtubers, I would like to tell you about Tyler Tennis Championships, which is a Challenger 75 tournament that has a large possibility of bumping their prize money up to $100,000 next year. I played Dellavedova couple years back and beat him convincingly in straights in a tournament in Melbourne. I have no idea how he’s gotten to the ranking he is now but for one you were way too passive and letting him dictate play.

Finn Reynolds is a tough doubles matchup. From New Zealand he is stupidly strong at the net and on his serve. Plz can you team up with him for doubles next tournament. I wanna see this pairing so badly 😁

you should definitely work on adding more directions to your shots. i’ve noticed that in most of your games youre comfortable with putting power, but somewhat lack angles in your shots. keep it going!

I think you need to chose between singles and doubles . Very few players that can do it both on decent level . But if you want to be out of top 1000 in both categories-go on and play both

Felix not gonna lie, the dude you lost from at singles is not better than you. His technique is 10x worse, maybe his footwork is slightly better. But you know what your main problem is? It's your mental game. You need to believe you can win these matches and play your aggressive game man. IMO you can play atleast challengers or atp 250, but you need to believe in yourself

Not hating, but i really don't understand how you wanna reach higher level, when you yourself think a 1000's ranked player is better level than you. if you don't believe you can play the level you aim to, you will never get there. everytime you obssesively look at your opponents ranking, even if they got like 1 or 2 atp points, and already concider yourself the underdog, "he is better ranked than me so it's gonna be difficult", it sounds like you try finding excuses for your loss before it even happened. if you really wanna go pro, you need to change this mentality, otherwise you are just wasting your time.
